Lovely news: My Beit Din was last week, Feb. 9 and I was allowed and welcomed into Judaism (three for three judges!). Then on Feb. 12 I had during the service to say the Shema and answer questions. Thank-you for all your assistance Marion. I have been taking notes for two years from your channel and your name came up during my Conversion classes. I'll continue to watch and grow from your videos. Shalom!

I just wanted to say thank you for making these videos. I saw a video of yours about covid or vaccines around a year a go I think, and the things you and the Rabbi said in the video stuck with me like glue. I was born into a Christian (mom)/Catholic (dad) house hold and I struggled feeling whole in my religious beliefs my entire life. I slowly mulled over and thought about Judaism for a while just looking at the way holidays work, values, and even just day to day life content. I've been thinking about finally reaching out to a Rabbi locally for a while, but I didn't want to feel like I was stepping on any ones toes or doing it disrespectfully. I am looking into contacting a Rabbi, and signing up for a learning course now! You both answered every question I had (even ones I didn't know I had) and came off so kind, and caring. Once again thank you for all of the videos you've mad on this topic, and others!

Though I successfully completed it, I am not yet ready for conversion, though technically I could already have gone to the mikvah and beit din. that was so awesome to watch, to have real insight into the conversion process. ive been giving it alot of thought lately as i lead an empty life and want to be part of something greater than who i am. we have a few synagogues in the area but its the initial contact that scares me and the other concern, being 56, am i too old to change my life this way - its the old, ,'you cant teach a dog new tricks' thing. ive felt this calling to convert, cant say why but its been there for some time and its with me every day. i dont want to speak ill of my religious past buts its left me feeling empty and subjugated and hasnt brought me the happiness i want in life. sorry to dump this here on this platform but i need a little guidance here and can take it from there, i know its within me to follow thru.

I would recommend contacting American Jewish University and they should be able to direct you. The classes are very informative and interesting and absolutely no pressure. My family has always had a diffrent religion and aspects from my other family members. My uncle is catholic and my aunt is Christian, my mom and dad are also Christian but my grandma is testigo de jehova. My family has always been a multi-religious house hold but I never really fit in, I was never really intrigued or influenced by any of this religions. Then I found out about Judaism by my world history teacher. Listening and reading about this religion really intrigued me and I want to covert. The idea of having a family w a huge community and guidance is a very fascinating thing to have which I don't wanna be a hipocrit or criticize in any way or form, but Christianity never really offered me that. I was just wondering if converting to Judaism would be the right thing to do, I know it's gonna take years and commitment to covert and I know I need to learn and practice a lot of things and I'm ready for that but I just want to have some feedback from someone if this is the right thing to do. If I'm just too young and curious and don't know what I'm doing or if I need to give Christianity another chance or I'm doing the right thing in converting or if I'm being a fake and disrespecting Judaism ( if I am I apologize and it's not my intention at all)or if I'm just being dumb and foolish. I'm at a lost here, I just wanna have a community where I feel welcomed and cherished, where I feel happy and loved, where I can have a guidance and a community I can trust in, somewhere where I feel I Belong and know that my sons will be guided and influenced in the right way, that's all I want. I feel Christianity doesn't offer me that and never really introduced me into that concept but learning Judaism and seeing the community they have, opened my eyes and can just Imagine myself in that community and it just feels right. I just want some advice if this is the right thing and if it is what's the steps into converting and if not then what is the right thing for me to do.

I've been wishing to convert for 27 years- since I read Number the Stars when I was 10, but I've been afraid to because of the part I've heard about being turned away three times. Also I was raised Catholic and my parents might stroke out if I told them I wasn't Catholic anymore even though I haven't practiced in well over a decade. This helped me know where to begin but I'm still worried. I have a 3 year old circumcised son and I read that for their conversion when a son has been circumcized some blood has to be drawn from "there". I don't think he's at an appropriate age for that, I worry that it could sexually traumatize him. Can anyone speak on that?

Great question! By the traditional definition, a person's Jewish identity is based on the Jewish status of the mother at the time of birth. So, if a woman converted while she was pregnant, her child would be born Jewish. However, if she converted after giving birth, the child would need to be converted as well. Taking a baby or a child to the Mikveh for conversion is easy - and usually lots of fun. If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out: intro@aju.edu

I can hear Rabbi Greenwald much better than I can hear you, but I'll stick with it. I'm sort of surprised that people still refer to Orthodox Jewry as a single denomination and fail to mention Reconstructionist Judaism. So good to know that the Miller course is online now. How wonderful that many thought to ask if one is obligated to continually separate oneself out somehow by saying you are a convert. It makes life too complicated unnecessarily and can be perceived wrongly. However, it is good within one's family, synagogue, neighborhood if you can let people know you need help at certain holidays or on certain occasions with doing things appropriately because you are relatively new to the religious pieties and folkways. I suspect young teens are just too young to convert, but they can study, learn, prepare. Perhaps by the time they have been graduated from college and are no longer biologically still in their adolescence then they would be ready to complete the conversion process. I so agree with what Rabbi Greenwald said about spouses. It is so important for the born Jewish partner to realize that the convert must do things to immerse themselves in Jewish religion and folkways on a level that the born Jew need not or would not want to, because that partner may have been reared in a quite secular home that tried to let those pieties and traditions fall by the wayside. But, it is true, as with all religion, that synagogues are fuller on high holy days than they are on an average Friday night or Saturday morning. I would suggest that as the rabbi stated there is the component of living a Jewish life that is how one deepens one's sense of being Jewish. Sharing one's life with one's fellow congregants and one's spouse's family also deepens those feelings. Another way I would put it is that when I was learning a foreign language, I was good at it and understood the basics of language skills and so on. However, there was a final piece of the puzzle that fell into place without my taking notice of it immediately when it happened. There comes a point as a speaker of another tongue when you are no longer translating everything quickly in your head. You are finally thinking French. You are not translating back and forth. And one day you will even know only the French word or expression for something and not your native tongue's counterpart. It could take months or even a year before you realize quite suddenly one day that you are no longer translating into French, you are thinking in French. Some conversion, translation has happened inside of you. It is exciting and sobering and something to be handled with care, because as with all joys it, too, can bring a kind of pain or sadness or grieving that had not occurred before as you rejoice. We are not sorry to join with our new love in marriage, but we relinquish our girl life. Conversion of life in any sense is always a process with it's rituals and markers, but in a sort of slow motion. This is hard in another sense because often the conversion in the heart was fast. This was such a truly warm, embracing, stimulating, wonderful presentation from both of you.

I was adopted to a Christian family and my biological family did not disclose that my 4th 5th 6th and 7th generation Grandparents were actually Ashkenazi Jewish😢. We only recently discovered this after getting into contact with our half-brothers and sisters and biological sisters and brothers who wanted to reconnect just to solve the mystery of our heritage and ancestry roots. And sadly another shameful act brought into light kept hidden was our Jewish Heritage that my brother and I had.
A very important connection was finally restored of our Jewish Heritage though we are asuktw now. We never truly felt a connection to the adoptive family in terms of holidays and ethnicity celebrating culture heritage from their ancestors because we knweknew they weren't our own, we were diffrent, looked diffrent and felt out of place. It was really upsetting and it was very disheartening to hear that our grandparents and parents who we are biological from knew but never disclosed our Ashkenazi Jewish heritage.
We feel closed off from our Jewish faith as we are older, and I personally have tried to make amends in starting to learn my ancestries faith and want to emerse and acknowledge it, become a part of it.
    now we're trying to learn
To take back a part of ourselves that part of our identity that was lost to us because our biological parents family knew it, but never wanted to disclose it before adoption to a Christianfamily and well 40 years later I'm desperately trying to restore that connection to my heritage.
I want to know, I live in U.S and my adoptive parents have Jewish friends, and I don't want to sound intrusive to them but looking to learn more and come to my jewish faith. Thanks for talking about this.

Isi Hosena I want you to ask Rabbi Tovia Singer who has a weekly call-in show every Sunday: 9:00am to 11:00am/855-95-BIBLE on the TeNaK Talk CZcams channel and ask him any questions that you may have about Judaism and he will answer your questions live on air.

This is really for Americans to convert to Judaism, sex & city episode I don’t watch never have, talks about American university Judaism, converting from catholic to Judaism it’s only for Americans I need a channel for Anglican Protestant (converting from Church Of England to Judaism) what a British christian needs to do & learn, what a British person needs to study, how a British christian can reach out to a Rabbi, where to reach out if you live in England, how to reach out if your in England, what a British Jewish lifestyle will be, where to go in England, starting from very very basics if your English christian, remember where I am from in North East UK there are not many Jewish as it’s all Anglican, Apostolic Church of England Christian, so I need to know, places & Rabi’s in North East UK, not American courses & school, you really need to start talking & helping British not just only Americans as I am very serious about converting to Judaism, I don’t drink, I don’t smoke but I vape, what channels I should watch to understand Orthodox Judaism in Britain, nothing for UK Citizens which is becoming typical on CZcams, remember where I live we never see Jewish, in America you do. I am extremely serious about converting to Judaism but American aimed videos & channels don’t help a lot. I am wanting to do it because my mind, body heart & soul is telling me loudly that Judaism was right all along

The Philippines is fifteen hours later than Pacific time, not earlier. Conservative conversion is rejected by the Orthodox and the State of Israel. Reason: the training and practice of Conservative Judaism is deemed woefully insufficient.

The State of Israel does accept Conservative and Reform conversions from the USCJ and URJ affiliated member synagogues. I checked recently with Nefesh B’Nefesh and the Jewish Agency.

How can you convert to a nationality 🤔. Numbers 1:18
[18]And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.

And some of jews saying no one must be a jew because , you don't need to be a Jew to communicate with God. Is it a lie to cover something or many branches of Judaism really beleives that? It's like Sikhism?
