Hey Mike!
Definitely a noticeable difference!! I love that splitter!! It sure made pretty splits too!!
Enjoyed it!! 👊🏻🔥🪵
Thanks Jacob!
I am blessed with a lot of straight easy splitting red oak in these parts....that 24D would zoooom.! Thanks for sharing.
That sounds nice. If you want to try your hand at some nasty, twisted maple, come on over!
Some years back I bought 6 cord or so of what turned out to be a hard curly maple. Worked thru it with a SuperSplit...not fun 😂
Mike that’s a nice feature of having axial piston pumps with adjustable load sensing. Careful with that speed. The only thing increasing is the unloaded state which in turn is slamming rod piston into both ends of the cylinder. Constant banging of rod piston into cylinder base is gonna cause damage. I said years ago if EM is gonna push these speeds they need to install cushion valving into these 24/37d cylinders. All wood splitters have cushioning installed on there high end/high speed models.
I don’t know much about the mechanics of it. I turned it up on the recommendation of the manufacturer. I don’t see myself wearing anything out. But you never know I suppose.
Production mode engaged!😬 I do like looooog splitters! 😆 Take care Mike!
I know you like my tttrraaaccctttoooorrr too. I was thinking I could drag “log splitter” out long enough to get them both pictured during my commentary. That didn’t work out 🤣
Hey Mike , that pull back arm was moving . At first I thought you had it in time lapse !! 👍🏻🪵🔥
Hi Del! It seems like it’s in time lapse!
Mike! You own an axis and a 24D!? You're living my dream buddy. That thing is lightening fast by the end of the video. Like the camera work, like the editing. Big fan of the channel my man
Hey there! Thanks watching! I appreciate the kind words. I feel the same about your stuff. I’ll be watching!
Noticeably faster adjusting the pump. Job well done.
Thanks Bert! Silly fast.
Quite an improvement Mike. She’s a moving now. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
Yep. It’s really coming and going now!
Making that 24D SCREAMING, THATS A HECK OF A MACHINE,
You are correct!
Make the big girl scream Mike!
You were the first one to comment! ❤️🤣
I like the way it sounds running the lift.
Me too! That diesel engine is fun to run!
You’ve got that thing hummin Mike! I’m ok with the speed on my 22-28 but I need to adjust the kick out pressure on the auto cycle…, easy adjustment I believe. I’m agonizing over not being able to make the Hysteria but budget and time is keeping me from coming 😢.
Hi DW! I know it’s a long trip. We’d love for you to be there but completely understand! Don’t agonize over it.
She definitely fast. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Dan!
Nice chat with you guys the other day. Looks like this was speeding up nicely..😉👍
Moving right along!
Looks like you have the Detent adjusted well. The return speed is amazing. Which I could attend the event, I hope you guys have a great time.
It’s adjusted just about right! Hoping the event goes well!
It's moving for sure, might be the fastest splitter I've ever seen.Watch that pull back arm if it gets wedged, it might get a little rowdy on the return.
Yes, it’s fast! You gotta have your operator hand ready if the pull back arm goes wonky to stop the retraction. Takes some getting use to but I love it!
Nice video Mike
Thanks Adam!
Hello Mike, It’s a Hot Rod Now😂🤘🏻🪵🇺🇸
Yes! Hot Rod mode!
That thing is flyin! I hope you don't get a piece stuck in the wedge. That pull back arm won't stand a chance. - Tim
It’s probably only a matter of time…
I’d say you turned it up😂 Wow 12-22 was screaming! See ya soon brother 👊🏻
Just a few weeks! 👍
Beautiful splits coming out of that box wedge
With the right round makes REALLY nice pieces!
Mike the 24 D come back fast remember went go ahead the pump down into the 2 stage to push threw the firewood 🪵 to crack the block Mike . If the cycle moving forward it working for you . Same as D 10 Cat if the track are moving it pushing materials same idea buddy . 😊
Yes sir!
Man the 24D is crazy fast! Investing in some already processed firewood? Take care Mike👍👊👍
Yes she is! And there may or may not be an upcoming video on the newly acquired firewood…
Lol....it looks almost like a cartoon at the end.
It’s flat movin’!
I think that pullback is approaching terminal velocity. 🤣 I'm fired up about HFH24 Mike, looking forward to it. Looks like my son Alex will be attending so long as he can get those days off. Hoping to bring my father-in-law as well since he is a Vietnam veteran. I think he would have a great time there. See you all soon! Stacey Weston
Hi Stacey! Did you get my email reply? We’re getting excited too. It will be here before you know it.
@@KNLFirewood Absolutely, been chatting with a few guys about it. We're gearing up!
Noticeable difference Mike.
Thanks Bobby!
That is noticeably faster!!
It really is.
It's definitely faster. That return is scary fast IMO pulling a big round back that fast.
Gotta keep your head in the game.
@@KNLFirewood no kidding
return speed was the only thing notable, otherwise the inconsistency of the wood straight twisty crotchy leaves to many variables to judge.
Those last few passes you can tell it’s moving faster in both directions. But no doubt you’re correct. The quality of the wood is a factor!
Man that’s I like night and day from begging to end. The return is crazy fast. So toward the end you notice the Kubota working a lot more. Next step you’re going to need a turbo put on the Kubota diesel. So I think that truck load of wood that was dumped by you house maybe a new venture for you. I’m guessing that you’re buying kiln dried firewood to resplit for pizza ovens. Smoker wood and small stoves like the warm bonds and solo stoves. Take care buddy. 40 days left . HFH
You’re close on the “new” venture. It’s in an upcoming video! Down to the days!
It gets notanky faster just kinda worried about the cylinder!! I know they are a wearable item, but will tgis speed up the time frame?? Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Hi David! I do not know. I haven’t seen anything EM has made wear out yet.
you may want to chuck them wheels with how fast that return pulls back, don't want her rolling away from ya haha
I thought about it! It rocks the whole machine!
That is very quick.
Hi Darrin!
How are things?@@KNLFirewood
@woodruffwoods good brother! Things good with you and the fam?
Yeah we are all doing good. All adjusted to Dallas being away at college and have a firewood business that is just crazy.@@KNLFirewood
I’d say you definitely picked up a little time 🤯😳
It’s moving now!
My wife is counting down the days
She’s more excited than you are about firewood? 😳
@KNLFirewood she's been doing it alot longer than me.i married into it and fell in love.
So is it reduced restriction of flow back to tank?
Or an rpm increase of the engine gov?
I don't see a bigger pump being approved by EM.
I know very little about the mechanics of hydraulics. I did not adjust the rpms. I was adjusting some other do-hicky on the guidance of EM.
I just got a box wedge for my 12-22, what is the measurement between the pusher and the pullback bar? Your pullback portion of the arm is even with your box wedge, mine overhangs the wedge. My distance measures 23.5"
I don’t know. Stand by…I’ll run out and check.
Just measured…23.5” between pusher and pullback arm. The plate on the pullback arm over hangs the wedge a tad. There is a little play in the arm assembly so depending, it sets anywhere from flush to 3/4” overhang. As long as yours doesn’t hang over so much that it gets caught on the push you should be ok.
So it is the same. Thank you so much for checking, I thought mine might be built wrong.
The fact that you only have one person running this machine tells me you absolutely do NOT need to speed up the cycle time. The amount of damage you're doing to that machine for your perceived time savings is ludacris. Any piece of equipment getting slammed around that hard will self-destruct sooner than it would if used at a more nominal rate.
Maybe?? Time will tell I suppose. Stay tuned!
Wondering if you have ever watched any of Andrew’s videos when he test them, they slam around like crazy! I’d say it’ll be just fine but like you said time will tell. And if Eastonmade is coaching you on it I’d say they’re confident in that or would tell you not to do it.
@@mattschmitt4038 Ha, yeah I have watched quite a few of his videos, and regardless it's how hydraulics work. I am very familiar how the EM splitters function.
@@tstep522 4 years strong with mine.
Thats just insanity at its best.. what did you adjust?..
There’s a double top secret turbo toggle switch I had to turn on! 😉
