When I saw this video pop up, I thought well that's not a worthy topic and I know how to use snipping tool. Then I watched it and I've learned to never question Leila. If she made a video about something, there's something to be learned
Wow! Who said: "you can't teach an old dog new tricks"? Well, I'm an old dog and you just showed me some new ticks. I knew how to take screen shots but not all the other great tips you just gave us! Thanks.
Same here. Loved these tips
Another great video!
Windows+Shift+S has changed my life
The key combination of: Alt+PrintScreen captures the currently active window as well
Thank you Leila
đ
I've been waiting for shapes for sooooo long. Excellent that they have now added these.
It was about time too đ
I'm glad Microsoft continues to improve the Snipping Tool. I use it all the time.
Straight to the point and simple. Thanks.
Excellent video showing the various options.
I've used the Snipping Tool often in Windows 10, but not since I recently upgraded my system to Windows 11, so this video is very useful and I've a learnt a lot of new tricks! However, right clicking a screenshot image it doesn't offer Visual Search, though it is available on images viewed in Edge browser. A minor niggle, but yet another excellent tutorial from you Leila! đ
Great to hear! You might have to wait a bit longer for the visual search to appear in your system.
This was great. It's a total timesaver to edit the screenshot right in the snipping tool. Normally, I would do most of that in word as I tend to edit a lot of training docs with screenshots for visuals.
Thank you very much for your time sharing this. I use the snipping tool several times a day and never noticed the option to record video. Thank you again!
Thank you Leila for the video snip tool feature, so helpful when I create training documents.
Useful and on point, thanks
Wow your animated graphics are so cool, elegant and educationally on point. Great video with highly useful information. Thank you for making this.
Useful video tutorial, love all your videos!
Thank you! Loads of tips for something I use often
Seems to me this used to be in the screenshot tool. I'm glad they brought it back. Thanks for this Leila!
I like the delay! Video recorder and draw shapes. So many good improvements!
Thank you for sharing! Very useful information.
Leila, you're AMAZING!!! I've been a silent follower for a while but I truly learned so much from you. Thank you for everything.
Thank you so much for you kind comment! Means a lot đ
Amazing video as usual. Thanks very much.
At the 2:05 mark, " ... not everyone likes change ..."
Prof Leila teaches 'change' ... and I am thankful for it. I don't always understand it ... initially, but always appreciate the insights.
Thank you ... thank you ... thank you ... đđđ
PS
Off to a bit of a late start this morning for me ... on vacation in the western wilds of Maryland ... but still welcome an opportunity to learn from Prof. Leila.
Thank you for tuning in even while you're on vacation! đ Have a great time off and enjoy your time in the wilderness!
short sweet and to the point. thank you
Great videos, clearly presented and very informative! Thanks Leila!
Thanks â€. Superb topicđ
Thank you for the useful video on all features of snipping tool.
Our pleasure!
Leila, you're the best! Thank you!!
I will definitely try. Thank you
Most welcome đ
Great Video! Thanks for the info!
Glad it was helpful!
very clear explanation, thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Perfect, thanks
Amazing... excellent as always...
Thanks for sharing đ.....
Very cool. Thanks.
I feel the possibility to add text directly in the snipping tool without editing in Paint is the only feature that is missing , do you agree ?
This is really cool. I've been using the Snipping Tool for a few years, but I didn't know about some of the features; e.g., the freeform capture.
Always more to learn đ
Thank you very much
Great advices! Thank you! :)
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent and informative video â€
That's fantastic! Learning these essential skills in just a 12-minute video is incredible!
Great to hear!
Thank you
These are some fantastic tips! Really appreciate it!
Glad you like them!
It is amazing tips. Thanks.
Many thanks Leila... I got the ruler back. đ„°
Regarding your little problem with the text, it's possible to have a macro running in the "worksheet_change" sub where code detects which cell was modified and erase the cell content.
A second option would be to use conditional formatting to set the color to white as soon as a cell is modified. In this case the content would not be really discarded but it can generate a panic effect on beginners. đ
Yes. The RULER âș
I like both suggestions. The real reason was guessed by Geert :) Cell formatting ;;; to hide all values.
Thank you!
Thanks alot, Leila
I m very thankful to U, it is great lesson and very helpful for me. Thanks Miss.
Great video Leila, thank you!
Thanks for watching, Chris!
Thank you Leila
Super exciting, just a little envious of apparently living in a region that is lagging with updates, I simply don't have all the functionality yet, but good to know what's on the way
Thanks
Great video. I use the snipping tool daily. Just wish they would give you the option to add simple text to a screenshot.
Thank you as you make my life easier â€
You are so welcome!
Great video and has excellent useful tips. Thank you so much. Did you use vba code to make the text disappear?
Vow, a great tutorial . Even though I know how to take screenshots, your video demonstrated very new hidden tricks and tips I never knew before. Thanks a lot Madam. GOD BLESS.
You're amazing! Thanks!
Thank you! Appreciate it.
You rich man
thanks
Good & informative video. Disappearing text is basically ;;; formatting
Nice, thank you. Even better, if you're to able to save these screenshots with the annotations into one screenshot. (Instead of multiple screenshots without a third-party app or another Microsoft app).
Excellent
â€
Good tip with the delay. I hadnât used that yet
Finally in 2024, we get an out-of-the-box screen-recorder in windows. Whatâs next, a task manger which differentiates intels E and P cores or shows paused coresâŠ
@Leila thx, i knew most of the stuff, but there are always some new details to lern.
Thanks for this! Many features were in Windows 10 already, but I see the improvements. Am I the only one who would love to be able to change the opacity/saturation of the highliters? I feel like apart from yellow and green, the others need a bit less intensity. It would be nice to have it.

This is great. Thank you. I was about to pay for SnagIt. Now I think Windows has me covered.
Question: How does one take a screenshot of a window requiring scroll? Imagine an excel sheet with 100 rows of data
Copy the cells in excel and paste as image
Maybe excel isn't the best example as it has its own way. How about any other software window. Other screenshot tools identify scroll and weave the image together (Snagit calls it panorama). Is that possible in Snipping Tool.
Not snipping tool as such yet, but Edge has this feature. You can scroll and capture the entire web page.
Great video as usual but you never mentioned the Windows + V for pasting from the clipboard
Very helpful, especially the video recording option and text extraction.
Would be great if the update also included a counter option (used for creating manuals) and an option to obfuscate an area of the screenshot (not just email and phone numbers).
Je vous remercie pour cette vidĂ©o. Impeccable ! Mes salutations de la đšđ
Merci! đ
Wow, so cool! I hadn't been paying much attention to the Snipping Tool because it stopped responding to Shift-Win-S several months ago. I could get it to open, but I had to do it via the Start menu, and the extra steps for getting to where I could take a screen shot had me just falling back on Shift-PrtSc to copy the current window to the clipboard, pasting it into Paint and saving it as a JPG. I tried to fix it, but working with Snipping Tool's options made no difference, so I just ignored it. Because of your video, I tried PrtSc, Shift-PrtSc and Shift-Win-S again, and I was thrilled to find that not only is it responding to all the hotkeys again, but I have the updated Snipping Tool you just demonstrated. I think I will celebrate by making the "Here's How To Get A Screen Share Started" video that my remote support tool has never made!
Yay! That's great to hear!
Thank you for showing these new features! I wish it has the ability to add text so I don't have to go to paint just to add some text.
Omg, what a great and useful vid
Glad you think so!
I need to copy and paste this tutorial into my brain đ
thanks for your explanation Leila, but still I also seek out the scroll screenshot feature, which Microsoft did not append in this version..
Great job, as usual... very clear, very informative. And of course, your looks and voice are very easy on the eyes and ears.... but, don't get a big head... it'll change your look and voice too much. Do you know if the video capture options allow highlighting mouse position and clicking?
Can you please make a video for "switch" formula and if it can completely replace "If"
For disappearing things (like tooltips in Excel or Power BI) I have always found the timer really tricky to use. I simply use a PrintScreen (with Shift usually for me) to copy to clipboard and then open Paint which gives the whole screen (2 screens actually) as an image. For some reason PrintScreen keeps the vanishing tool tips. Then I just snip from the Paint screen (usually using the snipper).
Maybe the timer has got easier, or maybe it just needs more practice time than I ever had patience for.
I like the new version of snipping tool â€â€â€â€
Thanks
Please also guide on the following problem
My win 11 desktop takes too.long to update crop images on deskstop
Yup, pretty useful, under the category of photo editing tools. I tried them out before, the only request would be to add a text box next time the digital Pencil, other than that, loving the copying and pasting text right from the images, a better improvement would be to recognize text links automatically like a QR code. Cool and informative video, tho! đșđ„°đ©âđ»âïžđ
Thanks! How can I capture a web page (screen capture, not video) in the browser that's longer than one page long?
Loved the features from 7:22 to 8:35
Canât wait for the superior tool Snipaste to get these features đ
Honestly this was a miss by Microsoft to catch up to them
Thank you, windows+shift+s - is real discovery for me ;)
đ for Leila đfor Win 11. I will check this out. I wonder how big the video will be for recording 2 minutes.
Your all video are very awesome â€mam I â€
Question: is there a build in function similar to Phrase express in windows or word? Thanks.
Hi Leila, Thank you very much and greetings from Ottawa. I have a question: Is it possible to annotate text directly in the Snipping Tool instead of using freehand writing, so I don't have to edit the picture in Paint? Additionally, I can't see the emoji button even though I have the latest version!
Full screen grabs everything on all your screens.
Ma'am I want key combination for Google sheets for corresponding function of Excel such as ctrl+enter, go to blank cell etc pls
Cool
would have been great if they add the scrolling screenshot

PROBLEM: AutoSave to Screenshots folder not working. Even though I checked the settings to make sure it's on, it doesn't work. Any ideas? Also, your ideas about what info to share are always so stellar and right on! đ
I just use ice cream screen recorder. It`s free and you can take a screenshot of any part of your screen by clicking custom screen shot and dragging the borders to any part of the screen and it saves the screenshot to the ice cream folder in documents.
Thanks again for all your great tips. Your font color is white so you can't see the cell contents.
Close but not quite. đ
I have a challenge for you. Whatâs the easiest way to setup something like a Kiosk mode, where people can only interact with the current displayed window e.g an excel file but it is easy to unlock this and regain control when the main user returns, thanks đ
How to open the clipboard with multiple clipping ?
Does it capture whole screen with scroll down
tldw - is there a way to ONLY get it in clipboard and not as a saved file?
On Mac, you can hold control and it does just that. I quite like that and use it often.
Great video but im using sharex feeling that more advanced
Are these updates available in Windows 10 also?
I'd like to know this too. They aren't currently in my version.
I do use it a lot. What still missing: text.
Great, just wanna know if there is any option to Redact as per our choice instead of only email or phone number ?
No, only email and phone number.
