We decided to try to take it easy at the end of the season and not beat our selves up. Couldn't believe didn't have a cut ,bruise, scratch some where. Did end the season on a high note with a beautiful 24" brown on my 10', 3wt. What a trip....tried to send a picture but it didn't work. Keep the informative videos coming . John K🎣
CJ. On clear lake's and streams i like to stand high on a boulder if and when I get a chance. A little better sight fishing. I seen stand on that rock. And about losing your net. That happened to me. I landed my fish then dropped my net. Happy fishing and great videos
Sorry about your net! Lost my brand new Simms hat on the Gallatin in June during high water ... one more step and I would have been floating down the river with it.
Howdy Ken! Yes, we're pretty dry out here but we also got spoiled by a huge winter last year and streams are running beautifully. Fishing is really good right now... gotta take advantage of the next couple weeks before we freeze!
Sorry about your net but things like that happen, ive had my share of mishaps like getting hooks imbedded or cut with knives on the trail. I'm a recent sub to your channel and have watched all the vids you have made and I enjoy them all. I also see that youre a firm practitioner of catch and release in your videos but I would love to see a catch and cook episode of one fish while your out on the river. Maybe cooking one up on the Firebox Stove, just a suggestion...... regardless, keep up the great vids....
My absolute favorite over the last 15 years or so are Smith's with glass lenses. I'm not impressed with their 'Chromapop' line but good old Smith glass lenses in amber are the best fish-finding optics out there.
Hey Carter, sorry for the delayed response. Comments get buried in my videos and I don't notice them ... I was in waders, I'm almost always wearing my Simms unless I get really lazy in the winter! Thanks for watching Carter.
Holy cow... I lost my balance and fell forward on a pointy stick that was the only thing sticking out of the river right there. I grabbed it but all of my weight pushed it into my hand about 1" into the meat of my thumb muscle. I put a stitch in it with 6X tippett and a sharp dry-fly hook but that didn't hold... had to get it stitched up proper when I got home.
Thanks for the heads up Bryce, not sure why I marked it private but it's back up and running. I had to watch it myself and remember last November. That dam is gone now, as is that huge school of giant fish. They're still in the river... just in another home that I need to go find! On another video I land that huge one on a later day. It is one of the top three largest trout I've caught in Utah for sure. Thanks again and tight lines as always!
That's a Sage Click. I have held out on large arbors because of weight. This one doesn't have a drag but it's SUPER light. I'm really liking it so far.
CJ's FishNutz I used it a ton on small streams this summer and used it a lot for trico fishing. Drag is smooth as butter, and it’s super durable! Great reel.
Awesome video. Thanks for posting it.
Enjoyed your video. Thanks for posting. Definitely looking forward to your next post. Tight Lines.
Thanks much SirJohnny. I appreciate your being there!
It's just a flesh wound... nice that you worked through it to follow the plan of the day!

Great video again CJ - glad I am not the only one who has donate a net (or two) to a local river :-)
If you ever fish the Duchesne River near Hanna you may find my Brodin net I lost last summer!
Oh man... I think mine just let go right at the handle. Looks like a cheap net for a while now, or none.
I must have been having sympathy pains as went out today and immediately sunk a hook in my thumb, but 20 fish by 1:00👍
Those falls are the pits and happen so quickly. Trying to figure out how to dial them out😜
Awesome fishing and beautiful scenery ,area that was a really nice Brodin landing net what model was it thanks for making these videos
It was a Brodin Cutthroat... sucks to lose good gear but it happens!
CJ. Good stuff. Hope all is well... Is your area dry? Know a few places out West are needing water..

Thanks Judge RB... That would make a great episode. I don't have any problems taking one home every rare now and then. LOVE fresh trout on the bbq!
I carry water proof bandage in my day pack.
thats an amazing river
What kind of polarized glasses do you use? Seems like you can really see the fish. I wonder if it's time to get rid of my Walmart polarized glasses!

I'll second what CJ says. Smith Optics (glass lenses) in amber are the best.
Looks like you had a great day! Did you use waders? I'm hoping to get up there this weekend any tips?
Hey Carter, sorry for the delayed response. Comments get buried in my videos and I don't notice them ... I was in waders, I'm almost always wearing my Simms unless I get really lazy in the winter! Thanks for watching Carter.
Great video, and also not so good to see loses, cuts and stuff also happen to other people🤣
Amen... that one went in to the muscle. Had to get it stitched up when I got home.
CJ's FishNutz how did cut your hand? I never picked up on how it happened haha.

CJ, I enjoyed the new video!
Didn't you have a video posted up a while back called streamers and eggs?
Hi there Bryce! You have a good memory, I did... and here it is: czcams.com/video/e9qHyz117Xo/video.html Thanks much for watching!
CJ's FishNutz The video comes up as unavailable. Did you make it private by accident or something? That’d explain why I couldn’t find it.

What reel are you using?
That's a Sage Click. I have held out on large arbors because of weight. This one doesn't have a drag but it's SUPER light. I'm really liking it so far.
CJ's FishNutz Oh cool. I recently ordered the orvis hyrdos sl for my 3 weight and it also has a large arbor. Excited to try it out!
That is a sweet-looking reel Bryce! I've had several Orvis reels but never a large arbor. Let me know how it fishes!
CJ's FishNutz I used it a ton on small streams this summer and used it a lot for trico fishing. Drag is smooth as butter, and it’s super durable! Great reel.
Unfortunate net situation :/, but nonetheless your video was very entertaining!
Thanks so much for watching XV!
