I also tried to capture the beautiful backgrounds in this game of different locations which are related to the characters in some way and their smooth critical animations which really remind of GBA Fire Emblem Crits! This took quite a lot of time to make, and also to consistently upscale every single part of this video to constant 60FPS and also to 4K, so I hope you enjoy this video!

Well, Fogado's Cupid is imo clear winner here - Nomad Trooper animations made even more badass in 3d with such care are just too good!
As for second, i would put wyvern knight as each weapon they use feels like it references a different game (axes for example the radiant animations)!
And third, Ivy's Mid Air Casting because i am biased lol
For the uniques, the Brodia boys' T2 does good.
The Firenese and Solmic siblings' T2 are also good. Big shoutout to Timerra's gymnastics with the lance, knew there was potential when I first saw her.
For the generics, throwing weapons got a huge upgrade with the pegasi, the rider jumping up in the air to yeet their weapon at the enemy
Sword Pallies now inherit GBA Nomad Trooper's animation and its hype.
Mage Knight's is basically 1:1 from FE8 and I like it.
Sniper does take after Alcryst's unique T2, but is shortened.
Warrior inherits the GBA Hero's crit and its hella savage.
Arts and Dagger Engaged crits are hype too. Especially Arts, where any Engaged Qi Adept becomes Liu Kang/Bruce Lee and do the 1 inch punch.
Wolf knight axe version. The wolf tagging in is just to good.
Panette's Beserker class. I bet many people use her dub her as the Crit Machine.

I find Alfred's Avenir crit animations really funny because the fact that he strikes three times with his lance just to sync up with how critical hits do three times the damage is cute IMO.

Some people say we’ve hit “3D GBA” levels of of animations, and for the most part I agree…and I think in some parts these animations surpass the GBA animations, for example being able to entirely jump off the mount for a moment during the crit.
Nomad Trooper sword critical animation does the same, but I agree these are very dynamic. The mounted Sentinel bow critical animation looks to be a reference to it, which is pretty cool.
I really love the Martial Masters and Dancer's crit animations.
The ones that involve kicks before using their weapon also looks awesome.
Also Lindwurn. I bet Ivy took lessons from Claude
Fates came close, but it suffer from 3ds animation quality which is decent at best.
Paladin horse jump and Swordmaster kick is really cool
Didn't RD have Gold/Silver Paladins have a crit animation where they jump off as well? Or was that with the whole horse?
The wolf knight with Tomahawk (ranged axe) is ridiculous and so good, it defies physics lol.

Love how Cupido's critical animation is inspired from Nomad Trooper! The way he whispers to his horse, and the way he does acrobat move around!
I really like Alcryst’s double backflip but I had no idea Fogado’s crits were so flashy!
Of the regular classes I really like the mage classes not just for the crit but the little animations after the fight too: making the book disappear, flipping through the pages, and for mage knight: the character sheathing their sword just sounds really nice to me for some reason.
All the animations are so good in Engage.
Can we all agree that lapis has some of the coolest designs in this game? Then again, I really like red

@@fridaynightralsei8495 I do know that when a character that's engaged Lucina, Corrin or Byleth would use their crit quotes whenever they use their engage skills.

By the way in case no one noticed, the Cupido bow crit is a reference to the Nomad Trooper’s Sword Crit from FE6 and 7.

Wolf Knights have amazing animations in general. Gotta give it to the Axe Wolf Knight, though for the wolf flicking the axe at the enemy. Amazing.

I really enjoy the use of camera angles in these. Prime examples being the Sniper and Great Knight (Hand Axe) having you follow the projectile.
THANK YOU FOR THIS. I have been waiting for a crit compilation, especially to see the ones for classes I haven't really used much.
As for my favorite, it would probably be either sniper or warrior since I have always liked infantry more than mounted units in general. Though, I'd give honorable mentions to sword/lance paladin since their crits are actually neat.

Some of these crit quotes lmao. Imagine fighting for your life hearing "it's tea time" followed by a blue haired woman splitting your friend in half with an axe.
I think, not just for crits but in general, Fell Child has my favorite animations. Specifically, Obscurite crit, and Mesericode victory animations

I love all of Fogado's prf class animations, however I gotta say the base sentinel bow crit is much better than Cupido's
Base lord's sword crit for Diamant is considered better than his promotion's across the board too

I feel like this should be an insignificant detail but I appreciate that there aren't really many ridiculous character/class combinations to showcase this. Just cool animations from the characters you'd expect to see them from :)

The fell child and wolf knight are top tier favorite for me its insane how crazy these animations are done.
I like the Divine Dragon laser for arts. Shame I never saw it because I never gave Alear an Art to use. Too busy using Tiki on her.
I think it's safe to say we finally have 3D combat animations that are at the same level as the GBA ones, this game's combat is so beautiful! I do understand the reason they gave for 3 Houses animations needing to be a little more tame, but I'm glad the devs were able to go all out for Engage
3:45 that was without question the sickest animation I ever seen in this series. Well that and 4:15.
Watching this makes me want to a meme run where I play with some unconventional class character combinations. Like wolf knight Alfred and barbarian Céline.
Wish all of the Levin Sword animations were more like the Griffin Knight one. Reminds me of the Wind Edge animation of RD or the old cool sword wave the Ragnell used to do

It's a kind of funny how much effort went into animating all these crits just for about a third to never be used used due to the promotion exp mechanics
I thought three houses had a the best animations, but when it came out it blew my mind! It's more fun to watch and smoother quite a lot.

This feels much more closer to the GBA games than anything they've done in recent years.
Even the armored classes feel closer to GBA generals.
I was really disappointed in the pill bug look they gave Awakening, and the ones after that weren't all that good either.

I think Bow Knight and Mage Knight reuse the base cavalier crit animations for their weapon triangle weapons, so they’re not entirely unique.

i think the animations in this game are on par with GBA in terms of how flashy they are and making you feel like you just wrecked the enemy

It does but it's shared with other cav classes like Paladins, Mage/Bow Knights and is not unique. I have them at the end and you can see him use a Flame Lance :)

Choosing my favorite is not difficult at all. Wolf knight with a tomahawk is way too classy. Special mention for wolf knight with an axe and Alcryst's specific critical moves

My problem with this franchise is that I can't get over how much better the GBA trilogy was. Swordmaster Crit in GBA > any swordmaster crit in 3D.
I prefer a lot of crits in this game to those of GBA, and I'm a huge GBA fan, when it comes to fe7 and fe6.
