Hey all, on watching this back I realise I talk about having Bluetooth or wireless functionality to connect to headphones or speakers, the reality of that would be pretty terrible as there would be a delay from hitting the pad to hearing the sounds, so it’s not really practical. A guy can dream though. 😅🤘🏻
Thank you. I'm new to drumming and thinking of purchasing the NITRO MAX. Your review was very helpful.
I’ve been playing for 30 years, just bought one of these kits for the sake of space saving and noise reduction so the issues with the pedal/snare stand won’t effect me as I already have my own stand/pedal that I can use and well happy that I caught your video so I can avoid the snare issue from the start!
I just ordered a Nitro Max kit, and I will try using a snare stand for the snare... glad I kept my snare and stand when I sold the rest of the kit!
I put the snare where the module is usually mounted so it is sturdier having two leg support, it also mounts it higher since I'm tall. I then mounted the module on the arm meant for the snare and swung it outside the kit. It's a little harder to reach and see, but it's working out way better this way.
Thank you. This is a really useful video.
Thanks a lot for this review! I think I will buy this kit, for my first step in drumming
I wish you the best. Making music and sharing it with people is a powerful thing.
I've had no issues with the snare, but I've noticed that some people set the kit up incorrectly by having the top toms L brackets on the inside of the rack instead of the outside. That means that the toms are closer to you, and then you have to move the snare too far along the horizontal cross piece towards you, and that's probably where the issue starts. Also if you're a hard hitter with heavy sticks that ain't gonna help either.
I agree with you, students WACK drums and then you have problems, I've had no issues with my Max and it's been 3 months.
Don’t worry about it if you can’t but it’d be cool making a video explaining what you mean for people setting their kit up
@@Imbettadenu ok.
Thank you for this. I've had the kit a week and I love it ...but I've already noticed a few issues. It could be my headphones, but I've noticed some of the sounds echo regardless of whether I change the reverb or not. The HH splash also isn't as intuitive as I thought it would be compared to an acoustic kit, which is obv instant.
Thanks man I needed some of these pointers my buddy told me the less you know the harder you should play 😂
Good video!
I bought myself a snare stand 10-15 inch one. Works perfect. Was an issue when it was on the frame playing heavy stuff and getting into it
Thanks for your vids! I already buy myself nitro max and it's pretty nice for my first e-drum kit. Right now I think about upgrade kit with fourth cymbal. Does this kit will work with three triggered cymbal from another manufacturer?
Great follow up. On a real drum kit it's obvious when you're hitting rather than playing an instrument. On a real kit the people you play with will let you know when you're too loud.
That thumbnail though
i like it. THe expansion-Kit just arrived today. I have some problems to connect it to my DAW, but maybe it's just a problem iwth the old USB-Cable. The new one also arrived today. I'll tet it tomorrow. For myself, i did not found a comfotable position for the sanre yet. Straight in front or to the left? I dont know. Thank you for your videos. It helped me for my decission to buy it and also to build it up.
Straight in front is easier n better for me. I get the snare droop too. Tightening it with a impact driver works haha
Can be used for gig purpose?
can i use my goxlr or my scarlett 3rd gen solo to record this kit? also what kind of wire should I need to connect it
Hey really love your channel ur videos are very helpful. I have a question though I'm not sure if you could help but I'm thinking of getting an e kit and I'm a beginner. I'm torn between getting the alesis nitro max or the millenium MPS-450. Ik there are mixed reviews about the alesis but it seems really good. Idk much about the millenium so I'm wondering if you could help and tell me which is the best to get . Thank you
get the nitro mesh instead. i love it. and i see less complains about it compared to max. I've had mine for 2 years now and everything is fine
Hey bro does your bluetooth have light? Mine doesn’t light up even if I am using the bluetooth already, is that normal? Or should I return the module kit?
Hi, is this Kick Pad compatible with the Tama Speed Cobra?
Hey! Great review! I'm thinking about buying this kit. Do you know if I can connect it to Ableton Live for recording? Thanks!
It does, just connect USB and choose the correct Midi in on that channel. Usually "All In" will work, just arm the track.
i have a question. there is a bell sound feature on the ride that im hitting by chance. though it doesnt say in the manual on how to trigger it. any knows about it ?
The bell sounds with some of the rides when you hit them hard, it's meant to do that. Not all the rides have this feature.
Hi, is it possible to tilt forward the snare and toms a little bit or are the connections rigid with no ability to tilt them forward like an acoustic set can? They look awkwardly flat . Thanks
Experienced drummer here: Yes, you SHOULD tilt the toms a little bit towards you on ALL drum kits. But not the snare. If you are willing to spend some extra I would recommend the Tama HS80PW Snare Stand.
6 months later still going strong.
Is there any backwards compatibility parts with the nitro mesh. As the snare would be a good upgrade size wize. I'm guessing the model is in no way compatible.
As owner of both kits, yes, they are forward and backwards compatible.
I'm thinking of adding the Alesis Nitro Max expanded to my collection, together with my Tama double bass pedal, Tama snare stand and Millenium E-hi hat, but however I am an EXTREMELY hard hitter. So I might have to learn to not hit hard?
Any tips on how to get it to work? I've had to return two because no sound comes out. Very frustrating.
Hi, did you resolve this? Please note the kit does not come with internal speakers, so an amplifier or headphones is required in order to hear the kit sounds.
Can you do a tutorial on how to set the best settings for the module? Like how do I activate the bell from the ride?
Thanks for the comment, this is on the to do list!
if you hit the ride hard enough it a activates the bell
Hate how the pedals move all over even with a rug. Had to buy velcro strips. And the snare arm sucks. Went and bought a snare stand the same day cause it kept getting loose.
I'm looking to add another kick for double bass.. which add on kick pedal would you recommend? Thank you
Tama iron cobra chain glide
I am determined to buy one these. Because of the enourmous tax and the economic crisis in my country this kit is worth 2 months of national minimum wage salary, so I want to do my research properly before I invest. I live in an apartmant building so the kit being quiet is very important to me. Do you think that this kit is quiter than most or got any tips so I can reduce the noise a bit ? Thank you.
There are a few videos where they demonstrate the sound without the module involved. The only problem I've ever heard is that the bass drum (kick) can cause a thumping that might be heard in the apartment below. Put a good layer of rubber-bottomed carpet under it, is the recommended solution.
What you think about the titan 50 vs this?
This is much better remember Titan is a Chinese brand. It's not a real musical brand and this one is a real musical brand. I would say there are on similar price, but I would pick this over titan and I used to own a titan and I will tell you this is way better.
My bass drum pedal moves all the time any suggestion of any hack to improve the grip to the ground? I have carpet
I have the same issue. Same with the high hat control.
The module is a major upgrade. The rack is weak and flimsy. Cymbals are sub-par. The new pads are great. Overall, a decent entry level e-kit.
Can we record audio from it
Easy.
My only issue so far is not being able to connect to BFD Player...
Bro, can we add one cymbal on this?
There's an expansion pack that adds an extra tom and an extra cymbal. They use the two extra inputs on the module.
Can this kit take a drummer up to Grade 8 level (or equivalent?)
After 3 days of using it, the bluetooth light won't turn on anymore 😂 I reported the issue through their support, but I was pointed out to go back where I bought the kit as they do not provide fix/support outside NORAM.😂
Can set up for left hand?
Yeah just move the hh and module to the other side and the floor tom to the left.
aww man, I just bought a second hand Nitro Mesh kit for $330 only to find out that I could've bought the Nitro Max new for a little under $500. Welp.
Dang am sorry man :(
You can always sell it for around the same price.
For the snare, just buy a cheap snare stand. $25. Furniture risers can "lift" the kit. Buy audio y-splitters to access the other triggers from the toms adding piezo transducers to whatever you want to hit. You can also add low-volume cymbals with piezo transducers. A low-cost Yamaha FP-7210A pedal is a good upgrade too. This kit can really be expanded.
Friends, someone has the problem that with headphones they sound very quiet. I tried 3 headphones and it sounds very quiet.
That's not right.
What did you do with that issue? Mine got it as well but idk if customer service is any good, also I don’t want to package the hole kit and return it just for the headphone jack
@@DianaGonzalez-wr2vp Take just the module back. That's not right.
I had the same problem, two days later I found I had been using the audio out sockets! the headphone socket is on the left side
Don't abuse the kit.....no problems.
I've been playing on the Nitro mesh kit and the Nitro mesh kit is way better than the max kit you cannot do Rim shots on the toms like you can on the Nitro mesh kit so I think the the max kit is terrible Alesis Nitro mesh kit is way better thank you
Mine fell apart absolute piece of garbage. my band is a nirvana cover band and this kit did not last long do notttt buy this kit if you are a heavy hitter or can't handle disappointment waste of money and the quality of the kit is awful
Bro it’s a small electric drum, why the hell would you hit it so hard especially in a frickin nirvana cover🤦
Why would you get electric drums for a nirvana cover band?
@@JayBruceWorld cheap
Need to learn how to play I guess. I bought this kit for practice and I play heavier stuff than nirvana. We're talking Exodus or slipknot. It holds up well for me. Ofc it's not anything like my Yamaha acoustic kit but setup time is where it's at. It takes me about an hour to tear down that kit and my van is packed full. Not with this kit.
