This song is from a 2010/11 themed album, THE UNFORGIVING, which to many, appears to be a fan-least-favorite, being a great departure from all prior works. It was produced to follow an Adult Graphic Art/conic book series, of same name.... I preferred their next album , HYDRA, more.... most s I ngs on that are more solid than those on The Unforgiving. I did go see them in North America, on both those album tours.... NOTE, Sharon avails herself to fans.. LOVE HER ..
I do not know the story behind this song, but I know it has always made me think about my Brother as he was in the hospital dying from cancer. The line "Don't be scared now close your eyes, she hold guard tonight" makes me cry everytime
Incredibly beautiful song which indeed hits hard. It reminds me of their earlier song In Perfect Harmony from the Mother Earth album, which has the same vibe. Nice pictures of Sharon too🤘
Love to see you back on a WT kick! The Last Dance is one of my favorite, little-known tracks of theirs. It’s got such an interesting feel, almost like a folk legend, to me. Like a magical tale that’s equally a warning and a comfort. Sharon’s ad-libs also kinda remind me of this Epica song called Fools of Damnation, though they go for a more Arabesque feel. Two others I’m looking forward to you hearing are The Swan Song and Empty Eyes-Empty Eyes is from the Unforgiving as well! And Idk who its “about,” but a lot of their ballads have similar themes about death/life after death. The Unforgiving has another one of my favorite ballads from them called Lost. I think you’ll love it, if you haven’t heard it already. Sharon’s voice is incredible and holds so much emotion.
What an emotional ride....Sharon's voice pierced my soul. I haven't felt this way since way back with another tear-jerking track - "Memories": czcams.com/video/gsQIOgkZt68/video.html
I saw once a fanvideo of this on Avatar (Hollywood one not the last airbender) and I can hardly imagine it for anything else after this. But, seeing as this is on the Unforgiving which had the whole thing with Mother Maiden bringing people back from the dead and turning them into vigilantes kinda... I guess this is probably what it is about, someone who got resurrected and is trying to contact her loved one :). ...Which reminds me, you don't know The Unforgiving, do you? You did some songs from it but you didn't do the feature films and honestly? With your possibly haunted house and your attraction to horror stuff? You are missing out a bit :D
With any prolyphic group, there HAS to be a relative, BOTTOM 5 tracks (ones you nay skip past).... for me, this is one of them. Nonetheless, Sharon's sound is fantastic.

Welcome to the family! You'll never got enough of Within Temptation!! 💖💖
One of my favourite song of theirs..It's hauntingly beautiful.

It's a hidden gold song. You should react to the live version of this song. It's part of the ''Elements'' concert set list
So so many Within Temptation reactions already and still "Shot in the dark" is not with them🤔. Unbelievable😂heh😉
Great reactions👍, keep them coming🤘

Why this song is only a bonus track on some versions of The Unforgiving album is a complete mystery to me.
Do 'say my name' next!!
Great:-)
And There's many you haven't done yet...
The My Indigo music video will hit you hard too, I promise;)

Now you understand why WT are being compared to Evanescence.
It shoud be Evanescence are being compared to Within Temptation because WT had already released two albums before Evanescence released their first.
Pas op jongen, Sharon is te aantrekkelijk. Nie verliefd op zijn
