GG from the southern Ecaz! (☻spoils ahead☻) Horus was very savy on the Corrino defense, well played. Early game I beat Cor for a spice field and later took an aggressive forward settle from Atr for the fuel. Our brother in Atreides was a newer player so I left him be thinking we'd need his help with Corrino later on. Alas, he took the border skirmish as a grudge he was unwilling to set aside. It happens to the best of us. Dune is a game of king-slayer not king-maker! ...OR greedy Turin could have accepted a modest cut in profits to help earlier! Every Corrino win is a tragedy.
I know it wasn't planned, but the pause about halfway through the game was a nice sort of "halftime", where it became a fascinating "state of the game", to look across the map and get a sense of things. I wouldn't be against it becoming an occasional thing. Love watching this game, keep it up!

Mamidon (Atreides) sounds like he's quite young: very black and white thinking and an inability to (want to) see the bigger picture because of (perceived) slights. That's, of course, his prerogative, but does make the ending of games anti-climactic. I hope he'll be able to let things go in the future. Which is easier said than done of course; multiplayer games can be very stressful!
Regardless, thanks for the game Turin, watching these is a really nice way to relax in the evenings!
I run into this mindset when I invite people over for board games. I either don't invite them back much, or I make sure to not play any games at the table that allow for "politicking" or are balanced by players going after leaders. A portion of being a good player in the game is to always play to win and when you don't do that and instead take things personally and set new goals for yourself (like just trying to cause one player to lose) you fuck the game up for everyone. Gotta grow up or not be invited back.

Always tough cracking that Corrino shell, especially when they get to that late game with all the Tech and Main Base buildings. None-the-less it was a fun game to watch, some people aren't a fan of Sim City matches but spotting the little efficiencies that add up to a big eco is a great part of the building in Dune: Spice Wars.

Sorry to be a backseat gamer since I know there's so much going on. I also look forward to these videos more than any others on CZcams!
But to me, the pattern in your games is that you often rush military engagements before you prepare properly and generally always lose your entire army.
e.g. in this game there's no reason for you not to spend your money (constantly floating 20k) to get to 30% choam (plus shares improve rate with tech). That's why Corrino was confused at some point and thought you were scheming! The red choam price is that it's going up, not necessarily that it's so expensive that you shouldn't buy. You also often don't make sure your units are upgraded and you didn't have the military special building for ages despite how many fuel cells you had.
You're so good at Sim City so it's just a pity when this happens (I love seeing you win!)

Excellent video. Lots of good tips. Have you encountered problems with the Smuggler tech Security Details? It says 3 free mercenaries when a resolution you put a bounty on passes, but I've tried many times and haven't seen a single mercenary spawn.
Just started book 5... dude i didnt think book 4 could be topped, but EVERY time i hit the next book its even more mindblowing

Love the content. Currently learnign smugglers myself :) I don't want to nitpick but I have rarely seen a player as petty as the Atreides one. Literally accepted defeat 15 minutes before the end. At that point why even play the game. Some people are not emotionally mature enough to play ffa games.

Small thing, but you should have totally pulled the rug with water networks in Corrino undercities.

The MP kind of forces the players to be jealous of each other lol. I've never seen a game to make you want to see the ingame chat lol.
Im surprised the entire map doesn’t agree to just bum rush Smugglers to get them off the map early since it seems like Smugglers just passively steal everyone’s money. Is there a reason that doesn’t happen? Idon’t play this game btw, just watch Turins games.
Smugglers are not really stealing anything (except the building that steals spice). They just get a chunk of resources based on someone else’s production.

also in a war of two sides it's usually the third one that wins, so anyone *not* bumrushing and getting their due development would basically almost autowin

Every time I see Turin play no matter the faction he always goes big eco and is very greedy
the boring thing about this game is that 95% of the matches seem to be decided by hedge.

Smugglers can be excellent diplomats in PvP due to their ability to boost water and production to other players.
If someone does what you do not want, just remove their water and other boosts, by just removing the peace.
It also hurts my brain to see many inefficient choices this gameplay includes.

Being something of a toper, I have played many a game while inebriated and found I could still perform at a decent skill level.
Dune: Spice Wars is not one of those games. 😒
