I have this., but it is due to a severe childhood injury that took over 3 years of recovery time. ...the right side of my body ,and that leg is shorter, and my foot is very slightly larger( length) than the left . Thank you for addressing this, since I'm sure more people have this than is actually known.
You're welcome. Yes, it is fairly common and most people don't notice it unless someone else points it out.
@@More4Life ....so kind of you to Reply, thank you. Blessings ~
Very interesting to learn about leg length descrepancy. I don't have but good to know about it.
Excelent video!!! Thank you. I am going to do these excersices.
You're welcome
One of my leg is jerked up. I do I fix this because it's dropped my hip.
I have been dealing with leg discrepancies for years. Mine were caused by DROPPED FOOT and LEG spasticity. Also when you use different foot braces, they can raise your foot. Thanks for the info..
You're welcome. You raise good points about the braces. Same thing happens with a walking boot from a foot fracture or surgey.
I have the same problem
The diffrent more than 5 cm between the legs
That's quite a lot!
I have an SI joint problem in my right leg(longer leg). While standing I feel more pressure on the right leg heel and I clearly feel more pressure on the right SI joint while standing.
I think the exercises that you are suggesting can help me and I did it just now and feel some pressure balance on the legs.
How long should I do these exercises to expect good result and potentially getting rid of the SI joint problem?
(I'm currently using an SI belt for pain reduction)
That depends on if your right leg is ACTUALLY longer structurally or not. If it's actually longer, you'd probably need to wear a lift in the left shoe, otherwise the SI joint issue will keep coming back. It's like driving a car with an uneven set of tires.
@@More4Life I am 22 years old, and got this issue about couple of weeks before. I don't think structurally my right leg is longer than the left.
@@More4Life The exercises that that suggested by you have good effect. How often a day and how many days should I do these?
After total knee replacement my legs feel different lengths. Dr says no my walking says yes.
That's rather common. It can be that the bones are different lengths, or it could be that your body had accommodated to the leg length discrepancy from lost joint space before surgery and now it feels weird to have legs that are even. Or if you haven't gained back full knee extension on the surgical side, that one can feel shorter.
@@More4Life Thank you so much for this extensive answer. I know how my body feels!!
Hello Doc ,mine I have a left leg which is swollen after giving birth. What can I do for it to go back to normal
That's something that you'd need to see your doctor about to determine the cause of the swelling as the treatment will be different depending on what is causing it.
with a significant shorter leg which muscle group around the hip get overworked and on which side? the opposite of the shorter leg or the same side
The hip abductors on the short side tend to get overworked, as does the quadratus lumborum on the long side. The hip abductors on the long side are lengthened and often weak. That's a gross generalization, but that's the most common pattern.
@@More4Life Thak you . May I ask you another question/
Let say if your left hamstring gets tight does the pelvic or hip on the left tilts or is pulled up or down?
I’m 8 months post hip replacement & mine is now anatomically approximately half inch maybe lil more….its making my low back hurt bad, even have sciatica now. Should I resort to getting this accurately measured by a EOS scan & using custom orthotics ?
It usually doesn't take a high tech measure. A tape measure from the ASIS on the pelvis to the medial malleolus on the inside of the ankle usually gets close enough. Then wearing an appropriately sized heel lift (on the short side) or orthotic to make up the difference works for most.
