I feel it is a privilege to watch great craftspeople at work and to watch the Japanese masters of these crafts at work fills me with awe and delight! I absolutely love the Japanese genius! I am so grateful for the posting of these videos! Thank you! ♥♥♥
So true. It's always a pleasure for me how beautiful the results of their crafts are. My Japanese friend used to bring me besutiful gifts when she visited.
I think that is a kind thought….but I guarantee they love their work…it gives them pride and rightfully so and they probably wouldnt ever want to go! I made a rhyme Lol!😂 but ill go to canada…🥹😁
And people don't understand why handcrafted things cost so much. Can you imagine how many hours this took. And the poor ladies who worked in the stream while it was snowing, their poor hands.
Me preguntó...
During the Meiji period, when Western-style paper was introduced and became popular, ancient Japanese paper came to be recognized as ``washi.''[1] The general characteristics of Japanese paper are said to be that it has much longer fibers than Western paper, so although it is thin, it is strong, has a relatively long lifespan, and has a unique texture.
Fascinating to watch the processes and skills involved. The artisans are a joy to watch, particularly their attention to detail int the creative process, I particularly enjoyed the Japanese dolls. The paper making was lengthy with some back breaking tasks, I wonder how many young people will be drawn to this traditional craft.
Hi . All this 5 it's super working . Japanese people they working perfect from the old years . Any things if any body want to buy from made in Japan you can take't with out 1% problem all things arrived no.1. Good luck for all people Japanese .
2024 Living in New Zealand 🇳🇿 Japan 🇯🇵 each crafts person that brought to light the intricacy of such beautiful pieces. Handmade from field to the completed article. My favourite would have to the delicate smoking pipe. Exquisite piece, one and all. Thank you to the ancient Japanese Art Craftmanship. Both Men and Women Thank you.
I'm surprized to see that some of the facial require crarving from the back side. Amazing dedication to every detail their work beautiful. I hope the man who made pipes made one for himself somewhere along the time. Is it a good taste from the pipe right away or does it need to set for a while?
Gotta be skilled to keep from hitting your hand. Awesome. Enjoyed all these videos. Those masks were something to see. Made me get back in my craft room.
You've got to wonder how the working out of these processes came about. By the 8th process I am beginning to recognize paper pulp. Their machine made shifu stoles are lovely, but mine - which are hand spun and hand woven on a silk warp - are (I believe) nicer.!
My only criticism.of the video itself: scene changes are too abrupt between craft items. Especially at the end of making the exquisite doll! We are hardly given time to appreciate her finished serene beauty before hearing crashing sounds from the next process of a completely different item! Editing please...

No matter which video you watch, Japanese craftsmen are polite, serious, and put a lot of heart into their work!
So true. It's always a pleasure for me how beautiful the results of their crafts are. My Japanese friend used to bring me besutiful gifts when she visited.
I want to adopt all of these older ladies and bring them to Canada to sip on tea and relax in their golden years! They’ve done enough work! ❤
I think that is a kind thought….but I guarantee they love their work…it gives them pride and rightfully so and they probably wouldnt ever want to go! I made a rhyme Lol!😂 but ill go to canada…🥹😁
The man hammering what appears to be silver?…..has all his fingers and that is impressive!
@@kelcritcarroll Looks like silver.
And people don't understand why handcrafted things cost so much. Can you imagine how many hours this took. And the poor ladies who worked in the stream while it was snowing, their poor hands.
I love making crafts and I appreciate their creativity and hard work put into making these pieces. I v never negotiate with the prices they charge.😊
They should be given better working conditions.
It probably wouldn’t make any big difference. These people WORK.
Absolutely an art.
@lucyhare5799 agree. But...sad truth is, you can't do a lot of this delicate "watery work' 'with gloves on.
I feel so bad for these ladies working all year in all weathers, peace and love to them.
I used to watch my father carve, and this brought back good memories.
Love the sound of a really sharp chisel cleanly cutting the wood!
Thank you very much!
QUE MANOS MARAVILLOSAS .SU TRABAJO ES UNA PULCRITUD .DIOS BENDIGA ESAS MANOS .
Amazingly skilled people. Absolutely enjoyed these master craftsmen and women.
I am always honored to get to see these processes. To think on the time and care that went into the object.
Gracias gracias gracias
I simply love traditional craftsmanship. Thank you for your videos!
Thank you very much!
Thank you for honoring us with your beautiful work. It is greatly appreciated.

Respect is an understatement for these amazing people. 👏👏👍👍👍💕💕💕

Thank you for posting. All were amazing examples of artist-crafts-making, but the pipe was my favorite. That was stunning.
It was simply beautiful…and to make that so smooth and elegant by hand …..well lets say I had no idea a person could do that!
Incredible talent.
The OLDER old women are doing the very hardest of the labor. Each step is a younger woman.
Yes...is it because there's minimal interest from younger women in learning and maintaining these difficult traditional crafts, I wonder.
Amazing people!
Thank you so much!!!
Of course, that only happens with the chisel in the hands of a true master!
This is hard tough work ! esp. in the winter!
Merci à tous les artisans ! De toue beauté !
Unbelievable skills absolutely stunning ❤❤❤❤
I am from India.I like Japan and Japanese people . Japanese people are very nice and hard working
Bless these ladys...

The patience to make the silver pipe is phenominal, so beautiful and fine.
Excellent craftsmanship.
Amazing and professional! Exccellent!😮
So perfect
Amazing artisans all!

Fascinating watching a MASTER CRAFTSMAN!
What a Cultural Treasure!
Thank you! ☺️
It is always an honor and a privilege to watch talented artisans with a passion for their work ply their trade.
Just amazing talent and 100's of years to perfect it.

This video is amazing. The silence draws you in and I feel that I could watch these artist for days silently as not to disturb them at all.
So patient and talented!
