    I started with my Roland TD-4 & upgraded to making my own kit out of cheap acoustic drums which was nice. But when I seen the Roland VAD 506 I knew I was gonna buy it!
    Yes it's expensive but not so bad if u finance thru Sweetwater which runs me $100 a month. One of the best purchases I've ever made. It feels the closest to acoustic & sounds great. The feel & abuse this thing can take is amazing. And I added my old CY-14 & 15 to expand the kit & I will be purchasing another floor tom to make this thing a dream kit. ROLAND has proven to know e-drums better than anyone. And VAD series is their best yet

      Hi Simon, Thanks for your reply. I would highly appreciate it if you could explain how the different cam-types of bass drum pedals influence the playing/response (excentric vs. 'normal'): I actually had an old bass drum pedal (from the 70's) with straps (and excentric cam) from TAMA, but it's completely broken and cannot be repaired. I use now for at least a 900 TAMA Iron Cobra (chain drive) which is ok, but nowhere near the performance of the old one. Could you recommend a similar dual pedal with a similar performance?
      Thank you very much in advance for your reply.
      Kind regards, Sepp

      It depends. If you use a second kick trigger pad you loose an extra input for another crash or Tom. On the other hand the kick pad seemed a little unstable with the double kick pedal as you can see in the Video but I think I’d rather go with a double pedal instead of a second kick Pad/Pedal especially because of the placement next to the hi-hat stand. //Simon

    • @astral_17
      @astral_17 Před 2 lety

      vad306 is still on td-17 module, the only thing you'd get out of vad 306 is the so called "better feel" due to the shells that brings you closer to realism. TD-17 module allows you to add on only one more aux input. For 27kv, it comes with that nice 14 inch digital snare and the large 18 inch digital ride. The module is also superior to the td-17 and if im not wrong, has 3 extra aux inputs where you can add more crashes, pads etc. I only wished that they could have provided a better kick pad for the 27kv. but nevertheless, i prefer the 27kv over the vad306.
      If aesthetics are more important to you, go for vad306. If not, the 17kvx is really good for value. If you have the budget, go for the 27kv.

      @@stevec7435 I've made my choice. After spending around 8 hours of research I will go with the Surge. Why?
      1-Nitro has a tinny rubber kick drum that is not quiet and sucks when you try to put a double bass drum pedal.
      2-Command is exactly the same as Surge but you pay more for the module (more kits and you have better sounds than Surge but still completely sucks compare to good drum plugins but!, you can put your own samples in the module) and for the "more versatile supports" for the crash and ride.. which seems absolutely useless.
      I'm in an apartment, i want to be quiet and put a double kick pedal and run with good vst plugins (that sounds way better) so, that seems to me the best option so far.
      Hope it help you. Cheers 🍻

    • @davidlajeunesse2168
      @davidlajeunesse2168 Před 3 lety +1

      Also, you need to know that the cymbals are 1 zone touch for all of these units and the receptor will not be responsive if you put a 2 or 3 zones cymbals. That's the only kinda big negative point that entry Alesis drums have. I think i've seen some people that tweek their setup and put a 2 zones cymbal a plug it into the toms input that have 2 zones touch (skin and rim). Something like that!

    for the price.. the millenium! plug it into the pc/mac and run SSD, EZdrums, superior drummer, addictive drums, etc... The Alesis Crimson Mesh SE 2, is also a beautiful kit, for the price.
    The rest are amazing with their inbuilt sounds, but really?... having a pc/mac attached to it, it saves you lots of cash, and you will be sounding even better. ;)

    The real question since its an electronic. is how bad it is that if your electric drum broken?
    Is it common? Or is the repair price high?

    All non Roland kits having a very bad sound .. i guess the quality is also less if they can’t even get the sound right.
    I’ll never give up my acoustic Gretsch, way more quality-durability-value then electric kits.
    I would only use an electric kit for practice or fun, the mesh heads and receivers aren’t the best in durability either and expensive to change every 2y

    Thanks for sharing your knowledge! God bless you! And please remember the following:
    For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
    Because God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world would be saved by him.
    He who believes in him is not condemned; but he who does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3: 16-18
