This channel deserves a commendation for its accurate portrayal of military life.

For once I couldn't laugh at this due to how accurate this is. Civvies have their own off-the-record quota of work they're only willing to do, establishing quota of how much work that can be put on their plate at a given time all the while b*itching that we're stealing their jobs when we resolve the work in our own hands. Had this buddy who did 4 days of their work in 2hrs in his OJT and they removed him to another section the next day.

The worst I've seen in the MPD at fort Meade. They're contracted to do everything, but then won't do anything. Green suites could get everything done in a normal account of time, but they're not allowed to.

THIS…This information is why recruitment is is down. Young adults don’t want to deal with this BS. The “Army way” needs to be overhauled

Obviously any retention issues are a matter of undisciplined personnel

No joke. Saw a phlebotomist, at the Indy VA, tell a WW2 vet that they need to teach him how to count again when he didnt understand which blood draw chair number he needed to go to.

Had a dental clinic that wouldn't answer their appointment line. A couple hours after I filled an ICE complaint the OIC called me to schedule an appointment. A little while after that a COL called me to give a lame excuse for them not answering they're appointment line for three days.

How the hell do they stay employed at those posts if they act like that???

Do you have any idea how hard it is to fire a government employee who is complying with the letter of the regulations just because they are an absolute dick about it? And half of them retired from the military somewhere between the Civil War and the Spanish American War and have some sort of protected veteran status. They will be there, grumpily refusing to help the young soldiers, until they unexpectedly die of an excess of apathy regarding other people's problems.

Have you forgotten that, to a civilian, _nothing_ is too good for our Soldiers in Uniform?
...and until we can figure out how to give you *_LESS_* than nothing, nothing is all you're going to get!

Because they're "Jobs" not "Posts" and us "Civvies" have learned that loyalty to a Job is worth exactly $0.

As an evil DoD Contractor I can confirm I run circles around the DoD Civilian employees so much they keep sending me out on the big requests. Using sticky notes and the I know a guy system. But when I'm done taking care of directors and really big babies (LT.Col's and Majors) the average man on the street gets their stuff fixed fast.
Loads of bad attitudes about being knowledgeable or giving answers to people when my coworkers are with me on projects though.

Got a-got a-got a nice little-nice little story, you're working on there, big-big-big, uh novel ... you've been working on for three years? Huh? Got a ... got a compelling protagonist? Huh? Got a ... got a ... obstacle for him to overcome? Huh? ... Little story, brewing there, working on, working on that for quite some time, huh? ... Yeah, talking about that, three years ago, ... Yeah, been working on that the whole time? Nice little uh, narrative. Beginning, middle, and end? Some friends become enemies, some enemies become friends? Yeah? At the end, your uh, main character is uh, richer for the experience? Yeah? Yeah?"

Easy now! I was DACP, our office never actually closed, at least not the Station. Headquarters, that’s a different story. And frankly they treated us like trash the same way, especially our supply or training office.

And ask to speak with their supervisor, they will swear their supervisor is NOT THERE while their supervisor is sitting at the desk behind them. You are looking right at them ! Come back when they tell you to come back and the supervisor might help you. In supply, I worked 90% with civilians in the 80's. Most of them were awesome, but the few that were not were just awful ! Lack of competition outside of the military creates lack of accountability for outsourced services. Also, never cut the budget because they know we have to buy their services or our budget gets cut.
