How does the military, get people into shape so fast at military base training, that is amazing that the military can do that so fast, for a large number of people.
Here is an idea for this channel that would get lots of interest and views. Setup a 3 mile challenge run between active duty Marines vs former Marines. I am 47 years old and would be the first to represent from the former Marine side.
My 3 mile rn fastest was 25:30, but im sure since I’ve been doing longer runs(1hr runs), I’ve been feeling improvements, and after a month or so, I’ll start to incorporate much more sprints in

My son was roughly the same as you before he got into boot camp. His recruiter told him that salads were his new favorite food, and they had him come into the recruiting office to do PT every day for a month (except weekends). Roughly 4 hours of running, pushing tires over, and tons of cardio. It worked, but it was super rough on him. He came home from Parris Island 30lbs. lighter. Edit: Also, told him to "embrace the suck". It's a motto he lives by now. lol
I was about 20 pounds underweight and they put me on "double rats".... Still, I was skinny as fuck. I wasn't able to bulk up until I got to the Fleet and was able to lift weights and slam protein shakes. Problem is, when you're 0311 you're always burning calories.
Ngl I lost most of my weight from overweight to normal weight during my last 2 field excercises due to: no logistics in deep Lapland, wet firewood, -20C (which wasnt even that bad tbh had worse), frozen water canisters, rationed 24h rationpacks to last 2-3 days, no sleep (as usual). In the end tho I didn't even know I had lost all that extra weight and my squadmates and other squads nco told me after the last leave before mustering out into the reserves that I had really slimmed down lately.
