I really hope the information in this video is helpful!! I’m not a youtube tips channel so I wanted to pack everything I know into one video. I’ll be back next week with my normal vlog-style content🫶🏼🫶🏼 P.S. so sorry about the sun setting towards the end. If you have any suggestions for lighting for filming I’d love any recommendations! 💗💗
Great tips! I would also like to stress being consistent. As a growing channel, once you take a break ( because life happens) it’s such a challenge to get your views back😅but like you said we’re in it for the long game so remaining consistent pays off in the end.
You are really great at talking about CZcams tips and advice, please do more of these. I like your teaching style and you have talked about examples that other CZcams tip channels haven’t. Thank you
Thank you so much!! You are so kind. I may talk about behind the scenes of youtube in some of my daily life vlogs, but as of right now I don’t plan on making any more videos dedicated to youtube tips/advice. The biggest tip I’ve learned is that it’s super important to stay within your niche. I noticed that because I posted the youtube paycheck video for example, I got a lot of subscribers from it but those subscribers don’t want to watch my other vlogs and usual content which ultimately hurts my engagement rate. So I’m planning to stick to my lifestyle & wellness niche for now. I hope this makes sense 💗💗 also here to answer questions in the comments though!!
@@rebekahjoy That’s a great idea putting little CZcams favorites, tips & advice, apps, equipment in your niche content your vlogs that you enjoy and are passionate about doing. I think that’s such a great idea and then when you do. Just put something about CZcams tips in your thumbnail that it’s a vlogs to and I think that you’ll cater to the mass subscribers that subscribe from your CZcams tip content and your Vlog content and then that’ll also get people that subscribe from the CZcams tips to fall in love with you as a person and then they want to watch your Vlogs, and get to know you as a person Thank you for responding I appreciate it :)
This was so cute and informative. I’m definitely going to utilize your tips. I haven’t done any brand deals yet and I want to start pitching, so thanks a lot.
Excellent video, Rebekah. Great tips. Will use. What a journey, eh? Who knew? Anyway, I’m loving doing the hard work and I appreciate how much hard work you did putting this video together. All the very best and thank you.
this is great ❤❤ ive just invested in my first ever vlogging camera! (sony zv1) and the quality difference is sooo worth it, been doing this nearly a year and stuck on 750 subs atm, hopefully this willboost my channel over the next couple months, keep doing what your doing 💘💘
You got this!!! Definitely stick with it if you love it and don’t be afraid to try new things if you aren’t seeing growth (like new thumbnail style, angles, topics, etc)! Rooting for you💗
really great video Rebekah, it was very informative. Keep up the good work, I really like your style of videos. I think your content is relatable and refreshing x
My take is that seo/description is more important than tags! Since CZcams is owned by Google, I think that CZcams is indexing videos by keywords in the transcript and the description vs just looking at tags!! But that might be skewed by my blogger background LOL
I love your vlogs but this is super helpful ❤ Also, it'd be nice if you can keep at least one video per month related to CZcams and tips. Topics that i find interesting to watch as an aspiring CZcamsr are : how much i made this month, things i wish i knew before i started etc. 😊
Thank you so much for watching my vlogs and I’m so glad this video is helpful!! Honestly I really want to stick to my usual lifestyle content. I’ve found it’s better to keep my niche smaller like that rather than gaining a split audience of people who want to watch youtube tips vs watch vlogs. So I kinda just brain dumped a ton of info into this one video🤍 however i do have a video out from a few months ago about how much i’ve made on youtube (and I may film another one of those in the future!) 💗
I found this video so incredibly helpful, so thank you! I took the plunge to start a channel and it’s been difficult to figure out how to reach an audience/grow
Great video!!!! 22:19 how do you have enough storage for all those videos? When do you decide to delete the footage to make room for more or do you externally file them somewhere. This is such an issue for me I can only have like 2 videos at a time
Thank you!! And I edit and download everything on a 2TB external hard drive! That way my computer doesn’t run out of storage. Editing on an external hard drive is a life saver!!!
This is so helpful as a newer CZcamsr! A lot of these types of videos are usually for channels that are more educational and not lifestyle related, so these tips are amazing! This encouraged me to keep going 😊💫
This video was so helpful and timely! I recently discovered your channel and love your videos - I've been watching CZcams for years and have always thought about making my own videos, and I just uploaded my first one yesterday. Editing took me a loooong time too, but it's also pretty fun and enjoyable!
Ahh congrats on starting your channel!!! That’s definitely the hardest part. I’m so glad this video was helpful🤍🤍 and I definitely feel you on the editing… I wish I could say it gets faster but for me thats not the case 😅🤣
Hi Rebekah, glad to see you back! Me and my best friend enjoyed watching your vlog together! We have enjoyed your channel since we first discovered it!
#newsubscriber [forthevlogs😁] Rewatching! MAJOR tip! ❤But I’m a reformed Virgo who has cured herself of Perfectionism because if you’re infected with the P, rewatching will probably be super stressful Um, Rebekah, this is the first time you entered my feed and I’m happy. This video was refreshing for a 5mo old vlogger such as myself. &TYSM for being realistic about the time commitment. (not the end of the world if you miss an upload ☺️) &🎉 for being realistic about your beginner journey (50-vid rule) Btw, while you’re editing, do you ever leave markers on your timeline with notes during your phases of editing? 15-20 hours is actually normal I think. But I’m guessing you do that over the course of a few days, yes? And when brands gift you a product (which is separate from brand deals I imagine), do they expect you to mention them within a certain time frame and do they ask you to send them the video to before or after you post it? How did you know that you should have a contract before working with brand deals? I mean, are you part of a community where you are being educated on how to be a good vlogger lol
Hi!! I'm so honored you're choosing to stick around. So sorry my late response! As for leaving markers on the timeline while editing, I do sometimes! It can be helpful if I need to go back to a certain point to add something. I typically use them for where I want to add text or a transition. And yes, it's typically 15-20 hours of editing per video total (typically spread out over 3-4 days). Some brands will have specific requirements with gifted collabs. I did some of those at the beginning but I pretty quickly started telling brands I will accept gifted items with no requirements attached. If I like the product, I will mention it in a video but it won't be a structured collaboration meaning I won't send the video for approval and I can include it in a video as I please. (If they want that structure, then I will share my rates and discuss a potential paid collaboration.) There are always exceptions though - for instance if I reallyyy love the product and brand and think the deliverables are fair, then I will agree to do an unpaid collab. As for having a contract, I've just watched a lot of CZcams related videos about brand deals, growing on CZcams, etc. And from talking to other CZcamsrs it is pretty standard to receive a contract. Personally, I just feel safer and more protected. But it's super important to read through the contract and make sure you agree with all the terms. I've had some contracts include things that I don't want in there - I just let the brand know and most of them are pretty good at changing some things as necessary. It's a lot of trial and error honestly, I'm learning as I go :)
@@rebekahjoy sanks for such a dedicated response! Omg, I get one or two comments on my videos and it’s a commitment to make sure I respond (and I do and love to) & here you are, like a pro, with a million comments to respond to. You are above and beyond so thank you for responding however long it took. You never have to apologize. Your answers were on point and I appreciate that you took the time to answer them since you probably don’t have any recents plans to make another video like this to address “how to be a yt’er” questions lol. I found this by accident and i'm assuming mostly women watch this channel. i have been watching lots of youtube lately and really wonder why some people get success and some have like 25 views.. My observations so far is a little blurry but i have a few ideas that some of you can comment about.(if you're trying to be a youtuber) 1. If you are a woman under 40 it seems to be almost like a given that you get 5-8k views per video if you make videos about anything that is close to a male dominated subject. (cars, motorcycles trucks etc) so if you really want to make it try to make videos about things in that type of field.. if you have the slightest interest in those subjects of course. 2. This is more of an observation, some creators have professional intros and talk to the camera like they are MKBHD even from the first video. I don't know why they do it but are you not blowing up really fast you look stupid and narcissistic so i wouldn't do that myself. 3. If you are new KEEP VIDEOS SHORT! it used to be a 10 minute line when you could get more ads in but if you are brand new that doesn't matter. 4. If you can talk endlessly about nothing start doing videos about how expensive things is, there is a lot of brand new channels talking about housing and car prices. And most of them don't provide anything new but i guess lots of people really wanna hear about how prices are about to drop shortly.
