Impacted? I cannot imagine patient care getting any worse: My husband was referred by the VA Hospital to an out patient visit at one of the Ochsner facilities two weeks ago. No one knew anything about our appointment. They kept sending us to the wrong buildings. We never got the letter they assured us they would send, with scheduling information, and directions to the location of our appointment. Once we finally arrived at the right place, after driving around nearly two hours, the Doctor spent maybe ten minutes with my husband. As we were heading home, my phone rang. It was the receptionist at Ochsner, asking us if we would please come back because she had made a mistake and forgotten some critical papers for us to sign. I was amazed all through the process - by the poor service, lack of professionalism, and general cluelessness of the staffers I encountered.

worked there as a travel nurse in the 90's. 9th floor night shift. Best thing about the place was a cook on the night shift cafeteria named Andre (i think) who made the best philly cheese steak sandwiches. I remember reporting horror stories to a night supervisor "grace" terrible place.

Well that’s a right to work state for you. No union protections. No state patient ratios. Throw in a hospital system that spends money expanding their foot print vs improving current systems in place… this is nothing new in the south as a whole.
