- Kayabuki no Sato is a small village in the Miyama countryside, outside of Kyoto, Japan. It's well known for its traditional thatched roof wooden houses and beautiful natural scenery. I wanted to walk through the village at dawn, so I camped alongside the Yura River and was up before the sunrise to enjoy the mountain atmosphere with a bit of fog and mist.
The village was so quiet, with just the sounds of frogs and insects over the rush of the river - or at least that was what I intended to capture. I tried a new microphone placement that picked up more walking noise than expected but it was such a beautiful scene so I hope that can be the focus. I appreciate your patience as the technical aspects are refined over time. All in all it was a great walk in a beautiful village, I hope you enjoy it as well.

Also sorry for the backpack noise in this one, I am still struggling with how best to record high quality audio while on the move. I love the thatched roofs, the wild flowers and the shadows of the mountains in the fog. What a beautiful neighborhood to visit! The view while crossing the bridge to the other side is spectacular and breathtaking, it makes you feel spiritual for a moment. Camping out by the Yura River the night before must be a nice experience. Great video, thank you.
Thank you : ) and yes the river at night was quite nice. There were fireflies, a bit of light rain, then the clouds left and the night sky was full of stars.

This Video was fabulous, kinda nostalgic but doesn’t exist in my life. Like a little Shirakawa-go but not crowded loving it. Walking from dusk that’s so peaceful
Ambient Exploration: Fabulous Dawn Walk at Kayabuki No Sato, in Miyama, Japan! The misty mountain-top fog shrouded village is the perfect setting for my 97 minute treadmill walk alongside you this morning! Yes, I lasted the entire video this time because of the wondrous sights you captured, and I kept telling myself, "You can do it!" I did notice more ads compared to your other videos and I hope they are sponsoring you. Don't be concerned about the ads because they didn't detract from the amazing footage you took. The village with its wild flowers lining the country roadways, the thatched roofs, waterways, and flooded rice fields were so beautiful to view. Just keep in mind to go half the speed when panning. The shot over the bridge with the river below was near perfect. Thank you for your time, cinematographic skill, and your great camera gear! Thank you, and glad you could extend your treadmill session. The village is quite beautiful and the area is quite beautiful also, so much so that I stayed the night and filmed a couple more walks. And thanks for your patience with the ads, I let CZcams take the wheel and it must have decided you were particularly ad-worthy this time. Lovely scenery!!! Are the wired fences connected to any source of electricity? I was wondering how come you didn't come across any barking dog or any waving person! Do you do these walks too early in the morning?
Thanks! Most if not all of the fences in this village are un-electrified, though some in other villages are. This village sees hundreds or sometimes thousands of tourists during the day so I wanted to avoid the crowds with an early start, I also was hoping for some fog or mist at that hour. I did cross paths with a man making an early morning milk delivery just before I started recording and he said hello. I also did a walk in the early evening when more people are out and about, I've got a few other videos in the queue but it'll be posted in a month or so if you're interested what the village is like at a slightly more active time of day.

Glad to hear it! There must be a lot of interesting places in the cities and nature to explore over there. Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever seen a Korean village, it would be very interesting to see some scenes from over there. Best of luck with your channel!

What is the machine at timestamp 15:20? It's a cylinder with spikes. It makes me think of something like processing wool or something,
I was wondering that myself. I think the tools on display around the town are primarily used for traditional rice harvesting and processing. There is a small museum in town, it would be interesting to go back when it's open and learn more.
