- Here is everything you need to know about The Beatles.
It's a "brief" documentary about the biggest band of all time. Produced and written by Matt Beat.
My favorite Beatle: Paul McCartney
My favorite Beatle songs: Don't Let Me Down, Hey Jude, and Hello, Goodbye

Of course The Beatles were inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But also...all four individual members have been inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Today, the Beatles are widely considered to be the most influential band of all time. They defined an entire generation, and transformed popular music forever. Former Rolling Stone editor Robert Greenfield wrote: “in the form of popular music, no one will ever be more revolutionary, more creative and more distinctive.” The band even changed how people LISTEN to music. What’s particularly impressive about the Beatles is that were both critically acclaimed and extremely popular. Critics universally adored them, and oh they also just happened to be the best-selling musicians in the history of the world, selling more than 800 million albums worldwide. Probably no other musicians will ever accomplish what they accomplished. They are simply the greatest band of all time. Don’t believe me? Google “greatest band of all time” and see what comes up.
So, who was the true “Fifth Beatle?” Who is your favorite Beatle? What did I leave out? Obviously I can’t include everything in these videos so I do appreciate the additional information. Also, look for more of these in 2020. And I’ve decided I’m going to commit to release at least one video a month on this channel. Thanks for watching everybody!
Who was the true “Fifth Beatle?” Who is your favorite Beatle?
Which band should I do a brief history of next?
George Martin
Deep Purple have a very very interesting history that has spanned over 50 years that would be really interesting
Pearl Jam
Great video, I love the beatles but you should do weezer next
The Beat Goes On Billy Preston or George Martin I think is the 5th. But my favorite Beatle is Harrison.
i still can’t believe that John and Paul, two of the most talented song writers of all time, found each other
@Boris Notbadenov2 And George joining along... They will remain untouchable for a very long time
@@yannsa1994 Hell, even Ringo. He alone is anomaly. It's just insane these four men met.
Yes and there were at school in the same area. PAul and George in the same school. And John just next door. Unbelievable. Imagine to be at the same school at Paul and George.
I believe that's exactly why they got that far, because they had a friendly race to whom wrote the best songs, if you see how they first songs sounded, they weren't as good as they would later be, don't get me wrong, I love their debut and such, but they grow as a band to the point they wrote such masterpieces
It's because they pushed each other to be better & better. I think of it like a 100 yard dash. John & Paul are so busy trying to beat the other in the race that they haven't noticed 3rd place is 50 yards back.
Bob Dylan introducing the Beatles to weed must've been a historic moment in space and time

And now they just released their final song. A chapter of music history being concluded with one last piece of music is the perfect cherry of the cake.

It’s a great song, the video is a great but sad homage to the band and Harrison and Lennon.
What’s cool also is they released it with love me do on the a side and now and then the b side. So thier first and last song.

Talk about changing the course of History, The Beatles may have been responsible for the Break up of the Soviet Union. Beatle music was illegal to play in some parts of Soviet Union.
In 2019 they were still in the Spotify top 10 streamed bands of the year. Their music will thankfully never die.
I played the Beatles for my 5-year old the other day and she was immediately hooked. Catchy, well-written songs never die, and her respect for them will only grow when as gets older.

Later, that same decade: The Beatles, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Bob fucking Dylan.
And after that came southern rock, heavy metal, punk, Dire Straits, grunge, britpop, djent etc etc.
Seriously, this might have been the wrongest musical prediction I've ever heard! It's like if someone in the early 2000's said that hip-hop was going to go out of style.

Huge fan of the Beatles here. Small story: When my youngest son was 4, he came up to me one day and asked me if love was a game. It took me awhile to figure out why he had asked this question but it turned out that he had been listening carefully to the lyrics of Yesterday, which I used to sing to him before bedtime. He's now 15 and still listening to the Beatles.
Love used to be a really easy game to play. But yeah, my girls also enjoy the Beatles. Perhaps obviously, "Yellow Submarine" was a big gateway song. Thanks for sharing that. :) What's your favorite Beatles song out of curiosity?

You have to wonder how the 1970’s Beatles would have sounded if there were no personality conflicts and the band stayed intact, with Paul, John, and George equal songwriting partners.
If Brian Epstein never died at the time he did, I don't think the beatles would have broken up

I saw this video while stuck on a train running 65 minutes late. I knew absolutely nothing about The Beatles and might have heard just about 4 songs up to that moment. But in that moment, everything was a good distraction. "Beatles it is then" I thought to myself. After this video was over I went and listened to a Paul McCartney GQ interview. Then another Paul McCartney interview. Then I logged on Spotify and listened to the White Album. The day after it was Abbey Road. After that it was Revolver. A few months go by, my entire identity is based on The Beatles, my savings went to Beatles records, my room is decked out with Beatles posters and records and I've ran out of Beatles media to consume. Now I'm back to the video that singlehandedly made my brain rot over The Beatles. Thank you CZcams user The Beat Goes On.
Pretty sad when someone bases their whole identity around something like that. I mean you are more than just some bands music. How old are you? It’s usually kids and teenagers that do that, trying to find themselves.

Magical mystery tour is a masterpiece
@Wayne Pitty yes...Every studio album that THEY made is a brilliant masterpiece...
The movie had poor reviews when it was first released in Britain I think mainly because this colourful piece of experimental psychedelic movie-making was shown on TV at Christmas in B & W - yes that's a Magical Mystery Tour with NO COLOUR - and marketed as prime time family entertainment. All the 'square' Mums and Dads and Aunties and Grandparents had no idea what to make of it!
@@papercup2517, the film was crap, they rushed into it to distract themselves from the trauma of Brian Epstein's death. The soundtrack did receive praise, though.
@@ryanblob3105 It was mainly Paul's project, IIUC...of course they were all reeling from the sudden, tragic loss of their manager and mentor. But, despite the circumstances in which it was made, I found the movie very enjoyable when I finally got to watch it, in colour, all the way through. Funny story back in the 60’s when my grandfather was a teenager I think he said he was 17, he was with a friend accompanying him to the airport, they noticed tons of teenage girls holding up signs for something, they didnt really notice what they were though. They got there super early and to kill time they wandered around the airport. They somehow got into the underground area of it and actually saw all 4 of the Beatles hanging out and talking to each other. They were laughing at a joke one of them told. When they saw my grandfather and his friend they got sort of deer in the headlights looks on their faces, turns out those signs were for them and they were hiding out from their fans. They played all Black Music hits… it was proven good already. They just used the radio programming segregation to their advantage. Everybody did it
John & Paul made each other better....they found the missing component in each other & it showed in the lack of that component existing in their solo work. They also made George level up & brought the best out of Ringo's more creative drumming. If they wouldve just went on hiatus & came back together or just continued to evolve by adding variables like maybe getting Brian Wilson to quit the Beach Boys to join them....we'd have so much more to smile & talk about.

I wish you’d talk about hey jude, that’s literally my favourite song of all time
Great song
So hard to cover everything, when everything they did was brilliant! I agree, Hey Jude is amazing.
I literally wore that record out
Their song went like this.
Early sixties: She loves you yeah yeah yeah
Late sixties: Songs about death and depression
Just like most, they were filled with excitement, optimism joys of huge success, in the early days of the 60s, by the mid 60s, they had done it all, movies, cartoons, millions of followers, but as you get older you get cynical, you see all the crap that life has to offer? divorce, drugs, bad health, relationships, so obviously they wrote how they were feeling, and by the late 60s, they weren’t the same happy people that they were in the beginning.
I'm not quite seeing "Here Comes the Sun," "Because," "Back in the USSR," "Dear Prudence," "Hey Jude," "Old Brown Shoe," "Ballad of John and Yoko," "Lady Madonna," and "Octopus's Garden" as having much to do with death and depression, but you are certainly entitled to your odd opinion.

I found the Beatles by accident about 4 years ago. Back then, I used to listen to rap, especially Drake. One Sunday, I was cleaning my house with my brothers and listening to one of Drake's songs "Headlines." My little brother wanted me to pick him up, so I did. But as I bent down, he accidentally stepped on my headphones and my music stopped.
I went to my mother to ask her for help. But before I gave her my kindle, I remembered that the version of "Headlines" I was listening to was explicit, so I had to come up with a way to make it seem like I wasn't listening to that version. I remembered that Rae Srummrd had recorded a song called "Black Beatles", which I found out was a reference to the band themselves.
Quickly, I searched up The Beatles and played the first song I found; "Come Together" from their last album Abbey Road. Though my mother couldn't fix my headphones, I soon decided to listen to "Come Together " for myself, and after that, I fell in love with the Beatles. No longer do I listen to rap music, as the Beatles have literally changed my life for the better. I can sing along with almost all of their songs now! Thank goodness my headphones weren't working that day.

You got it! George Martin, producer and a well-schooled musician to boot. He applied his music theories in arranging the raw song materials of the fab four that galvanized the Beatles' music. Indeed, "Sgt Peppers Lonely Heart's Club Band" was credited to George Martin's great contribution to the said album. Unarguably, the former deserves to be named the Fifth Beatles.
Just so you know but my teacher has played this video in class. One of the best videos i’ve watched
thank you for the history - really enjoyable - watched it over a few hours while searching wiki and YT for videos of their music
"We can work it out" was not on Rubber Soul. It was released on a double A sided single with Day Tripper as the other A side. The single was released the same day as the album
Also Paperback Writer wasn’t in Revolver and Strawberry Fields was in Magical Mystery Tour not Sgt Peppers like he mentioned
@@ThePanzerFreak5 He never said Strawberry Fields Forever was on Sgt Pepper’s, he said it ‘didn’t make the cut’.
love me some of their early stuff
This is a great summary of a great band! As a long-time Beatle fan, former Beatlemaniac, I knew almost all this info, but it was nice to recap.
We've given a Beatle song to each POTUS! czcams.com/video/YjnRYBT-6Pk/video.html
Imagine if Paul McCartney had decided not to go to that church garden party that day.
I feel bad for Pete Best. I can relate to his life a little.
Please do tell us Sandip Biswas..
No one can relate to Pete Best! Or rather, they can relate, but his tale of "almost was..." cannot be, erm, Bested. First run up I suppose goes to 'the man who gave away the Beatles'...Mr "guitar music is on its way out."
@Wayne Pitty His hair is too curly. They can't change it into The Beatles haircut.
Boris Notbadenov2 he’s outlived two of them.
Wayne Pitty no it wasn’t a case of not doing what he was asked. He just wasn’t up to the mark. Or his drumming didn’t suit their sound.
Their bloopers sound like a discord sever.
I agree
Beoderant
When I was a child, my father has a CD case holder filled with countless CD's of different bands. Among all of them, I remembered I played the Beatles the most since I loved all their songs. Nobody told me to play them. I just discovered the CD myself. I became their fan even before realizing how extremely popular they were or even how impactful they were in music history. Just from their songs.
My Beat… I’m flabbergasted and in awe…good for you, my dude, in showcasing your other interests. Bravo!
Decca Records: The Beatles have no future in show business lol.
Brian Epstein: I'M GONNA KICKSTART THIS BAND'S WHOLE CAREER
“We Can Work it Out” did not appear on the “Rubber Soul” album.
And paper back writer was not on revolver!!
Scott Johnston and 🌧
I've just got shocked with that too!!!
And From Me To You and She Loves You are also not on Please Please Me!!!!
@@MommyJess10 Sloppy research. No excuse!
absolutely stellar vids ... so much fun to find that channel and get caught up on your gift of vids
My compliments to you for this history of The Beatles, informative and concise. A pleasure to watch!

this is a wonderfully researched and put together video.
in 6th grade we had a project to make our own website about anything we were passionate about. my first idea was music but i didn’t know what bands i would use as examples etc. so i chose my favorite band ever: The Beatles. it was rlly cool once presentation day came the website opened with “i wanna hold your hand”. everyone loved it.
Can we all agree that one of the best compilations of music by the Beatles is The Beatles: Rock Band
Alex Bernath yes
Corrections.:
05:40 From Me to You and She Loves You are not on Please Please Me
12:48 We Can Work It Out is not on Rubber Soul. It was the B side of Day Tripper
14:33 Paperback Writer is not on Revolver. It is the A side single with Rain on the B side

November 13, 2000. 1 was released
I was born in 2002 and 1 was the album that introduced toddler-me to the Beatles. I have vivid memories of hearing the first song “Love me Do” for the first time, and being so mesmerized by the music and boys’ singing that I would keep the whole album playing on my cd player for hours at a time, even during the night when I was asleep.
(Ps, George is my favorite Beatle)
You should do Pink Floyd next!
That would be cool! They are really good
"John Lennon then left The Beatles "
*Oh no, not this.*
You disagree? I've seen many a video where Paul quite flatly states that John left The Beatles first and thus they broke up.
cpad007 what makes it even more sad is that John flatly created the band
@@niggato23 well there you go then he just ended what he started
I still hate Yoko for this.
@@agnescaballa6545 She is just one of the major causes. Brian Epstein death was the begin8ng of their separation.
4:16 well, I’ll be damned. Ringo has always had that white streak in his hair. Nice!
I had The Beatles Anthology on DVD, and absolutely loved it. I thinks it’s the best docu-series of the band. I can’t understand why it’s not available for streaming. Someone needs to sign off on it so more people can see this amazing documentary of this amazing band.
