    6: Amr ibn Āmir al-Khuza’ī brings shirk to Makkah
    Last lecture covered the obedience of Ismail AS to his father Ibrahim AS. It also discussed the authentic riwayas about 8 doors to Jannah. The riwaya about 8 doors of jannah opening when you make dua after wudu has also been authentically established in Sahih Muslim. The "ahsan wa akrab", "the best and the closest door" is babal-walid, the door of the father in being dutiful and obedient to him. Shaykh Uthman clarifies that this is the father who's upon the kitaab and sunnah. The other doors of Jannah are: Bab al-Salah (prayer), Bab al-Jihad, Bab al-Sadaqah, Bab al-Rayyan (fasting), Bab al-Hajj, Bab al-Ayman, Bab of "la hawla wala quwwata illa billah" (meaning whose Zikar is so strong, showing zeal in Allah's remembrance), Bab al-Tawbah.
    What do you notice about all of the above? They are all a'mal, based on actions. Every muslim should do these actions within their capacity, but those who excel in these will be called through those abwab. There's however only one sahabi who will be called through all of these abwab, that is Abu Bakr Siddiq RA.
    Ismail AS has now passed away. The people of Jurhum were on tawheed. The shariah of Hajj, salah, siyaam was known to the people from the time of Ibrahim AS. The people even knew the ٱلتَّلبِيَة‎ (talbiyah). However with the older generations passing away, the newer generations became weaker in their Iman. Iman (faith - إِيمَان) is very similar to taking care of a garden. The garden will destroy itself if you don't take care of it. You don't have to grow weeds, the weeds grow themselves and destroy the garden if you don't continuously tend to the garden. When people of Jurhum became weak in their a'mal (actions) and iman, Banū Khuzā' attacked Jurhum and they become victorious. Before Jurhum lost Makkah, they hid the well of ZamZam and it remained hidden for a long time.
    The people of Jurhum scattered, some stayed in Makkah and some became bedouins again. Now Khuzā' became the caretakers of Makkah and they accepted tawheed to an extent. Although they weren't the original followers of Ismail AS but tawheed affected them, they did not worship idols, and made salah, Hajj etc. But they also started to get weaker and weaker in their faith. Amr ibn Amir Ibn Luhay al-Khuza’i from the Khuza'i tribe was a sayyid (leader), known to be religious in the outward sense. He would sacrifice 10 thousand camels during Hajj which at that time were a prized commodity. He was a man of hospitality, took care of the travelers, was a very generous man. He would do it all without any ulterior motive. So he became a figurehead for his tribe, both religiously and politically and became very powerful. Shaykh Uthman points out that when you are an honorable person, and have good qualities, even the fasiq, the fajir and kuffar will like you. But when do they NOT like you? When "amar bil maroof nahi anil munkar" (enjoining what is good and forbidding what is wrong) begins. When Muhammad PBUH used to make salah, adkhar, went to the cave and never committed shirk, the Quresh used to call him the best of us, Sadiq, Amin etc. But when did they start calling him a magician, insane etc? When the dawah' began, when he started speaking about the truth to people.
    Based on the information about Amr Ibr Amir that we have so far, where do we think a person like him would end up in the hereafter, heaven or hell? Without a doubt, we would all say Heaven as we know him to be someone who did immense good, sacrificed camels, took care of the hujjaj, the travelers, someone who was so honorable, kind and just, a leader of the Khuza'i after all. But by God, based on a Hadith by Prophet Muhammad PBUH, he is in Jahannam. Prophet PBUH said, "I saw Amr ibn Amir Ibn Luhay al-Khuza’i dragging his intestines in the fire." WHY?! Because he is the first one to introduce shirk to Makkah. Since the building of Kabah by Ibrahim/Ismail AS, there was NO shirk until now. Amr Ibn Amir went to the land of Kuffar in Shaam (Shaam at this time included Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan and some parts of current day Saudia) where he met the Amaleks aka Amalekites. They are mentioned in the old testament, a nation that was ordered to be slaughtered by Bani Israel. He found them to be worshipping idols and asked them why did they do it. Amaleks mentioned how worshipping certain idols brought them certain prosperities, such as strength, money, security etc. Amr was intrigued and he ended up bringing the first ever idol called Hubal to Makkah made of aqeeq. Aqeeq is a beautiful brownish stone with a reddish glow to it. This idol had a face, hands etc. They would throw arrows in front of it and depending how they landed, it would either mean it was okay to do something or not. Since they had no moral code/Shariah, they used to ask things like whether they could cheat a certain person in business, whether they could go rape a certain woman etc. This is obviously based on their imagination and is morally wrong, but this practice became widespread because shirk is every which way easy, it fulfills their desires. And because they had made the idol out to be a personality to be worshipped, they couldn't accept or fathom that he was doing something wrong. There's a lesson in it for us. We shouldn't evaluate the truth with the people, but we should evaluate the people with the truth. We don't say that if some person doesn't follow a certain sheikh, that person is off the manhaj. We look at what that sheikh brings and see whether it is in accordance with the kitaab and sunnah and then we accept it or reject it. We can't say that one imaam will always be correct in every masala and all others will always be incorrect. Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani said, "Zin bil Kitab wa sunnah= weight everything with the Quran and sunnah." It it is an important lesson for us. We follow certain personalities as they may be popular on social media. Once we start following them, we don't question them or ask Allah to guide them when they say something crazy like birthdays are halal etc, instead we say that they are right.
    So one time Hubal broke... LOL... awkwaaarrdddd! It's funny because this is their God, someone they worship, someone they ask for help to fix things in their lives, but it is something that can't even help itself. So in return, Quresh built it a solid gold arm. Going back to Amr Ibn Amir, he didn't stop there but started to bring in more statues, more idols, because the thing with shirk is that it does not stop, it keeps on going. For example, hindus worship everything including rats, monkeys etc, and some things are such that can't even be mentioned in this lecture. This happens with christians too. They begin by worshipping Jesus PBUH, then Mary PBUH, then saints, then other off shoots such as Mormons will bring their own gods etc, so shirk doesn't stop but it keeps going. So Amr Ibn Amir brought other idols such as Wadd, Suwa', Yaghuth, Ya'ug, Nasr (mentioned in Quran 71:23) as well as female deities such as Manat, Uzza, Lat. Per some of the acceptable reports of the ulema (but not marfu'an meaning not from Prophet Muhammad PBUH), Amr bin Amir used to work with the Jinn, and no doubt these female idols were supported by the Jinn (as mentioned by Khalid bin Walid, more to come on this).
    Although Amr ibn Amir brought these idols to Makkah, he ran into the problem of people still following tawheed. How do you reconcile the two, especially the Talbiyah as it glorifies the oneness of Allah. So now people started the process of Bid'ah. Two types of Bid'ah are: Bid'ah Hasanah (good innovation) and Bid'ah Sayyiah (bad innovation). But in religion, "كل بدعة ضلالة وكل ضلالة في النار = kullu bid'atin dalalah, wa kullu dalalatin fin nar = Every innovation is a misguidance and every misguidance leads to the hellfire." So they changed up the wording of Talbiyah. Per an authentic Hadith, bn Abbas reported that they added "إلا شريكا هو لك ، تملكه وما ملك" meaning you have no partner "except for a partner who belongs to You, and You control the partner and all that he controls."
    This above is also relevant today when people go to graves making dua through a wali (a pious person) claiming to worship Allah. Christians do the same thing but some of our Imams don't think it's a big deal because "well they don't deny God". To this point, well Quresh who worshipped idols also did not deny Allah. Prophet Muhammad PBUH said, "Addu'a huwal Ibadah = dua (supplication) is worship itself." So saying things like Ya Ali is also considered shirk because who are you making dua to? So if you are doing Ibadah (even in the form of dua) to someone else besides Allah, you are making shirk. A side note regarding sajda (prostration) is that it is not an ibadah in itself, it is just an aspect of it. Angels making sujood to Adam PBUH was not an Ibadah. Yusuf AS parents, and brothers making sujood to him was not an Ibadah but a sign of respect as it was allowed in their Ummah. This however is not allowed in our Ummah today per Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Ibadah itself is more than just doing sajda, you are giving someone a right to legislate over you, and when you give this right to someone other than Allah, then this Ibadah becomes shirk.

      @JB-1234 Před 3 lety +1

      Shirk continued to spread. Now every tribe had their own God. Idols even found their way in everyone's home. They started exchanging idols, they also started inventing some practices of shirk such as releasing animals, only certain people like priests could eat their meat etc. When the divine guidance is taken away, zulm (oppression) happens. For example, people started to bury their daughters. Side note, the presentation of the story about Omar Ibn Khattab RA burying his daughter is not authentic/established. It seems like it was started by the filth of this Ummah, the Raafida. But putting this aside, many sahaba did bury their daughters because it was a common practice, a part of their tradition, a tradition that comes with oppression. Hopefully the audience found this fact very bothersome and shocking. But before we get on our high horses, does that not go on in current times? Per a BBC report in 2019, a village in India had 132 births and none of them were females. Statistically, this is very strange because birth rates are usually very close with females being slightly more than males, so how did this happen? Because a pregnancy was aborted if a fetus was found to be a female on sonogram. Something similar happened in China as well. Birth rates were balanced between the male and female gender in 1960 but in the year 2020, due to abortion, there were 119 boys per 100 girls born. So statistically, due to the ongoing abortions, there were 24 million Chinese that could not find a spouse. This is something so shameful. When people talk about religion and women's rights, how come they don't talk about this stuff? What religion mandated this in China? Atheism, secularism is responsible for this. The worst massacres in human history weren't between religious wars, even when we look at the Crusades etc. The one person who is historically documented to have killed more people is Stalin who was a communist, atheist filth. So don't let atheists get on their high horse.
      Oppression became widespread. If someone didn't have tribal backing, they could be robbed or killed. Laws were even formulated to favor certain people. In Islamic Shariah, your race, whether you be Arab, white or black etc does not matter. The key defending factor of superiority in Shariah is taqwa, piety. But when you don't have the divine law in place, then what happens? If you're poor, you make tawaf naked but if you come from a strong and rich tribe, you have clothes hanging on the floor. This is a sign of arrogance, kibar. And that's why Muhammad ﷺ said about Isbaal (wearing garments extending below the ankles) that "Innaha makheela- it is kibar in itself."
      There was a man named Isaf (some times Usaf) and a female named Na'ila who loved each other but were unable to get married. So they made a plan of meeting during Hajj. The only time they could find to meet was in the darkness of the night, and the only place they could find to meet was the sacred Kabah, the Kabah that had been built by Ibrahim and Ismail AS, the Kabah that had been blessed since the time of Adam AS, the Kabah that is the most blessed place on the face of the Earth. Historians report that these two made Zina there. Allah decided to make them a sign by turning them into stone while in the act. When the people found them in the form of a statue, they decided to take them out of the Kabah and place them out in the public to make people fear Allah. So it was placed close ZamZam, which at this time was hidden. But what is the problem with statues? As generations went on, Iblis came to the people and whispered to them that these were awliya, and so people started to worship them. We would think that this does not happen nowadays, but unfortunately it does. For example, many graves in Pakistan and Afghanistan that were being worshipped by people were opened up and things like gold statues, skulls of donkeys, monkeys etc came out. Shaykh Uthman saw a grave in Peshawar where people would worship by prostrating to the grave. This was dug open by the British and gold statues were found in it. Turns out many hindus lived in this area and during the partition as they were leaving, they buried a lot of their gold/statues and they knew that the best way to protect it was to tell the people that it was a grave of a wali. The people of bid'ah will never defend the Kabah, never defend tawaheed, never ulemas but a place of shirk they will die for. Even if these graves truly had awliya in them, we can't prostrate to them.
      So now we are in a time where this zani and zania's statues were being worshipped. With this, a lot of other zulm (oppression) was happening such as rape, murder etc. This tends to happen when you have no implementation of the divine law. When we see Zulimat going on today, such as people having their rights taken away, we naturally become upset as we all should but have we ever thought of ever focus our energy on eradicating shirk? Allah in the Quran says, "Inna-shirka la dhulmun azeem- certainly, shirk verily, is definitely a dhulm azeem." (31:13). Although all other sins are grave in nature but the one sin that IF you die upon will never be forgiven is shirk per the law of Allah. Nowadays, Ulema will say that istighatha is not shirk, but it absolutely is!
      Istighatha and tawassul are different.
      Tawassul: one is tawassul bil A'mal, where you make a waseela/take a path to Allah through your actions. For example, "Oh Allah, I went to Hajj for only your sake, and to the best of my weak ability, oh Allah please accept it and help me in so and so situation." There's nothing wrong with this. The second kind of tawassul is tawassul b-dua as-saleheen al haye. It is where you go to a righteous person and ask them to make dua for you. This is also allowed. For example, even though Muhammad ﷺ is higher in status than Omar bin Khattab RA, he ﷺ still asked Omar RA to make dua for him. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ also told Omar Ibn Khattab RA to ask Awais Al-Qarani, a Tabi'un to make dua for Omar RA when he met him. Sahaba used to make dua for each other. The third kind of tawassul is through Asma-ul-Husna, with the sifaat of Allah, such as, "Oh Allah you are Rahman, you are Ar-Raheem, I want to make tawassul through your beautiful names." This is also allowed. BUT if you go to a grave of a wali and say, "Oh Allah, for the sake of this wali.....", we don't find adilla for this. So to say, "Oh Allah, for the sake of Prophet SAW, Oh Allah I make dua to you because of the Prophet SAW" THIS IS BID'AH.
      Istighatha is when you go to a grave and make dua to the one in the grave but not to Allah. This includes Shias saying, "Sheray khuda, mushkil kusha." It is important to realize that Quresh would say Allah as the answer if you asked them who made the skies. They did not say that these entities/idols were independent in their powers. They incorporated it into the Talbiyah saying, there is no partner to You "except who you Allah give authority to." So if you say Istighatha isn't shirk, then you say that Quresh were Muslim. There are many scholars from different madahib who have written books documenting Istighatha from the earliest times and calling it shirk. A famous Hanbali scholar by the name of Mar'i Ibn Yusuf wrote a book called "Shifa' al-sudur fi ziyarat Al-Mashahid wal Qubur" which documents the Hanbali opinion that Istighatha is shirk/kufar. One thing is very clear from the Quran itself, even by sticking to the first chapter, Al-Fatiha. We say "Iyyaka Na'budu wa Iyyaka Nasta'een = إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ = only You are the one we worship and only You are the one we ask for help."
      In a Sahih Hadith as reported by Abdullah Ibn Abbas RA, an uncle of Muhammad ﷺ, he said that "Idha sa'alta fas'alillah wa idha ista''anta fasta'inu billah - if you ask, ask of Allah, and if you seek help, then ask from Allah." When there was a drought in the time of Sahaba after Muhammad ﷺ had passed away, there were many graves including Rasool ﷺ but Omar RA and sahaba did not go worship these graves. Instead Omar RA told Abbas RA, Muhammad ﷺ uncle to make Salat-ul-Istisqa to get the help of Allah. They used his uncle as a waseela, someone who is alive to ask for Allah's help.
      In closing, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was sent to us in such a time when a zani and zania were being worshiped, idols were being worshipped, daughters were being buried, the rights of poor were being taken. In that time of darkness, Allah sent us a Sirajul-Muneer, an illuminating light to take mankind out of darkness to light, a Rahma lil alameen, a mercy to Alameen, and before that, many clear and authentically documented miracles which we will cover in the next chapter inshaAllah.

      @Robert Ryan listen, I wont go back and forth with you, I will just give you 1 hadith to show what your saying is nonsense (to say you studied Islam for 5 years, and make such a claim is actually pathetic). And if you want to continue arguing, than by all means you could argue with yourself
      It was narrated that ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) came to the Black Stone and kissed it, then he said: “I know that you are only a stone which can neither bring benefit nor cause harm. Were it not that I had seen the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) kiss you, I would not have kissed you.”

By adding Khilafa of Uthman (RA) and Ali (RA) and some would say the 5th (RA), the duration and trio analogy doesn't work that's all, just an observation. Some say the methodology of Prophethood was deviated off of after Umar (RA) by family and friends being selected as leaders. I'm still studying the "al-Jamal" history so concept not clear yet.

Also Ali RA the husband of Fatima RA the daughter of the prophet. The man to win so many duels at the wars and uplifting the morale of everyone. The pure Ali RA.
      The ones who say that the methodology of the prophet RA deviated after Umar are the Shias and the Khawarij, who plotted and made assassinations. Umar RA was assassinated and Ali RA was assassinated as foreseen by the prophet when he was alive, and even Uthman RA was assassinated in his house. I was thinking about going to Islam for the last few days but I worry that I'd be a bad Muslim due to not having a good memory, struggle to focus, and a sore body that tires easily. What do you think?

    • @abdurrahmanhabeeb633
      @abdurrahmanhabeeb633 Před 3 lety +2

      being a muslim means you submit to Allah. You show your gratitude to your Creator and you try to fulfil the purpose for which you were created. You don’t need to be someone with a lot of knowledge. You just need to submit to Allah, you will feel at peace because you know your Creator and purpose. you yearn to meet your Creator, Islam is a religion that is very easy to practice for those who are sincere.
      You say the testimony of faith: I testify that there is no True God except Allah and I testify Muhammed (peace be upon him) is His slave and messenger. Then you are a muslim
      . Then you pray the 5 daily prayers which only take about 5 minutes each. (25 minutes a day)
      you pay 2.5% of your wealth every year to the needy (very small amount only if you can afford it).
      You fast 1 month every year
      and do the pilgrimage to Hajj just once in your lifetime.
      These are the 5 pillars of Islam and are the rights of your Creator. It is very easy and the sincere muslim cannot live without doing them, when you pray you are talking to your Creator, you are asking of His bounty and He responds to you. When you give in charity you are helping to uplift your entire community. When you fast you are showing your gratitude to your Lord (not to mention it is great for your health.) When you go for Hajj just once in your life, ALL your sins are forgiven.
      If you become muslim, all your past deeds are forgiven. And you are of those who will enter paradise insh Allah. Without Islam (following the way of the Creator) there is no paradise. This is because you are worshipping other than your Creator, you choose to follow the path of satan over the path of your Creator.

    • @abdurrahmanhabeeb633
      @abdurrahmanhabeeb633 Před 3 lety +2

      having a good memory or sore body or any of that does not mean in any way shape or form you can’t be a good muslim. The more you struggle the more you are rewarded.
      Accepting islam is like eating a cake. If you eat all of it at once you will feel sick and throw up. In order to feel the sweetness of the cake and enjoy it, you eat it but by bit. So take it slow, start off my accepting Islam, profess what you already believe in your heart. Then you are qualified to enter Paradise and look at your Lord. All muslims strive hoping to see Allah on the day of judgment. Please do not follow thhe Satan or hesitate before your time is up.
