It’s so nice to listen to a civilised balanced conversation about this topic, especially coming from brothers. The religion is easy, look after the boundaries of Allah and Allah will look after you. May Allah put barakah in your podcast!

An interesting listen, mash’Allah. There are sisters out there that are yearning to get married, however, cannot seem to find marital suitors (bros) so it’s not one sided!

Beautiful podcast and may allah reward you both ameen.
I will also recommend everyone to watch Ali Hammuda marriage series. Marriage is beautiful but seeing divorce rate on social media and the backlash sometimes can put you down as a person. It is actually rare to find a righteous spouse . This is why we pray and make dua . You can meet someone through the mosque but still wouldn’t know them . The prophet Mohammed peace be upon said you wouldn’t know someone until you live with them , travel with them and do business with them . Since I started practicing I have learned to have tawakkul in everything . Focus on yourself and your relationship with Allah and whatever meant for you will reach you .

Subhanallah! You’re right at the end of the day Allah knows best and what he has decreed is always better for us as he is the best of planners. A lot of times we get caught up in the haste of wanting to get married, which is not bad, however it’s important to fortify your relationship with Allah and put all your trust in him.
We appreciate the kind words. May Allah bless you!

Salam alaikom ! I want you to thank brothers for discussing this topic lotta people think marriage is only about being stable financially have a house and a job but it’s more about your manners , maturity, respect and understanding these ones are the basis of strong long term relationship may allah guide all of us and may allah grant us the right spouses ameen

Ameen. May Allah bless you! Yeah that’s what we wanted to get across. Of course focus on improving financially but don’t let that be the only thing you work on prior to marriage. For example, your deen. Is that in a good place so that you can lead by example in your new household? It’s very important for us to think about these things. May Allah make it easy for us and grant us spouses that bring the best out of us all.

This is absolutely a fantastic episode subhannallah.
I am truly blown away by the way both of you think and articulate yourself allahummabarik. I just listened to the whole episode in one setting and didn't skipping a single second because this was so insightful. The way you both speak is genuinely admirable.
Hope you guys will have second episode on this topic. I loved the bit about social media and a future conversation abt this would be cool!
Perhaps since you both are reverts you're better at actually understanding and valuing true islamic principles. Instead of mixing it with culture. I am sincerely in awe of this beautiful conversation. I have so much respect for reverts because you literally chose to give up all "everything" in this world for Allah swt. It would be interesting to listen to your story coming to islam:)
I am grateful Alhamdulliah to stumble upon this channel and excited to follow your journey!
May Allah bless you, with the right spouse, a happy life, and in the hereafter:))
    Jazakhallah khair brothers.

Just a thought, should sisters take seriously any guy who says both the husband and wife should work together with the finances, despite him being in a good place financially? Instead of answering or acknowledging that it’s a husband’s job to provide? I ask because I’m wondering if that’s a red flag of some sort, as in, maybe this brother is quite reluctant to actually provide for his wife financially in a basic sense.

    • @PursuitofIhsaan
      @PursuitofIhsaan  Před rokem +5

Salam, I would say that it’s a red flag if a man demands everything should be 50/50 financially. A man should have the aspiration and desire to provide financially. It is an obligation given by Allah so if he’s absolving the sister of that right I would advise the sister to be cautious or not marry him until he understands his responsibilities or don’t marry him at all.
However, I do understand that, especially, if you’re getting married young complete financial provision may be difficult. That being said the man should not force the woman to work it should be something she decides to do. Sometimes it’s important to consider the context of things as it’s not always black and white, rather it is gray.
      May Allah bless you!
