    I love her natural sounding tone on this album, doesn’t sound like there’s been any pitching at all! I’m also pretty sure I’ve heard A2s on Giving Me Life and G2s on another one (can’t remember off the top of my head) but I think they sound like her! Her lows are gorgeous 😍

      Anything above E5 with Mariah will sound pitched up because her mixing is very heady up there now! And her tone is brighter ( just listen to her accapela moments you’ll see she sounds autotuned because she got perfect pitch and her tone is girly

    I'm happy that she's explored her lows a lot more this time, instead of focusing so much on the belting zone. We all know her for screaming from the top of her lungs so it feels invigorating to hear something like this in late 2018.

    Reserved vocals. First album she’s never sung higher than E5 😳. And I don’t think I hear anything above A6, which means first MC album under four octaves 😨.

    I’m honestly ok with this... Mariah still served us with AMAZING vocals! Also I love how Mariah combines 90s and 00s vibes in this album and still makes it sound so timeless! And.. THE SOUND OF THE WHOLE ALBUM IS SO UNIQUE FROM ALL OTHER ALBUMS TODAY! Sure the beat may be current, but because of how Mariah plays with it, she makes it sound so timeless and very refreshing. And don’t forget those BACKGROUND VOCALS! IT’S AMAZING! Sure Mariah only hit an A6 here but please... We all know Mariah can still hit those 7 octave notes and she could still control it so effortlessly.

    I love the album. I'm grateful and appreciate every song she does. Her range as of now from what I have seen is A2 to A7 still 5 octaves I'm sure she has more to her but is doing what is comfortable for her voice. After all she is almost 50 and still is killin it. Love the queen.

    • @mangacie

      Flageolet is extended of Head voice, that technique is often use by Opera singers and Yma sumac was also used it on her singing.
      For ex: in the part B5 she doesn't sound like head voice, falsetto or whistle.
      And in the part Whistle range: watch the C6 and D6 notes, those notes are sounded the same with B5 note.

      +Ive Mc Fallen Just an information, our registers are transfer to the Instrument for ex: Whistle to Electric Guitar or Violin.
      For Head voice is transfer to Flute.
      Flageolet is transfer to Flageolet instrument.
      Flageolet is an instrument on the Flute Family. But Flageolet sounds more Thick than Flute.

      Muffin Muffin technically she used her Whistles to harmonize in the song... there are undeniably WHISTLES there aside from the last part...the only thing is what note did she hits... there are whistles that are similar to her former albums... there are parts that she executes her melismatic and her signature 3 whistle tone in one shot... just like her “I wish you knew - C7”. And also a type of Whistle that is similar to “angels cry prelude - A6-B6-C7-C#7”.. but she changed her style on how she does it, which makes it more noticeable and that is why that whistle note separates itself from her former whistle registers... it takes guts to be a lamb because if you are truly one of the lambs you have this ability or gift to identify her whistles individually and corporately... 8th Grade is perfect!

      @Morgan Anexi still a soprano. Her voice is aging.
      Muscular atrophy

    • @kijanayoung2000
      @kijanayoung2000 Před 5 lety +3

      @Morgan Anexi nope. Cannot.
      Vocal type is influenced by vocal weight, timbre and tessitura.
      Her vocal weight timbre and tessitura still are very much in the Soprano range.
      It's just that her voice has aged and gotten damaged

    • @carlosabieltorres4591
      @carlosabieltorres4591 Před 5 lety

      I'm agree with Morgan Anexi

    • @kijanayoung2000
      @kijanayoung2000 Před 5 lety

      @Morgan Anexi
      1. No matter how a voice gets damaged it never changes VOICE TYPE. It only changes VOICE FACH.
      Voice type is influenced by the length of the cords not the thickness of the cords.
      By saying Mariah's voice has changed types is to say her cords LENGTHENED. And that is a lie because they haven't lengthened at all.
      Lengthening of the cords happens under an action of testosterone. And Mariah doesn't produce enough testosterone to cause this.
      What Mariah has undergone is THICKENING of the vocal folds. THICKENING IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CHANGE OF VOICE FACH, NOT TYPE.
      Thickening affects factors such as tessitura, weight and agility.
      As one ages your cords thicken, that is why someone can shift from a light lyric soprano to a full lyric soprano or even to a Spinto Soprano or Dramatic Soprano.
      BUT NEVER TO A MEZZO SOPRANO!!
      Mariah's voice underwent two things:
      -Vocal damage due to nodules
      -Vocal thickening due to age.
      You cannot claim she is a mezzo because:
      1. Her timbre is still a soprano timbre.
      2. Her passagio is still Soprano passagio. Even with a damaged voice you can hear her shift gears at Eb4 and F#5.
      The reason she isn't fully in the Soprano tessitura as she should be is because of the vocal damage she has experienced due to having nodules and a crazy schedule of work with minimal rest.
      If you doubt me please research but I am telling you that from a vocal pedagogy point of view, MARIAH CAREY IS A SOPRANO AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN AND WILL ALWAYS BE.
