  • Check out the upgrade from Overvoltedscooters (on eBay) that took this cool Razor Quad from 24v to 36v. What a difference!!
    Some observations after the update:
    - Power increase by almost 50%
    - Battery life = about 1 hour
    - Easy visual to tell when battery is getting drained
    - Added Reverse (big bonus for this quad)
    - Headlight was actually quite strong!
    Let us know if any questions!

      its soooo fun. Me and my girl actually never wanted kids, 3 yrs ago we decided to stop her birth control and just see what happens , if she gets pregnant then it was meant to be and if not , then we just keep having fun ourselves lol . well she got prego right away and its been a blast. My boy just turned 3 and already hes on our boat all the time, rides with my on our jetski, we got him snowboarding before he could even walk, now hes crushing it, swimming in the pool every day in the summer, we had him on a starter quad at 2 and now he zips around on this bigger one. These are all the things we live for so now Its the best sharing all the fun things we and my wife do, with him.

    • @killerbstech5718
      @killerbstech5718  Před 3 lety +1

      I'll see if we can get some time to open it up. I should have done that during the install, sorry. As for the changing of the direction of the motor, this is handled by the 36v controller unit. The old controller gets replaced and the new controller comes with it's own connections that allow connections to the power source, drive unit, add-ons like reverse, lights, new throttle unit. etc. I did not actually have to add any wiring to existing motor unit.

      @killerbstech5718  Před 4 lety

      I'm not aware of any services that do this but trust me, if I can do it, you can do it. The instructions are pretty good and I'm happy to help with specific questions. I did put a link to the core 36v upgrade kit in the video description. The hardest part of the upgrade is wiggling the extra 12v battery into the front part of the frame but even this is not too hard. Your nephew will love it and it extends the playtime by another 30-45 minutes as well!

      For sure - get that 36v upgrade kit. Takes about an hour to do if you have tools handy. Makes the unit SO much better and your child will continue to use it for years to come. You'll see that my property is a bit rough so this will take its toll on the motor over time. I had to replace my older kids 36v motor on his Quad 500 unit. Have fun - thanks for stopping by!

    • @killerbstech5718
      @killerbstech5718  Před 2 lety

      No - you just charge through the normal port. The upgrade kit does come with a beefier charger but that's it!

  • @zombieapocalypsecherokee9224

    That's awesome 😁👍I'm seriously considering getting this quad for my Goddaughter 7th birthday. Iv read the reviews and it seems most people's complaints are that the batteries are cheap. It's nice to know they sell upgrades thanks for sharing. I see this was posted a year ago how is the quad doing is it still going strong 💪?

    • @killerbstech5718
      @killerbstech5718  Před 3 lety +2

      Still going strong. It's been a great update to the quad and the boys love it. This one worked so well that I upgraded my other son's 36v Quad 500 to 48v. I think the battery system is not bad. Maybe too high of expectations from other reviewers but we get about an hour on our property which is pretty hilly and rough. On a more level property and even streets, I would say you'd get 60-90 minutes. Just take a break - have some lunch and recharge. :) Thanks for the comments!

      @william Cranston Hey William thanks for all the info I actually did get the quad and it is AWESOME my little one loves it. When I ordered the quad I also got a 12v 5amp hour SLA battery and a set of strobe lights Red/White I put the 2 white in front and the reds in back was able to squeeze and strap the battery in front of the battery box between the body bar fit perfectly so I have a separate battery for the lights 12v and any accessories. I'm actually waiting right now on and Amazon order with a USB 2 port charger the shape of a cigarette outlet for a car and led 3ft whip that will be the only mods I have done so far I figure for Christmas I'll upgrade to 36v and get the reverse switch and new throttle with the key ignition and digital battery volt read. Really everywhere we go she is turning heads with it and there are soooo many options for mods on these quads. I'm probably going to make a video on the mods iv done in a few days I'll make sure to come by and share a link so you can see the mods iv done
      Thanks for all the generous info greatly appreciated 😁👍

    Does he have to use the brake before upgrade? Like does it naturally slow down after throttle is fully lifted or does it coast? My almost 3 year old has his showing up soon he broke our 18v converted power wheels quad lol

    • @killerbstech5718
      @killerbstech5718  Před 2 lety +2

      No - by virtue of being an electric motor it will slow itself down as the voltage is removed from it (throttle). The brake is really only needed for harder stopping and maneuvering.

    • @killerbstech5718
      @killerbstech5718  Před 3 lety +1

      You would still need to get their controller head unit and then get the reverse option. It's up to you if you want to use the added 12v battery to make it 36v or just stay with the 24v power. You would, though, need the upgrade kit since it has the new controller that allows the reverse, lights, etc. Hope this helps!!

      Kit is holding up great. Our property is pretty demanding and kids love it - especially when friends come over. We upgrade the 24V dirt bike as well and they love cruising around the house! As I mentioned in another recent comment - adding some more support the new battery is helpful - we used a couple of small bungees to add that extra support.
