Keep in mind that one upon a time Charles Manson, yes, the same one who's followers killed people back in the 60s, once joined Scientology. He quit it not long after. He deemed it, in his own words, as being "Too crazy". When somebody like him deems something as "Too crazy'', it really says quite a lot.

@@jedsteelwell2354 Manson was very smart in some ways but not in others. He was very smart in leading and controlling a large group of people, but when he was very old he put himself down for being stupid quite a bit. Manson had real promise as s musician and had good connections with the beach boys and with others I think. His big mistake was going down the dark path and getting involved in all the crimes- he didn't have to do that. He could have suppressed impulses to do bad things and he could have been a rock star- he had that potential, I think, if he would have stayed focused on it and if he would have suppressed his dark impulses somehow.

+snappy452 you're right on the mark there! I'm retired from law enforcement and my husband of 25+ yrs is an attorney. Fortunately he never did criminal law or I wouldn't have looked at him twice. lol.
Through his profession and my own, I've learned a lot about how litigators work. In case someone reading isn't aware of it, Litigators have to be lawyers, but not all lawyers are litigators. The litigator is the face at the table who runs the case, does questioning, argues motions, etc. You usually hear the word Litigator used in civil cases, not criminal.
This woman is definitely a litigator, probably from a private practice with big names attached and really big prices. Put it this way, Scientology is paying this woman's firm a big fat truckload of money. I know how these kinds of lawyers talk. I know how the really good ones can sway an entire room into believing the world is flat.
This time, no matter how hard the interviewer tried to pin this litigator down about those letters, she trying to spin the truth to some version where Scientology is "normal" and "just like every other church" using arguments that are so baseless, even she can't believe what's coming out of her mouth and she is not only uncomfortable, she is madder than hell, and here's why.
She is stuck defending indefensible actions, like all of these letters discrediting Miscavige's own father. You could hear it in her voice and see it on her face....she wants out of that room, and then she wants to go rip David Miscavige a new one for doing something THAT stupid.
If she ever reads you tube reviews, here is my message to her: Every case you take to civil court on behalf of Scientology is going to be a big loser, because you have a client, one David Miscavige C.O.B., who is a loose cannon on deck, and does whatever he damn well pleases. You will always be the last to know and you will always be expected by Miscavige to fix his screw ups. That's one heck of a full time job. I'd call the US Marshall's offices and beg them to put you in the witness protection program, so Miscavige can't send his goons to intimidate you, follow you, spy on you, etc etc. it's not worth it.

I completely disagree with this quote. If Twain really said this it was rather arrogant, because religion has existed for thousands of years, even organised religion. You have to take into consideration that people were not that sceptical and the few that were didn't speak out. Times were different. There were peoples for example who worshipped the sun: a star that is entirely real, other religions were more myrthical in nature. To call a person who "fell for it" back then a fool is narrow-minded. This was way before the scientific revolution. We, in this day and age, have the responsibility to be critical because we stand on the shoulders of giants; great thinkers who have lived and died throughout the years. The way people experienced things back in the day (art, religion, social interaction etc.) was not the same as we do now. That is because our common sense, as well as our senses are constantly evolving partly thanks to trial and error, partly thanks to scientific advancements. /end of rant.

"I have never heard a more tolerant a more intelligent a more compassionate human being than miss Cabbage." sounds exactly like the sentence those military keep repeating about their officer in the movie "The manchurian candidate".. that they were all hypnotized and brainwashed to repeat each time they were ask about their story. Also the way he says it..

Any belief system that tells you that you are not responsible for the evil you do is phony. Scientology does not account for sin and the need for personal redemption.

Is it still fair to consider John Travolta and Christie Alley celebrities? I don't think anyone under 25 even knows who they are?

Personally, John Travolta is a great actor. But Scientology has dirt on him, that’s why he can’t leave. Thrust me, they got him on lockdown.

Look at the lawyers body language. The entire time she is calling Ron a lier, she is the turning her head to right and left. That is a NO or untrue reaction. Her mouth is saying one thing but she really thinks differently.
