- This solo piano arrangement of Liszt's "Les préludes" was done by August Stradal (1860-1930). He was a virtuoso pianist who arranged all of Liszt's Symphonic Poems for solo piano. He even studied with Liszt for a short time. Risto-Matti Marin (b. 1976) is a Finnish pianist who has recorded all of Stradal's arrangements of Liszt's Symphonic Poems.
"Les préludes" is in these sections:
Question (Introduction and Andante maestoso) (bars 1-46)
Love (bars 47-108)
Storm (bars 109-181)
Bucolic (Pastoral) calm (bars 182-344)
Battle and victory (bars 345-420) (including recapitulation of 'Question', bar 405 ff.)

Oh wow. What am epic transcription! Liszt would have approved of that whole-heartedly! Thanks for the discovery! I see Stradal studied with Liszt. He really has Liszt's vocab in that arrangement. I wonder if Liszt heard it.
@@darkstudios001 actually transcription has nothing to do with what instrument, it just refers to the concept of bringing a piece to be performable on differentiating instruments
Just fantastic! Beautiful playing of a piece by a genius composer, Franz Liszt.!!
What a jewel i've met up with!! I appreciate Liszt!
Very nice transcription. Wonderfully performed. There is actually an official transcription by Liszt himself. Originally presented to Liszt by his student Klauser, Liszt took the score and completely rewrote it. He then allowed it to be published under the name of his student. The official catalogue has been updated to show that most of this work is by Liszt himself, and an excellent recording of it was made by Leslie Howard on Hyperion. This recording of it is also nice: czcams.com/video/vNMEJlpXemg/video.html
Nice!
Perfect transcription and a brilliant rendering. Really beautiful!
Beautiful ! Thank you for posting !
Wonderful.
Magnifique final !
OMG what a difficult piece played so well! Kudos!
Formidabile canale! Grazie di cuore per l’impegno nella divulgazione di tutti questi documenti.
Great!
Wonderful transcription! Almost as interesting as the orchestral version, with a bit of added fun for the listener for the virtuosic piano playing.
I really love the pianist! Wise pedalling and note pressure!!
Hmm, starts out similar to the Sonata in B minor, wonder if that was a coincidence.
🤯 AMAZING!!!
Gonna learn this
WOW!
Would you be so kind to upload any other Liszts poems for piano solo?
It may be a few months, but I do plan to create more videos of some of the Symphonic Poems for solo piano. Thank you for watching!

Where‘s the Wochenschau Part?
the piece Hitler listened to while ordering the invasion of Russia
Более того, финал "Прелюдий" использовался в заставке Die Deutsche Wochenschau
Haha, just like b sonata
I wish Marin would not take as many liberties with the text.
