    Many thanks Justin. A great video, and one I will be referring folks to, who ask me how they can initially set up Obsidian. Thanks also for not having your face in a frame that overlaps your computer screen capture; something I can find distracting.
    The pace and sincerely presented content made this one of your best videos for me. I hope it gets widely shared moving forward as more and more folks are discovering Obsidian and want a simple-but-comprehensive initial setup, that actually works, presented by someone with working experience, and who has tried many of the bells and whistles that entice us so often.
    I'll check back in with your content more often. Thank you.

    Thank you for this, VERY helpful! I completely agree with your point that your brain makes the connections, not an app. IMO the space between the source material we work from and the product we deliver is our space for creativity, and the more original we can be in producing something new, the more valuable our work.

      I'm a big believer in the idea that tech is just a tool in the toolbox. Sometimes we put way too much onus on software to do the work for us.

    first, I work with a dark theme

      I do too generally, but light themes render better on videos so I stick with that for recording :)

    My only issue with this software is not integration with Zapier or Integromat.

    One last thing] how can I link a block in one article to another article? In fact, how can I get obsidian to tell me about potential blocks rather than having to use my own brain to remember?

    • @EffectiveCo
      @EffectiveCo  Před rokem

      Good question - the best I can offer is using the block reference global search `[[^^` i believe and search keywords.

    - Why don't you use the auto note mover plugin?
    - re obsidian publish, you can add to your templates a yaml field publish: false or true for note types that are never (private) / always going to be published online. Thus, in this way it's never confusing with private VS public notes syncing online.

    • @EffectiveCo

      1. It’s not always evident when I’m ready to move a note. Often notes stay in the inbox until they’re “done”
      2. I’m aware that’s an option, but I found this mental block with writing in my vault - “what if this accidentally gets published?” - that made writing in my vault just a little less valuable in the long run. That’s why I quit publishing it.
