Hi, do you know if you can put some soft foam wheels on it to replace the hard wheels that came with it? If so, what I size would I need to buy? Thanks, Dan
That "V" is called Dihedral; it makes the plane more stable. WE once flew Rudder, Elevator and Throttle, with dihedral in the wings. If you moved the horn forward 30 degrees on the ailerons, and gave it twice as much up aileron than down, it will roll better and turns will need less rudder.
E--flight had this 1.2M T-28 Red and White,flaps and retracts, but discontinued it a couple years back. Previous version did not have SAFE, nor telemetry of course. Glad to see this one come back with upgrades but like others have said E-flight 1.2 M warbirds need to add nav. lights as they role out new versions. Hopefully they will bring back the 1.2M P-47 (with nav. lights!)soon.

Fms T-28 is and was the best warbird trainer
The T-28 was beast of an advanced trainer back in its day. It was the very next plane designed by North American after the P-51, and had nearly the same power to weight ratio in the Navy models with the 1425 horsepower Wright R1820 with dual stage dual speed supercharger.
You always do great displaying your planes! How would this compare power-wise to the 1.2m Mustang or P-47? I have the Mustang and I am thinking about upgrading to the 70 amp Avian Lite ESC that comes with this plane. How long is the battery cable from the IC3 connector to the ESC itself? Finally, what is the difference between the normal Avain ESCs and the Avian Lite ESCs? Thanks!

Still no navigation lights Horizon? I prefer the BlitzRCWorks/Banana Hobby T-28 (Durafly clone) which a lot more scale imo. Plus Horizon Hobby now has lousy, lazy support. If you have an issue, go fish...they now make you chat with robots and email support is even worse!

Completely understand! We used to fly only off grass, and in many ways that is actually better! Consider yourself lucky to have grass short enough to fly off of, as our grass is WAY too tall for most of our planes.

It seems this Trojan 1.2m can fligth very smoothly (and realistic) with 3S and more sportively with 4S. Even without gyro.
Could you indicate the size of wheel ? I didn't see any information about this. 2 inches ? less ?
And in your opinion, is the landing gear strong enough to support 1.7kg of the aircraft's weight in flight?

Just a few tips, if I may:
Before deploying flaps, the aircraft should be slowed considerably. That way you won't get that sudden hump-climb and will prevent flap stress and damage. One way to slow down, right now, is to do a flaps - up, power-off, steep, level 360 degree turn.
Use throttle and elevator to prevent over-climbing after takeoff. Most models are over-powered and the throttle is there for a purpose. Especially on paved runways where there is less drag on the wheels, less than full power is often fine for a good takeoff.
Three-point landings for nose-wheel aircraft are a big no-no as doing it stresses the nose gear tremendously. Such airplanes ought to be landed on the mains first, then allowed to slow and let the nose wheel drop naturally.
Practicing departed flight (stalls and spins) at a safe altitude is wise. It will inform you what airspeed is best and safe for approach and landing.
Tip stalls can be prevented by washout. This is where the wing is slightly twisted so that at the end part of the wing the leading edge is slightly lower than the trailing edge causing the end part of the wing to meet the airflow at a lower angle of attack than the centre and root of the wing in normal upright flight. This is a effective way to prevent the end part of the wing from stalling before the centre and root part.
If you cannot twist the wing, trimming both ailerons equally up a few degrees will essentially have the same effect.

Battery question, what should I set my voltage alarm at for optimum battery safety on a spectrum 3s 11.1v battery? I’m using it on a typhon brushless. BTW. Love this Trojan beautiful
Oh a ground vehicle it can be a little different than planes because of the way it draws voltage, but I usually go with 3.6 volts per cell to be safe or 3.5 volts per cell if you are more comfortable with stopping about as soon as you hear the alarm go off 👍😁⚓️
At 7:45 you mention keeping the speed up in turns to avoid tip stall. Now that you hve flown it more, have you found that to be an issue? I had the 1.1m and never had any issues with tip stall; and I am now considering either the 1.1 or 1.2. If the 1.2 is tip stally, I'll go with the 1.1
I think it is more the T-28 airframe that people say has a tendency to wingtip stall on lower speed turns. I have the older 2.0m T-28 6s and have not experienced any wingtip stall tendencies with it. I only have about 15 flights on it since getting it used though. I am thinking of getting this 1.2m because it will be easier to transport to the field. Also the spektrum 4s batteries are 1/3 the price of the 6s ones.

I can try and take a look regarding the wire for you. We do have a second flight video, not sure if I show the wire there or not. Power though, I think the Airacobra feels faster and more sporty. Could just be remembering it wrong, but I’d say if there were a race between the two the Airacobra would likely win. Happy Flying 👍😁😎⚓️

Got the original and it is one of my favorite planes. It goes with me almost all the time. Might get this as mine is getting ruff around the edges but those cartoon front graphics have to go.

The Turbo Timber is awesome, but I think there might be a couple better choices for beginners. Have you already purchased that plane?
Can anyone please share how do you replace the nose strut. My son had a little rough landing, and I can not get to the c clip that is holding the strut in to replace it. There is no room for needle nose. What am I missing? I'd hate to have to completely take the retract a part and risk damaging the electronic board.
You'll need to remove the nosegear and completely disassemble it in order to access tht clip that holds the shaft in place. There is no way to access and replace the clip without pilling the two haves of the plastic case apart.. Be mindful to make note of the screws sizes and their respective holes.. there are 4 sizes IIRC...
I found the nose gear to be a weak point of this model. It would bend back and when I would bend it to its originals position, it would snap. I ended up making my own strut that was more flexible. The steps to replace the original strut was absurb. You had to disassemble the entire retract mechanism.

Just buy something like the Multiplex LED Set, set of three lights you can charge with a Micro-USB and attach on the wings and fuselage..

Would safe work with a 6 chanel radio, dx6e?
On your dx6e I don't think it has that extra channel like the NX6 so you would be stuck with AS3X always on and also would loose the reverse thrust capability. ch1:Throttle, ch2:Aileron, ch3:Elevator, ch4:Rudder, ch5:Gear, ch6:Flaps. I have been using the NX6 and I fly AS3X always on and use the seventh channel for thrust reverse. You could leave the gear down and use safe select that way until you feel comfortable not using safe anymore, then rebind later with AS3X always on and hook up your gear channel to ch5 like normal. The other option is to temporarily disable flaps and use that channel for safe select and the landings would be a little hotter, but it would work and you would retain the gear functionality in that configuration.
Hey I broke my perpeller. Will a 2 blade prop work and what size do you recommend. The factory prop is 12x7
12x8 would work well. I use a 10x10 on my FMS zero 1100mm

The standrard front nose gear for this bird is not great. I bought the RC Motion T-33 80 front nose gear, but I am little confused on how to install it because you obviously have to make some modifications. I was wondering if there is a video for this?
Understatement. The nose gear for the bird isn't worth the wire hanging my shirts in my closet.
My nose gear went out (strut) and it's not going to be available from mysterious Horizon Zombie for 3 months! Lousy company that has horrible Q&A.
I agree with the horrible Q and A. Sold me a dead 4s battery straight out of the box and giving me a hard time about replacing it. This company will not last long if they continue down this road. I was told by a hobby shop that they had a bad run on these batteries, but they don’t want to honor the warranty without making you jump through hoops. The guy in product support keeps coming up with things for me to do before he’ll ship a new one out.

what makes the T-28 a better plane than the P-51? in Your opinion.
Easier to fly and land. Tricycle gear vs tail. The T-28 was a Navy Trainer plane, the aerodynamics of the airplane are more suited for that role.
