Motorbiking the Khardung-La mountain pass in the Indian Himalayas was definitely the craziest and the most difficult motorbike trip of my entire life as we got into a terrible snow-storm at the top of the pass and riding every meter became an incredibly difficult thing to do.
However, experiences like this are one of the main reasons I love traveling so much and honestly I couldn't be happier about how this trip turned out. Life's short, there's no time to waste doing the easy thing, hey! Haha :)

In 1986 when I was young, I traveled Sringar-Leh by road which took two days with a night halt at Kargil. The journey was awesome - out of the world experience. I slept two days in Leh with headache before even going around Leh. But I've never been above 13500 ft which was Fotu La (Pass). I've also gone up to Rohtang Pass above Manali twice in my life. It's about 13000 ft. The way to the pass was covered with huge ice walls and also fresh snow. It was snowing while on way to Rohtang Pass. That was the first time I saw what it means to be really snowing.

That was pretty crazy alright, great video! Four years ago I was hanging out in Manali waiting for the pass to open so I could do the bus journey to Leh. But the pass wasn't opening up. This was in April so there was still a lot of snow. Finally someone told me about the pass over the mountains from Kashmir, which was a shorter pass and would open up earlier. So I went by bus over there, but that pass still wasn't open. I had to wait in Kashmir for a week and finally the pass was open and I got over it and made it to Leh. Even after staying 10 days in Leh the pass to Manali still hadn't opened up, so I ended up taking a flight back to Delhi. It was still an awesome adventure though.

At the end, you say it's going to be a vivid memory, even 10 years from now. Well it's 20 years this month since I did that trip and I think about it every day.
Happy for you man.
And I thought NZ was beautiful
Himalayas are first HUGE especially India having most of it divided into different states combining they are as big as Switzerland, Austria and Bavarian Alps together.
Second, there are lower, middle and higher Himalayas where higher are always experiencing a below 0°C temperature no matter when you go ,the middle is much more lush and has alpine forests with temperature around 13°C to 2°C during summers and -25°C to -12°C during the winter and then there is the lower Himalayas where you see summers that are pleasantly warm like around 19°C on peak and winters around -8°C on an average, lush valleys too.
NZ is beautiful and so is India.
well couldnt NZ and INDIA both be beautiful

Beautiful Depiction of your trip. It just Oozes Craziness and Excitement. Cheers !!!
Wow. Incredible bike trip. What a journey!!!! Couldn’t blink in entire video whereas I change channel in 5 mins in other vlogs. I had tears in my eyes when u made it back safe. So true when you said how it was worth it in your life especially from looking back 5-10-15 years and storytelling to other. Even video 5 years old, felt every emotion with you from riding to falling slippery road. Great adventure. Thank you for sharing with us.
