All I can say base on experience ay ito . When my niece came to California in 2001 as a tourist, she decided through the encouragement of family member to try and stay here in America by taking the board exam for medical technologist which she did . Her 6 mos. Stay got extended for another 6 mos. For compelling reason. She took the opportunity to study for the test and eventually passed it. She only got 4 months to looked for a job and a sponsor. By having 2 years experienced at De la Salle University medical center prior coming to the U.S she landed a job and sponsorship in one of the hospitals here in California. Today, there is a tough road ahead for other aspiring laboratory scientists but still achievable if you come prepared. Make sure friends and relatives will lend a hand to make it possible within a year. Hope this will help
I did the same in 2006. Came as tourist. 6 mth visa. Took NcLEX here in Cali. Looked for an employer willing to sponsor and found one. They paid all lawyer fees, etc. They even gave me a sign-on and relocation bonus. I was very lucky. Came in March and started working in August, less than 6 mths. Did not even have to extend my tourist visa since the lawyer got me a working permit pending my green card issuance. Goodluck to all. If there is a will, there is a way.
Yung med tech po na doctor sa Pinas might want to consider reaching out to this staffing agency who are placing Med Techs in the US if he wants to practice as one.

You hear talk like “why did you become a nurse (like it’s a lower kind of profession) when you are already a doctor?” Honestly here, II practice my clinical assessment and thinking. I discuss my patient’s care with the primary MD and they listen to the nurses. They are open to our suggestions and even ask us what we think should be done. And I do not hesitate to say what I think. Sometimes, when working with new residents, I have to “train” them. 😂
It’s easier to be practicing MD in Canada since there’s a huge shortage, just have to challenge the board. Second class is just a perception since our credentials are not accepted so with other nationals who migrated. As to social status, it’s just a perception, whether you’re poor or rich in Canada, it doesn’t matter, I don’t know where you got that perception in Canada.
