- In this video, I rank every legendary power weapon in Destiny 2 for PVE in a tier list. If you find yourself wondering what the best power weapons are in the game, this video should help. Apparently some of my picks in the last video were a little... controversial. So you've been warned.
Here's the final tier list:

Forgot Retrofit Escapade somehow... it's not quite S tier imo but it's close. Fourth times target lock can put out some solid dps, but the volatile bug got fixed so you're still better off using a linear. Solid add and yellow bar clear though. High A-tier.
I think retrofit will be a good machine gun next season if it gets a buff which I believe it will in lightfall. I will be happy with a machine gun buff I’ve got the swarm with the OG god roll of bottomless grief vorpal which use to put in some work but I think there r better options now
With how late this released I'd be putting Retrofit into S tier just because of linears getting knocked down a peg in S20.
Machine Guns get a 10% dmg buff and a 50% low reserves/20% high reserves buff I believe, won't do too much, but it doesn't hurt.
It's a Void machine gun with decent dps, so I love using it in GM so I can clear adds and turn invis with gyrfalcon.

I might have missed it, but did you forget the retrofit escapade?
The hothead tracking thing is because the adept one comes with tracking as a selectable perk on every adept drop
Ohh that makes sense
Thats simply not true, atleast not from last season.
@@darkwolf1739 🤓🤓🤓
Let me make a correction: The time hothead was a nightfall drop for LAKE OF SHADOWS the selectable perk was tracking on adepts. I can't confirm for other nightfalls.
Bequest naturally does more damage than other adaptive frames as it comes with 10 more impact by default
Did not know that, huh
No, it's because it plays a voice clip of Clovis Bray insulting the enemy every time it hits and enemy, causing extra emotional damage.
i like "typhon GL5" and "Bump in the night" on the Warlock starfire protocol build. allows you to easily spam your heavy ammo while you spam fusion grenades and witherhaord shots during DPS phases with the (demo+explosive light on TYPHON) and (Demo+Chill Clip on BUMP).
Yep. The Typhon underwhelmed me at first but hopefully a nice 20% bump to it’s damage will make it feel better. The BITN with Demo/Chill was something I accidentally stumbled upon before I ever saw any videos on it and it definitely did NOT underwhelm. When I became privy to the fact that when it has Wolfpack rounds from a friendly ghorn; each single Wolfpack does a significant amount of slow stacks as well (I think each one does 50 just like the main rocket) I was blown away. I like 2 of them in a team just to keep the boss freezing and shattering as fast as possible with no potential downtime. With only one I notice chunks of downtime when the player using chill clip is rotating through their other weapons and thus not firing rockets. I found it rare that both my teammate and I would be off rockets and rotating through other weapons at the same time.
Bump is good but I almost always go with my demo explosive light hothead for the demo RL roll.
@@xdifficultviper9916 I will be focusing for that next season. That roll eluded me. I have auto loading/vorpal, ensemble/ clown or tracking/ EL. I wish I kept farming that fallen Saber week during season 16. I honestly didn’t even know what roll I was really going for so I just kept some that I thought would be good. Turns out I missed the one I wanted.
Hezen > BITN
@@InfiniteMeerkat71 not really
Some small notes on the Rockets, from a rocket enthousiast:
-Hothead has a really good roll of Field Prep/Clown Cartridge, which is some of the highest raw DPS in the entire game [Royal Entry can also get this, but is precision frame], Demo with Clown Cartridge unfortunately only still gives 1 in the mag, you need to manual reload to get Clown to proc
-Roar of the Bear is very, very good for Starfire because of Demo/Lasting, and being solar benefits from Font of Might
-Blowout can get Demo/Explosive Light, which is another banger of a Starfire rocket
-Enhanced field prep on crafted rockets with rocket reserves can get you 9 or 10 rockets on some of the frames, which is silly
Tracking module is almost never a good option imo, its popularity is probably because people can't aim
"its popularity is probably because people can't aim" You god damn right...…..that's why i love it. "Hitting a target does more damage than missing a target" -- Sun Tzu
i think people used tracking for certain gms where few champs just JUMP around a lot (looking at barriers on that, specifically the vex ones)
@@Bookerjj and that's 100% fair, it is indeed always better to not miss the rocket, and if you struggle to get hits without tracking then by all means slap it on
Thats why I like to use Tracking Module, some enemies can dodge a rocket and its just annoying. Its a skill issue for sure, but its just a great utility perk I like to use especially for nightfalls.
I think that tracking modules popularity is also from people being so used to the old palmyra meta and other tracking rockets. It’s essentially exchanging a 3rd column perk for a sizable damage boost if you directly compare it to palmyras which is a pretty decent trade off
Loved the 3 videos doing the legendary weapons. My friends just came back to d2 and this is amazing for them
Incandecent is currently bugged paired with vorpal so that all burned targets explode too when they die to burn damage, creating a chain reaction. Cry Munity has both and it is really good
Thank you for this 3 videos, help a lot
Thanks for these. Well done.
4:03 I'm not 100% certain, but given that it was one of the first three Legendary weapons (Xenoclast and Stars In Shadow being the other two) to use the same model as White, Green, and Blue weapons, something the community had wanted since their designs were generally quite well liked, the name "Crowd Pleaser" could possibly refer to them responding to that feedback.
in terms of explosive light, there's going to be a lot more ways to generate orbs of power with buildcrafting 2.0
I have 6 rolls of bad omens, all with cluster bomb, I know it's not the best but it holds nostalgic feeling for me
I just got back into destiny again, and it's the rocket launcher I'm using lol. Was sad when I saw it so low haha
One merit to the Razor’s Edge, is without Lament or Forbearance, its a solid choice for taking on multiple high level opponents in a pinch (and any low level enemies trying to stop you), especially in close quarters or behind defenses where its too close for a launcher and too numerous of enemies for the Taipan.
my personal role i have been using for such along time on commeration is recon and unrelenting it super good for how effective it is at keeping you alive in tough solo content
Quickfang does roughly the same dps as crown splitter and falling guillotine with the light-heavy air combo, and gets a lightweight bonus. It's most certainly not D tier.
using the heavy slash with one for all active does 85k+ damage :)
Ive done easily 110k damage with crownsplitter with a max charge whirlwind blade and a heavy attack
@@LordSauron22 crownsplitter is goated tbh, us hunters simply dont get the privilege to use it (nor the muscle mass to hold it) :((
The tracking thing on hot head is because it always rolls with tracking as a selectable alternate perk, kinda like bottomless grief on hung jury
I feel like red herring can do really well with explosive light and volatile rounds
Crown splitter was amazing in the splicer season because of some bug from the artifact, only time that I remember bringing a sword to a grandmaster
And boi that thing slapped. One heavy hit and the champions or mini bosses were gone without any problem
Your a man with good taste, in the background playing Stewart Copeland.
as a solar lock, i like that typhoon with demo + explosive very much, i would say it is second to adept wendigo, just because it can get adept big ones, otherwise, i prefer typhoon
The curated version of Bad Omens rolls with Volatile Launch, Impact Casing, Tracking and Cluster Bombs with a Blast Radius MW.
That version was only obtained via the progression rewards prior to the change to vendors. But it a unique roll that is no longer available to earn.
I kept my Curated Bad Omens and Trust.
Have curated and 5 other similar rolls of bad omens. It's my favorite rocket launcher in game
Hear me out, if they redo VOG weapons at some point to give them there origin traits, corrective measure with rewind rounds and target lock would be the next retrofit, I think atm it rolls rewind/high impact which is decent. Also I ended up making Bequest a more ad clear focused wep, chain reaction/Wellspring with that origin trait lets you ability spam, not amazing ideally but atleast it has a use.
Idk bout roar of the bear, the fact that you can shoot nearly three rockets simultaneously with star fires makes it super nice for me, it’s especially good whenever there was a solar burn
Was using one to farm nightfalls this week, and it was putting in work. It's probably the best legendary solar rocket imo
@@Mungusss must have forgotten about timelost hezen
@@InfiniteMeerkat71 no demo + damage perk on hezen so not as neat unfortunately
@@johng479 definitely has demo, and auto, and overflow.
@@InfiniteMeerkat71 I meant no damage perk + demo cuz they share a column. You can get a lot more out of hot head and blowout and so on
Zephyr is such a good sword. I run it on my stasis hunter all the time and it’s so fun to just dodge around freezing things over and over again
Thermal Erosion can roll dragonfly which is criminally slept on for solar builds. That being said, the MGs with incandescent are probably just better
Blow out is criminally underrated. I have a few rolls with 6 perks. I have one with demo or field prep in first column with lasting impression, chain reaction and explosive light in the second column. In a demo build u could shoot 4 rockets with last impressions basicly all at once
Agreed. It's a good rocket for new lights that can't currently obtain hothead.
For as much blowouts as I have gotten and still get I never seem to get one with explosive light
Tell me you're a crucible main without telling me you're a crucible main:
Hothead godroll is field prep and clown cartridge. Filed prep gives you more reserves and faster reload for some the highest boss dps in the game with gally
Fine memorial is amazing. Got me a 100% roll.
Put typhoon higher. Got explosive light demo with spike and it destroys. I just randomly got it and loved it.
I am an Apex Predator enjoyer. ALH + Tracking is just handy for casual content imo
Swords that shoot projectiles should shoot out a horizontal and then immediately a vertical one also sending you in the air slightly, make them into like a combo weapon, and maybe slap chain reaction onto them for much better add clear
My bad omens with volatile launch, impact casing, tracking module and cluster bomb is pretty fun tbh I just wish it had ambitious assassin and it would be 👌
Quickfang in D tier is simply a skill issue I'm afraid. The light-heavy air combo technique bumps its dps like crazy and makes it feel as cool as it looks
the reason so many have tracking on hothead is bc it used to roll tracking as an option on every adept drop as an option
there is no shot you put sleepless in a tier my mind is frying
crazy seeing how fast metas can change seeing apex be D tier and 3 months later its the best dps rocket in the game
Hot take, corrective messure > commemoration. Reason being: subsistence/demo and fire fly. It just feels too damn good in high end content like legend/master lost sectors and nightfalls. Very good for crowd control due to firefly (a better dragon fly) and not too shabby for single target damage due to subsistence. At the very least it's S tier for me.
Subsistence partially reloads on rapid kills, how does that help with single target damage
hothead autoloading explosive paired with izzi, thats why its so popular
Could have made the Argument for fire and forget S Tier for being the only Linear that rolls chill Clip, which will become an S Tier perk in Lightfall.
True, although I'd rather not use my heavy to stun champs
it's funny actually that i used night terror to melt gambit bosses right before guillotine came out. i had the exact god roll needed (relentless whirlwind)
Posh accent. Awesome video. I’m new to game. This was a fun watch
Can you make a video or consider making a video that explains weapon frames and what makes different frames better for the current meta? I still don’t entirely understand weapon frames and how they can inherently make or break a roll.
The only reason I don't use Crown Splitter is because Lament exist. Vorpal or Whirlwind blade(if its a longer damage window), relentless strikes paired up with lucent blade is a damn good deal.
Also you should use explosive light over lasting impression if it's available
Good list this one and the primary one were pretty accurate in terms of objective stance but your special weapon video felt a bit too personalised for me to recommend it to people who are new especially with how many slugs you put high up even tho they aren't in the meta but overall this video was really good
"Apex Predator is at the bottom" has not aged well
Hothead with demo and explosive light is also very strong. It's the roll I use and highly recommend
My typhon with demo explosive light will be one of my top heavy gls as I got perfect everything on it. Quick launch or hard launch and velocity masterwork and I’ll use it over wendigo unless arc burn or arc shields because to me any weapon that gets demo plus a damage perk is a big deal and strong
I managed to get myself an impulse amplifier explosive light roll myself, guess we'll see if they're any good in lightfall
Red herring outdamages anything other than hothead because enhanced field prep gives two extra rockets. With enhanced field prep and a reserves mod you get 11 rockets compared to 7 normally. Lasting impression is the second best damage perk after explosive light. Plus it’s adaptive so it does the most damage of the frames. It’s certainly better than random crap like sleepless and heretic that you put two tiers above it.
More ammo and with a Void Hunter with Gyre Falcons this rocket does the most total damage and field prep and buffing the reload speed puts it into one of the highest DPS's out of the rockets even now.
Rockets with demo are incredibly powerful. Hezen with overflow demo is insane on starfire warlock.
Bequest is funny because it's an adaptive that just does more damage passively for some reason
So its weird that you chose to put this out literally a day before a new expansion and tons of damage changes lol
You forgot Hammerhead machine gun. I just broke it out for gambit and it still rocks. Even tho it’s sunset. The curated version with armour piercing rounds still gets the invading guardians.
did you miss that Bequest and Crown Splitter have naturally higher Impact, making them better dps than all swords at base?
Crown Splitter has the most redic heavy attack out of all swords. It hits HARD. Should have bumped it up a rank for this fact alone.
He probably never saw its insanity in splicer.
Can you do a exotic tierlist ? Thanks
What is todays question? “No clue” had me rolling
We gonna need a new tier list for all the weapone lol
Hilarious about corsairs wrath. I had the exact same roll and erased it for the exact same reason.
My bad omens has never failed me... cluster op for legend sectors
Roar of the bear in B teir is outrageous. It is one of the best in not the best dps weapons on solar warlock due to it getting font of might with starfire
Good thing about swords though, they still 1shot pretty much everything without any ammo. So makes sword kill bounties etc pretty easy
I think linears will still be good in some activities and fire n forget I’ll still use in stasis builds easy font of might plus I love headstone chill clip it’s really good
font is getting removed, also veist stinger was the only reason fire and forget was, good. now its one of, if not the worst linear in the game
@@markusvuori I'd prefer it over reeds just because each hit has the potential of proccing veist stinger, also its total damage is the closest to Cataclysmic
@@hectornieves537 over reeds yes, but since cata and rockets exist, imo not even worth thinking about
@Markus Vuori true, js in terms of stasis linears lol
Brave of you to do this before Lightfall drops
I'd already scripted in "this will be good in lightfall" so I couldn't wait until afterwards lol
For Chain of Command you said adaptive munitions might not be good but you're also forgetting that Bungie made all shields have 50% damage resist to any non matched damage. This makes shields way tougher, especially when you consider we now can't be overleveled for almost anything.
50% damage buff for us actually
All adept hotheads had tracking for a second perk so thats why (idk if it was sarcasm but eh)
bruh red herring is actually an amazing rocket launcher wtf
u miss RETROFIT ESCAPADE the best machine gun
Literally every weapon with good damage that has to use demo is amazing on warlock, like typhon, bump in the night hothead etc
Wait, Clown Cartridge synergizes with Auto-loading and Demo now? When did that happen?
Retrofit is absolutely S Tier now. My Void setup hit 4million damage on Nezerac.
Gonna have to disagree on the placement for Bequest. Bequest has a base impact stat of 70 which is 10 higher than most swords. This lets its heavy attack do the same as Guillotine’s while using less ammo and dealing more on light attacks. It also now has Vorpal which is just a really consistent damage perk that already stacks with it basically having built in Vorpal. From my tests Bequest outperforms Guillotine in every scenario now. I think people just jump to assume it’s bad because it used to be, plus Guillotine just has so much nostalgia behind it.
Hi! Im from the future. Apex Predator is top of the food chain now.
Caster frames need ONE. GOOD. PERK, for them to be good. Imagine a Bait and Switch level perk on the next Caster Frame sword
hoping for a machine gun meta someday
That would be great
putting bequest in d tier caused me physical pain, there is no way it belongs in d tier, at least b.
Just one thing...Chain Reaction is near useless on swords as you will likely kill everything in range before you get it to proc. One For All is clearly the superior pick where present.
Full court doesn't work how its supposed too, It counts the seconds the nade has been in the air and adjusts the DMG, 1.2seconds to get max dmg.
I know corsairs wrath isn't that good but omg it has an amazing fell to it
lasting impression rocket launcher with 28 pvp kills, my beloved
How is Taipan worse than perfect Reed’s roll when you can craft it with the same roll?
god roll for hot head is actually auto el for izi swaps :D
Okay, the existence of the "Night Terror" sword is actually probably the reason we didn't get a "Night Terror" weapon from Nezarec in the root of nightmares.......Big sad
i’m pretty sure highest dps meta is 6 starfire locks with 3 hotheads, 1 gally, 1 two tailed fox, 1 bump in the night with chill clip. hothead is def deserving of that s tier
oof
@@SentientMattress531 ??
You guys remember when the Crown Splitter would hit with like, 500k damage
Typhoon might be better on grenade builds than wendigo
9:25 "There's something about BRIGHT RED ROCKETS that automatically make them good."

Fixed odds is easily high A tier on warlock with the right build. Ignitions are insane.
Not my bad omens 😭. I use it sense it has clusters and it reloads in a period time. I can get it up to 90k dps
Fixed odds should be higher in pve then both 450RPM solars because of enhanced incandescent, game changer
Why not
Terminus Horizon w/ Triple Tap/Target Lock?
Uhhh, it does spectacular damage...
Forbearance was a mistake that powercreeped all add clearing options. heavy, special, primary (especially those!! They are almost useless now) Unfortunately. At some point it became extremely boring to use.
Fixed Odds in B tier is a borderline hate crime. That thing shreds hordes in 1 or 2 shots with incandescent, and it chews through mininibosses in about half a mag even in master raids. It's basically a legendary xenophage but with much, much more ammo.
Easy S tier imo.
how can you put the aggresive burst linears below cataclysmic? 3 burst linears to roughly 30% more dmg per bullet than any other linear. yes four times the charm is a very good reload perk but cata and fire and forget with stormchaser need to be at least on the same level
Linears are only really good for sustained DPS tbh, the ammo economy you get with fourth times is why you'd use linears in the first place, otherwise rockets are going to be much better
Veits stinger nerf. Clown Cartridge rng. Zero ammo perks on Fire, the only one ST has is Clown Cartridge. No RNG involved with Cataclysmic
Kinda funny rewatching this after the season came in and seeing apex being completely nuts and worthy of an S-tier
Fixed odds is easily a tier, it's better than the other incandescent machine guns
Bro really did fallen dirty man
Fire and forget >>>> reeds regret. It's an aggressive burst so each hit can proc viest stinger vs one singular hit from reeds.
So Fire and forget in S tier and reeds in A tier tbh.
Fixed odds should be ranked higher because it can get enhanced incandescent
what are you using to view all the weapon perks???
