This song....takes me back to when things were simpler and weird. When things were romantic and intriguing. When you didn't have to provide a fingerprint to leave a comment. A good place. And a good song.
1981 was so long ago but for the human league, this was their best album ever nothing else topped it as for their catalogue of albums including Crash and romantic, DARE was the one that did it, realy fabulous...
Wow! To want a Human League album when you're only 6 or 7 is almost mind-blowing! Kids of that age are usually into novelty acts, then they look back on it when they are adults and laugh about their innocent reasons... But you can look back at this album and know that your taste was very grown-up for such a young child 😊
Takes me back....to a time that was somehow more magical and primordial..an age of spiritual giants and people whose eyes were wide w wonder asking profound questions about life....who acknowledged one another's existence as human beings...a time when Republicans were republicans and not fascists.....dems were dems and not communists..when music was always on the cutting edge and not regurgitations and repetitions of what's already been beat to death and homo sapiens still had a shot at avoiding total extinction. But as w every age in history for the last 100,000 years the greedy and the stupid shouted all the rest of us down because we were outnumbered 10,000 to one and outspent about a billion to one and that's how we got to where we are today.
Day 5801. All my urine til 1.30pm then dried figs and 2 white nectarines and a few cherries then more urine then fresh fruit and vegeatables and other foods at 7.00pm. No change.
You do know that this song is about when President Kennedy was assassinated in 1963? As for the eighties, yeah good times for me, but also Margaret Thatcher and the Falklands a war that should never have happened. She also traded with America to store nuclear bombs in Britain. The Toxteth Riots. They said it was the community was fed up with lack of opportunities. It wasn't that at all, it was the black community fed up with being picked on by the police. They were spot searched on the streets, because it was (and still is) the opinion of Merseyside Police that all black people are criminals, drug dealers, etc. It was a rotten world yesterday, it's a rotten world today and it will be a rotten world tomorrow, whatever decade or century... Life is what you make it. Authorities, monarchy, government or whatever do not rule my thoughts. I just live to be one of the kinder understanding people of the world. Leave the above mentioned to their stupid demented and bigoted world!
@@robotstobor3388 you are referring to RW Emerson's Hymn whereas in this case the song is about JFK assassination in fact in their live shows the HL have slides of it projected in the background when they perform this piece.

"You're not as wise as your fingers curl"
Your knuckles white as your fingers curl.
The wrong ones get shot
The right ones are . . . ?
Sadly MLK and Not Sharpton or Bama

Serial rapists

JFK - his head goes back and to the left - the greatest conspiracy of the industrial age.

I understood "the shot that was heard around the world" referred to the battle of Lexington

The Black community should hear your words.. but they haven’t listened. Too late.
