The Tools & Equipment I use- kit.co/nickpedulla
I figured it was about time I introduced myself. This is my first time talking to the camera so bear with me. It’s going to take a bit more practice until I feel more comfortable in front of the camera.
This Hall Table is made from Walnut and Brass.
The sliding dovetails were certainly a time-consuming part of the build but a necessary step with a design such as this one.
It’s important to note that the legs were also bolted onto the dovetailed frame to ensure its stability. The dovetails alone are not enough to secure the legs. The front bolt (shown at the end of the video) is screwed into the threaded insert located at the front of the leg. There is another bolt and threaded insert positioned at the back of the leg and frame. The hole in the frame has been elongated to help with expansion and contraction.
It may look like there is a lot of wasted material in this piece, but each off cut has been saved and either used as a new section in this hall table or has been set aside for future projects.
I’ve glued the brass shadow line to the walnut top with a simple construction adhesive that specifically bonds wood and metals. This adhesive will allow some movement of the wood while also keeping a good bond to the brass. I used epoxy to glue the brass handle to the drawer fronts.
Ive sprayed the Brass with spray on lacquer.
Standard Questions-
- What glue do I use? Titebond 3
- What finish do I use? Osmo Oil satin

I don't normally show my face, but after the incredible support you have all shown me I wanted to say thank you!
Do you need an apprentice...... would be another great reason to move to sydney. your pieces are next level.
@@larcomj Not looking for an apprentice unfortunately but thanks for the comment!
You're doing unique and amazing things on the platform, as with woodworking! Love the explainer at the end, it would be great to get descriptions of your notable builds in this format. It makes the build just that much more meaningful and helps your newer woodworking audience understand why you did things the way you did.
@@EL44271 Thank you. Yeah i plan on doing more explanations at the end of my videos from now on. Thanks for watching
I grew up in a cabinet-making environment myself, and am just starting my own woodshop in my early 40s as a hobby shop. Your work is inspiring, and your video skills are on point. They clearly communicate many of the design decisions you make in your projects. The ends/legs with the grain matching had me questioning the strength of the piece, until you cut the dovetails. When you cut the matching pieces, it all made sense.
You found your calling in life early, and the work you do is stunning. Thank you for introducing yourself. It's nice to meet the artist behind pieces that will be handed down through generations.
I follow 50+ woodworkers on CZcams (literally it’s an obsession), and this may be the most beautiful piece of furniture I have ever seen built. Unbelievable attention to detail. And the video editing to match. 🙌🏻 amazing, amazing, amazing!
Thanks so much
Yeap same opinion here. It tops the attention to detail of Keith Johnson and the design is better thought through than Sawyer design. And video is all about the work process in detail as if we are right next to him in the workshop just like Kobeomusk.
I agree Tim! The amount of videos I watch a week is unhealthy but this guys work is just unreal
Ditto to all! This guy is on the top level!
I agree with you guys, this work was well thought of, kudos!
you're not a woodworker, more a sculptor, and a true artist. i'm in awe.
Yeah!! What he said.

Now that I have heard you speak I think I am right to intuit that you don't actually have a clue how good you are - your furniture will become insanely valuable in the years to come!! I appreciate your humility, but don't let this get in the way of getting your fare share. From now on think of a sale figure and double it, at least!! Your wealthy clients will just love you all the more. At the end of the day it will be their offspring and their offspring's offspring, infinitum, who will be the real winners and they won't know you or your offspring from Adam! Your pieces will become the heirlooms of kings and queens. Have faith - your CZcams audience has spoken!!
You're welcome! Honestly, your work has been one of the things getting me back into the shop after my dad passed away. He was the one who got me into woodworking, and it was very difficult last year finding any motivation to work on projects. Watching your excellent builds made me remember the feeling of joy I had and inspired me to keep my passion alive. One day I'll make as beautiful furniture as you! Cheers!
Sorry for your loss Brandon. Im so pleased that you find some inspiration from my videos. Keep up the great work and thank you for the touching comment. All the best.
Absolutely beautiful work. Thank you for explaining about the dovetails. I really learn a lot when a craftsman explains why they do certain things.
You are an artist with the gift of humility. In a time where so many want to be recognized for far less than mastery of their chosen craft is refreshing. For me, that's what makes your videos a joy to watch.
Absolutely incredible!!! I've been woodworking for 45 years and this piece is one of the most beautiful works of art I've ever seen. Kudos to you on the use of dovetails, I could not agree more with your reasoning. New sub!!!
Exquisite. Love the carved details and matched grains. The case joinery is really cool too.
Thanks so much Blake!
Exquisite is the word exactly. The sculptural elements such as drawer fronts curving into the brass pulls are sumptuous. Love it, love it, love it.
It’s funny that a video over 27 minutes long didn’t seem that long when watching. Thanks for all the effort you put into the videos to show us the techniques you use to make this beautiful furniture!
Exacto!!!
Thanks
Nick, thank you for the beauty you bring into the world. I can't honestly tell you that I have never even driven a nail into a piece of wood, let alone made a piece of furniture but what I can tell you is I know art when I see it and I know an artisan of the highest order when I see one. Your work is stellar. I follow a lot of woodworking channels on CZcams and I'm absolutely confident that you rank at the very pinnacle, both in the craftsmanship and the design and beauty of your pieces. The thoughtfulness that you must bring to your work is incredible. I appreciate you very much.
Thank you so much for the kind words Eddie. I truly appreciate it!
When words are expressed, they are not always understandable, but when hands speak, art embellishes them.
Beautiful job congratulations
As an amateur woodworker I can only gasp at your wonderful skills of design and accomplishment. That is an amazing piece which will be loved, cherished, valued and admired for decades.
This is among the finest woodworking I have ever seen. And I’ve been in, and adjacent to, the woodworking world for 35 years.
Thanks so much
You are doing a great job ,but imagine those days of chisel, saw , they ve created wonderful furniture. Super imagination, precision, patience perseverance perfection in your creation, it shows a personified person u are
Mate, I consider you the best quiet achiever of the Aussie Maker YT scene and it is great to finally meet you (and learn I'd been mispronouncing the "OOLLA" with "ALLA" :P) While us more "CZcamsy" hobbyists are having fun chatting to ourselves about the same old wooden topics you are taking out time from making some of Australia's best bespoke furniture and showing everyone up with your filmography and editing all while not saying a word and running a full-time business. Commendable stuff. Just keep doing what you are doing. My judge of if a maker channel is doing the video thing right is if my wife, someone not generally interested in watching big bits of wood get smaller and re-arranged, can sit through the whole thing. You'll be glad to know you pass with flying walnut and brass colours ;)
Nick your work is amongst some of the best I’ve ever seen. The attention to detail and thought that goes into your builds along with your video editing it’s poetic. Really inspiring and makes me want to challenge myself more. Thank you for the content!
Awesome! Thank you
I can only repeat myself: RESPECT. The way you treat wood is extraordinary. It is really a pleasure to watch your videos. Keep up the good work!
I am a retired scientist and woodworking is one of my passionate hobbies. I also watch and follow many woodworkers and just came upon your video, thanks to Google AI😁😁. I must say this is one of the 'ZEN EXPERIENCE" of watching you work to create such masterpieces. Your designs and the techniques to translate form to function has a NOBLE quality. Now I have one great GOTO woodworking content on YT
I looked at furniture designs many times, but your work surprised me. It would seem the classic shape of the table, but the color and storage space with a gilded handle of an unusual shape. Excellent product.
My favourite woodworker on CZcams. You make some truly beautiful pieces.
Thanks so much
The way you think of these creations is just…. I don’t know how to describe it? Im speechless. Well done and 10/10 for the execution!
Keep up the fantastic work, Nick!
Another great piece Nick and finally get to meet you. Seeing as how I usually live on the Northern Beaches would love to come and see your workshop one day.
I've never seen anything like this. You are a true master and artist. Mind = blown
Just wow, the whole build ! But I love the drawer face design and the jigs you used . Amazing mate, well done 👍🏼
Im a special inspector of reinforced concrete, masonry, California Building Code... and at 42, Im just now realizing how much I love woodworking, and of all the content out there, you create the most beautiful pieces. Wish I was a fly on your wall!
Every time you share your work it's a treat. I love everything you do. If you're including more of yourself or talking about your projects, I won't mind. I'm stunned at every piece. So thank you. Great work.
Thank you
My goodness I can only imagine how nice the house is of the person that buys this! Superb work. I think the little chat at the end was a great cap off. Anyone who is curious about your work in even greater detail would definitely stay engaged there. Thanks for sharing how you do things!
Your craftsmanship is nothing short of amazing. The design made the furniture look elegant and refine. The work is truly something to be proud of and should be displayed to the public. Do not be shy because you are a high value person.
You deserve a lot more subscribers because the originality of your work pieces .good luck to you !!
Nick, you're a true artist. Every piece you create is a piece of beautiful art. Keep those videos coming buddy.
Now I understand why your work is so magnificent! Your explanation of the joinery and your attention in planning and execution to the most minute of details speaks for yourself...Nice to meet you Nick!
Thanks so much
That table is truly a masterpiece. For my taste it is absolutely beautiful. It is a work of art that may be regarded as a classic for hundreds of years to come. Nice to see and listen to the master himself.
Only few people can have such patience. Precision, Perfection and Accuracy. I envy you.
Man, you are so talented! Truly love watching these builds. Glad you’re sharing more detail about the build too. Like to see more of this. Keep up the amazing work!
Absolute masterpiece....joy to watch each and every single second....nice design and beautiful built. I want to say thank YOU for another great video !
Thanks for watching
There are many woodworking channels, but for design and craftsmanship Pedulla is unbeatable.
It became obvious why your products are so beautiful. All the working moments, the material, the working hands, you yourself are immaculately beautiful. These things are for a fabulous life.
The quality of your work and the production is amazing. Love the lighting and simplicity of how you show what you are about to do without needing to explain it with words. Keep it up. Your work is amazing and it is a level I would aspire to get to.
Absolutely beautiful. I'm weekend hobbyist getting ready to retire in a couple years and pursue woodworking more seriously. You provide a vision to aspire to in my work.
Thats great! All the best
With you on that plan. I’m at the same place
Mark Coverdale, my journey to a workshop and a passion for fine woodworking begins soon as I end my medical career. I only wish I could make the exquisite furniture that Nick produces with the attention to detail ,design ,functional joinery and organic shapes but with a refined simplicity. Absolutely mind blowing work that shows the real beauty of the wood. I hope our planet can keep producing the craftsmen like Nick and the material timber to showcase nature to its finest. A masterpiece of beauty and functional grace.
You are more than just an artist in carpentry because you have a rare and special talent with which you have a deep sense of what you make. and I thank your grandfather who taught you to love this artistic profession
Hi, you are really an artist. My grandfather, 50 years ago, knew how to make hand-made dovetail joints with a chisel and saw. He had no money for machinery and had a carpentry workshop where he did everything by himself and by hand. He was very good and I still have wooden furniture made by him.
Nick great work. I have been wood working for over 40 years and I must say I have learned from you. You have some Ideas I would like to use. It is rare to find new Ideas in the furniture making craft. Most new ideas are tools to make the work easier but you have added some design Ideas that I hope use in future project. I can see you love your work and it is beautiful thanks for your example. Dave H. USA
Thanks for the kind comment Dave!
Outstanding Video as always Nick. I must say, I almost fell over when I got my copy of Australian Wood Review magazine in the mail with your face on the cover! Great to here the story behind the man I have followed on CZcams for so long. Looking forward to seeing what comes next....
Thanks Steven. Glad you enjoyed the article
Nick - I absolutely love your work. True craftsmanship is a rare and precious privilege. I have been a woodworker for 50 years. I totally appreciate your respect for the medium, treasure your pursuit of perfection and much appreciate your skill sets. Thanks again for sharing.
This is truly Art in Woodworking. I am a Carpenter too, i just finished my 4 Learning Course and I'm stunned by your Work. I hope youtube helps you get more and awesome clients so that we can keep getting inspiration out of your videos. Thank you :)
Outstanding work-well done! Also, your shop is most wood workers’ dream!
This is the first video I’ve seen from your channel. The level of skill, craftsmanship, and artistry just blew me away. This was an instant subscribe, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. (Also will be binging your other videos!)
Awesome Thank you
The way you build things trips my trigger. Wish I was there. Bravo 👏
From one artisan to another...I love your work.
You are an artist in a league of your own. Keep them coming please.
Thank you
As an amateur woodworker, I don't know whether I should be thrilled or totally depressed. Your work is high up there, in that pantheon of woodworking artists where there's no much room. I'm in awe.
Thank you
You are my biggest inspiration for ideas. I love woodworking, but when anybody ask something about it, answer is: "did you know Pedulla?"........ Damn you goooood!
I have been watching BlackTail's work and was blown away by how beautiful wood can be. And then YT started showing yours on my recommendation, at first I kind of thought your work is rather subtle in comparison. Then I started to appreciate the design language in your work. I have to watch your video twice to try to see the detailed steps you left out. Whilst BlackTail wows with first sight with his pieces, your work oozes exceptional craftsmanship in subtle details. Both amazing craftsmen yet represent totally different beauty with their crafts. Thank you.
Greatest of all designs.
Original designs and creation always hits.
magnificent
I must say you do some wonderful work. This is only my second video that I watched. I’m very impressed with your skill level in woodworking. Looking forward to watching more videos in the future. Until the next time keep up the beautiful piece you build. Thanks!!!!
Your artistry pulls an emotional response. Those who own your work are the lucky custodians of your legacy. Thank you for sharing your immense talent with the world.
Glad to have a a grandvather with 8 years like you had….awesome work :)
Mesmerising. Clever. Complex. Sensual to both eye and touch and stylish (I'm guessing that's the Italian in you)! A joy to watch a true ARTisan at work. Bless your grandfather for taking his grandson to a career. I'm stunned!
This is one of the best walnut desk ever made.... The Craftsmanship is just wow!!
SO so glad to find Ozy woodworker. Stunning work.
Nick your work is absolutely second to none. I don't know how this build slipped through my fingers until now but it's absolutely beautiful! You have amazing vision excusit execution.
David Spade said the best complement a woodworker can give another is "WOW!" This is a WOW! piece. Gets scarier at the end because of all the time effort and materials that went into the piece. Thanks for showing your face...LOL!
Third video watched, love your channel, been doing woodworking for 45 + yrs. Right now I am a Sheetmetal foreman for a roofing company, copper, stainless. I retire in less than 4 yrs, I will make one off pieces like yourself out of my love for woodworking. Bravo👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Love your work. The brass accents are amazing.
Wow, what a master piece. “Overkill” is good! And thanks for introducing yourself.
Unbelievable skill, craftsmanship, and what a beautifully built piece of furniture.
Watching you achieve the quality you do only makes me want to achieve the same.
Really enjoyed your video.
From, Missouri USA
You are an artist and a genius. Showing your face will enhance the long term value of your pieces. Thank you and God bless.
No matter what anybody thinks, having the best wood working tools like a domino cutting machine for a professional artist like you is essential. This is your life and business, you cannot take shortcuts on tools as they make your projects even better. By the way the desk is beautiful a true work of art. Good day mate all the way from Weed California.
Your work is absolutely beautiful, elegant, fine craftsmanship that I have seen as a woodworker. Fine woodworking is never an overkill. Thank you.
From a master to a master .... you are unbelieveble .... Your designe and your skills are unbelieveble and i am speechless .........
Thank you for all of your Insperation ..
You have an incredible gift. The attention to detail and design are truly inspiring. To be able to create pieces that come alive is a rarity. To possess such an item a dream. Thank you for sharing your life’s journey.
Nick your work is out of this world. Your like Sam maloofs a famous carpenter that made some beautifull rocking chairs, even one of the usa president ask him to build him one. I quez you could call him the wood whisper. He just knew the ins and outside of working with wood. And you are the same who ever showed you was or is an excellent teacher.
Your work is a true inspiration. I finished a carpentry education when i was 18 (28 now) and did quite some different things after that, but i did get the oldschool way of woodworking taught. Lately i’ve been thinking about starting my own works when i finish building my garage. So what i’m trying to say is that the way you treat your projects is something i one day want to be ablo to do to.
With passion, patience, safety and joy!
STUNNING!!! There is nothing else to say except that you have amazing talent!!
Speechless . Maestro Giuseppe Verdi
Genius. Incredible work of art, and amazingly humble and genuine artist.
Came for the thumbnail, stayed for the craftsmanship, subscribed for the humility. Outstanding work, lovely piece. Looking forward to the next.
Thank you
One Powerball and all my furniture will be by Pedulla 🤞 Top-notch artisanry 👍
I know it’s been a while since you released this video. But going back to the beginning, it’s great to see your face and hear your voice. The detail of your your works are astounding! I’m so glad I found your channel. Stay amazing!
A big thank you from France, your achievements are extraordinary. Continue to make us dream with your work.
Much respect to you Nick. Thanks for introducing yourself.
Fine, Fine Craftsmanship at it's pinnacle. There are no short cuts to perfection. Well done and high quality video work as well.
Man this isn't woodworking... This is something else. This is out of this world
Well I am pleased that you chose to make yourself known. You are a master of your skills and you should be proud of it. I am James and i am located in Maryland USA. I also learned the craft from my Father and the school of Hard Knocks and at 72 I am still learning every day and from craftsman like yourself. Thank you for the school circle Sir.
Without question your craftsmanship is by far the best I've seen on CZcams. Your attention to detail is exceptional. And your obvious appreciation for elegance is definitely worthy of praise. That being said, I look forward to the day when I can purchase a custom table from you.
No man thank you sir nothing but respect beautiful ..also good to see and hear from you
mate you are not a tradesman you are a artist beautiful work loved watching it thank you..
This is not carpentry anymore. THIS IS FINE ART. Bravooo........!!!
Thank You for sharing your fantastic designs and craftmanship. Great to finally meet the man behind the mask with amazing skills.
I love learning from excellent craftsman. Your use of templates and jigs is very educational. Thanks for making all of us better!
Antonio, Carpentier from the Peruvian Amazon, thank you for your master classes!
You are a true artist!
Don't be shy, stand in your power!
Thanks for sharing your work!
You designs are really great. I love it. The minimalistic design but with the accents of copper or gold leaf makes it truly fantastic. Well done
You are a artisan that has perfected craftsmanship on a whole new level. Are you sure you’re from this planet? Amazing amazing amazing.
Absolutely incredible craftsmanship. As an amateur hand-tool-only woodworker who completes maybe 1.5 - 2 pieces per year, my workflow couldn't be more different. Seeing how someone does this at the highest professional level teaches so much in terms of efficiency and design. Your videos have popped up in my que several times over the last several years, but I never got around to watching them. Well, only one video in and you have a new subscriber!
Extremely well done Nick! I'm a former cabinetmaker here stateside and your craftsmanship and attention to detail is amazing. You just earned another subscriber and certainly I wish I had the opportunity to be an apprentice at 43.
Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve before kings.
Thanks for watching and subscribing
Just one word, Magnificient ,long may you continue.
