- Now I have finished the TET in Cornwall, I am pressing up and doing the Devon TET.
This video covers over half of the Devon Trans Euro Trail / GWT (Great Western Trail), Everything from the Cornwall border up to Exeter, and back.
(Going clockwise on the TET)
Notes-
I am doing this on my mostly stock Honda CRF300L.
This part of the TET Devon took me about 2 days, but bare in mind that includes travel up from the end of Cornwall, and back.
Using Osmond Maps app on my iPhone to navigate TET. (I did a video on how to do that if you need it.)
Link to that vid - • How to GPX! Creating g...
The locations of the two Hazards I point out are-
Just after Teignmouth = Hazard1
Just before Ludbrook = Hazard 2
That fallen tree hazard at Shaldon has since been removed by Devon TRF members.
Thanks. I’ll flag your comment.
if you just want to skip to the footage, jump to 06:30
Really nice footage and sound advice. Proper job mate!
Cheers - really enjoyed that 👍
Great footage, I'm gunna share this to someone I know so they can see what there gunna expect next year👍
Nice one I’ve done from Salisbury to Sidmouth in a day did road up to Salisbury then back on the GWT 220 miles in a day 😬looking at doing Sidmouth to Plymouth next
My old stamping ground. The last time I rode here was in the early 90s on my pre 65 Ariel 470.
appreciate this view point as it stops me wasting my time - i like the trails to be much harder ala wales/peaks etc- the cornwall section is useless for me so i thank you for the vids, i had hoped it would hold some nic routes that i could link in with a beach trip but it isn't worth the miles on knobbies - crossing fingers for the devon area as i know there are a shedload of mad trails down there, just not sure if they are TET or not....watching with hope hahaha
Very useful thanks! Thinking of doing that part pf the TET in the next couple of months
Glad it was useful. Yep get on it before rainy season. Would be much harder slog in lots of mud
What bike you taking?
@@biscuitsalive I've a 300L like yourself. Was going to have taken it for a group trail riding tour in the Alps but that's cancelled so I figured I might do some trails in Dorset and then around some of Devon time permitting. I only started trail riding this year and I'd be going solo so not looking to do anything overly risky. I've had a bunch of training and been on a led trip in Snowdonia so I'm going into it with my eyes open anyway
@@alexjson sweet. Well if u make it down as far as Cornwall I’m happy to join you on some sections. (I live in hayle)
I will do more of Devon soon. But not sure when that’s happening yet
@@biscuitsalive cool, I'll take you up on that if I'm down that way. I've never been to Cornwall so it's definitely on the todo list. Looking forward to the next Devon video when you get around to it
Great thanks for sharing. We (wife and I) are starting to explore the green roads (slowly) around Devon and Cornwall having recently moved back to Devon. Have you heard of the MCC LDT? I've done two now (Exeter and Lands End) and my wife has done the Lands End once. We found them great fun.
MCC LDT, no I haven’t. I will look that up now thanks. :)
So - motor cycle club long distance trails, is that right?
Neither had we until earlier this year when my mate asked if I wanted to give it a go. He’s got some vids in his CZcams. Will ping you a link. Wasn’t sure I’d manage to stay awake but did and loved every minute of it.
Yes that’s the one, sorry I should have written it in full or given you a link!
@@biscuitsalive link to my mates CZcams, he’s got some vids from when he’s done MCC events. czcams.com/channels/flPbPItTMlkYLcSiI8XkwA.html
Love seeing the hazards highlighted, far too many TET'ers have a 'iTs An AdVnSHure' attitude when it comes to letting people know things might be hard (never ask if there should be colour grading like for skiing in a TET group, they get quite vitriolic).
If people are planning a big long trip, they want some idea of the main tricky parts. In my opinion.
It’s not to put people off. It’s just to show what tyres, bike and tools etc they may need to check out some bits that could cause a minor problem. (Or major problem if you are on a big heavy bike on road tyres etc)
@@biscuitsalive exactly. I’d love to know what’s in store so I don’t have to get too deep before turning around.
@@biscuitsalive Exactly!
Would hazard 2 be even possible in the other direction do you think?
@@motomoto2296 yep I know people that have done it.
But very skill/tyre/conditions dependant.
what maps you use
So you mean app for nav on bike?
I did a vid on what I use to make gpx and get them on phone. (Also how to find local byways)

Hey bud I was wondering can we get in contact?
Hi. Yep my email address is on my “about” section on the channel.
(It’s an old address but I still check it now and again)
Hazards 2 the devil's steps. The route should and can go around it. Turn left at the top.
Good to know. Thanks.
