Seriously one of the best channels on CZcams. You are an incredible instructor and I can not thank you enough for the information that you share with all of us.
We need people like Jody covering every aspect of every trade....perfect tone of voice, pace, etc....if we could get it on every topic ...would be actual respect for the resource youtube is.
You sir are the Niel Peart of TIG welding. I relentlessly study your videos and instructions several times a week in an effort to improve my skill level. I hold you in the highest regard and honestly, the only reason I’m able to TIG weld at all is because of the knowledge and skill you share with all of us interested in broadening our own talents. Thank you so much!!! Keep them coming
Hi Jody. I just wanted to stop and say thank you. I'm 55. i welded a lot in my teens Gas and Stick. a few years back i had need of a mig welder so i bit the bullet and bought a unit. Never had a lot of luck but i kept it. Needed to pick it up again and i found your channel. your videos are incredible well laid out and thoughtful. The camera work is second to none. Encouraged me enough to get e TIG welder now too. Again, your videos are making the difference. I am trying to get the majority of my consumables from you to support your channel. Thank you again.
And yet another great video! I can’t thank you enough Jody! You taught me how to weld and have inspired me to become a welder 4 years ago! I still look back at your older videos and pickup new things every time I watch your videos. Thank you!
Love the look of the walking the cup welds! I’m just learning how to tig weld and can only dream about being able to make welds like you can! Very cool and thanks for the information you put into these videos, they sure do help a guy who is just trying to learn another method of sticking different metals together! Definitely is a true art form.
Beautiful colors on that weave at 22:00. And then the weaves later are art. The close up arc shots are top notch. Love seeing the molten puddle and actual have day dreams about welding.
Jodi...Your videos are some of the best and most informative videos on youtube....you make welding look easy....its obvious from your narratives that your an expert in this field.
This is hands down the best welding channel on CZcams. Jody, your knowledge and tips have helped me greatly as I continue through welding school. Thank you for your dedication to putting out a quality video every time!
At 16:46 on the video it brought back memories as with the backing strip with Argon gas feed people really did struggle to tell which side did I weld it from. As always Jody love watching your videos and bringing back some great memories in my time welding. Keep up the great work from the UK....
Wow! We really covered a lot of ground, today! I think this is one episode I can watch several times, and get students to watch it, too. I've really got to get some fixtures made!
Thank you for the great quality videos as always. Could you perhaps do a video on the techniques you use to hold such a tight arc? Do you prop on something? Drag a finger? Thanks.

Hey Jody; Tom Fraser I have been a subscriber of your for many years now. I really appreciate all of the things you do for the welding public. I have a question; I have been a welder for the past 61 years. About 3 years ago I had a stroke. This disabled my filler rod hand for Tig welding. What is your thought on using a CK Worldwide WF-5? I love Tig welding. Could you do a segment on using one of these units for the handicap? Thanks Jody.
Tungsten sharpening affects the TIG learning curve just like grinding improves the stick welding learning curve. Haha! Getting addicted to these great, informative, videos
I have a suggestion for a welding video. You always advocate cleaner is better (i agree completely) i'm curious if you can demonstrate whether there is a difference based on surface finish. Welding course ground or band saw cut pieces vs, filed or sanded smooth pieces? Does polishing or smoothing the surface finish improve weld quality? Does it hurt quality? Will my welds improve if i use a 240 grit flap disk or is a 30 grit better? I would be curious to see the effects on steel, stainless, and aluminum.
flap disc...be careful you don't introduce bits of abrasive into the aluminum....Walter and a couple others make abrasive wheels/discs just for aluminum...
Love the T shirt! I listened to the podcast today where you talked about adding value. Thank you for sharing, I find your shared wisdom very valuable! Welding helped me reset. Cheers!
Great video from my favorite CZcams channel! I swear arc length is the bane of my TIG efforts, largely because I cannot freakin see. Once I get the helmet on and start the arc, I lose all depth perception and cannot tell if the arc is 1/32" or 1/4". I normally have good vision, so I don't know why I have such problems with this.
Hey mate , i used to have trouble seeing the puddle clearly then thanks to Jody and one of his videos i tried a couple of cheater lenses for my hood and man what a difference . I now can see every thing. Hope this helps , Cheers
Another product from your store should be little weld projects of different metals. (Thats if you haven't created those yet) love the tutorials. Yes i learned to tig by watching you.
Once a beginner figures out that, "you have to get closer"... "no, I mean even closer"... "no, i mean closer than that!" "I mean almost touching" ... they finally get that Ah Ha... ask me how i know!
yes but mostly after several "darn -- closer, cloooser" "ok, now you dipped it, that was tooo close, use smthg between touching and standing on a ladder" :) i think i lost most of my tungsten by "clipping and grinding" lol.

You have the best TIG channel on the web; love those crisp arc shots with the poor-vs-good technique examples. I've been looking for that copper spoon at Harbor Fright for a couple years now with no success. I kinda think they might have dropped it due to slow sales. Hey man! Your teachings in welding are very good. How nice it would be if you had Spanish subtitles. A hug and keep it up with such good teaching. I have a question ...
