You don't have to think positively if that's what you're not able to do. Sometimes, it's better to be self aware and acknowledge that times are tough and that it's okay to feel the way you do, but if you ever need it, the tips in this video are more like coping strategies.

I haven't had a real friend till I was 20. I had no friends at all till I was 17. From 17 to 20 I had a lot of backstabbing friends who harmed me. Trust me, it's better to stay alone till the right person becomes your friend than to make tons of friends who're no use to you. I suggest that you should join groups of anything you're good at, like music group, art group, dance group, book club etc anything that'll make you feel familiar with other people. People with similar interests tend to become friends real quick. And if you don't have a hobby, develop one. I hope this helps you and you find a real friend very soon. XX

I’m sad because I don’t know if there is a place for me in this world. I feel nostalgic for a past I was never apart of. I see my peers doing well and achieving happiness and I wonder why is it that I can’t seem to figure it out? On paper my life should be fine, and yet I’m always miserable I know how self indulgent it is to wallow in my own sadness and I’m aware I’m not the only one feeling this way despite me not ever coming across anyone like this ever which ironically makes me feel more guilty about my sense of anomie and isolation from the world around me.

Ive done things i regret and now im gonna live with them forever.
A person saying hi to me in public is terrible because they dont know what i did.
I didnt do anything thats really bad but it floats in my head when someone is talking about me in a positive way.
I also have adhd and its hard to focus and avoid mistakes.
But yeah, when somebody is saying congratulations on something or i hope you have a great day it makes me mad and sad that they dont know what type of person i really am.
Im not a good person and if i told people they would disown me.
Ive considered suicide but i know my family would be upset and thats the only reason i havent done anything yet.
I also hate when people say the stereotypical thing like “It will get better” or “are you ok” because it reminds me of it.
I dont want to say what i did as im mainly a private person who keeps to themselves.

@@ainsdeepfried Sometimes in those dark days as you have I remember the poem of Kathleen Raine:
To write down all I contain at this moment
I would pour the desert through an hour-glass,
      The sea through a water-clock,
Grain by grain and drop by drop
Let in the trackless, measureless, mutable seas and sands.

For earth's days and nights are breaking over me,
The tides and sands are running through me,
And I have only two hands and a heart to hold the desert and the sea.

What can I contain of it? It escapes and eludes me,
      The tides wash me away,
The desert shifts under my feet.
I think I cannot pretend to hold the sea and the sand with only my hands and my heart, I cannot just think I am superior to my dificulties, fear and despair based only in my desire to feel better. To have my heart calmed I need to understand those are emotions, not the complete truth but just a fraction of it, even if they are not at the moment, there are people who cares for me, even if I'm alone, my pain gets calm when I get calm, even when sometimes I see the tragedy like a distant picture, doesn't mean I don't feel the weight of it but means I will try to do a smart piece of my time to feel myself better, and more calm, I cannot try to hold the world, by I can try to hold myself even if that is not enough.
Keep the hope my friend, better times will come. : )

Please don't feel like that. You have not chose your family. If they have mistakes or defects, is not your fault. Try self talk. Talk to yourself or if things get really bad get away from them. You don't have to feel bad for what others do. I had really bad negative thoughts before with my family and others until the day I realized that I have to accept my thoughts, because they are part of me. It's like trying to stoop doing poo because is gross. Is part of you and you will always do it.Never fight with your thoughts because you are going to lose big time. Just accept them and take them with love and compassion. Thoughts will never determinate who we really are as persons.

    If you're reading this;
I wish you the best life ever! I know you can do this, fight this pain, and have a beautiful reward when you've overcome the pain and sadness. Please try not to overthink, that's one of the reasons why you're getting more sad and sad, if you are overthinking, then try to say to yourself: "I need to stop overthinking. I know i'm not such a bad person. What i'm saying is not true."
Because if you have a regret, try to let it go. It's VERY normal to make mistakes, even the masters themselves make mistakes. I believe in you guys! Don't let anxiety, depression or whatever mental illness you have take you over, it's YOUR body, not that from darkness. You can do it! I know you can, whoever is reading this, depression never stays if you fight hard enough! And I know you guys are fighting hard, but keep in mind, sadness, depression or anxiety NEVER stays. It's theoretically not possible.
I wish you all the best, good luck with fighting your own mental illness. If you need help, try commenting! I'll try to help you! Or ask your friend for help, make sure they're trustworthy, because some people aren't smart enough for what you're going through. Bye!

Michael Inniss well you cant always be positive and always be negative, if you were, then you wouldnt really be Human but think of it like this, there are people who are mostly positive and mostly negative and this is due to how your brain/subconscious is programmed, when you manage to deal with the negativity but it comes crawling back, it's about what you do with it, not the fact that it's there, negativity is energy and energy can change, you could chose to stay negative or try to deal with it to the best of your ability.

The problem with trying to replace the negative thoughts with positive ones is that it might be an avoidance of a real problem. And when reality comes back it will just be worse because you thought you could win with positive thinking while the truth was somewhere else.
Actually, I'm kinda afraid of this method because somehow it would mean losing some sort of critic mind and my true self. I know there should be a middle ground but hard to define which is my true middle ground.

It may help you see it in a lens that might allow you to come up with a solution or at least understand the first step to take to handle ornchange it. It can also help with coping while going through it. It is important to address problems, but being more mentally positive instead of hampered with negativity can help kick you off.

Nesterou I do agree. Basically, I also do feel that it might not be the fact that we're negative but perhaps self conscious. Usually the negative thoughts could come from either trauma or constantly at odds with your surroundings; people included. I feel afraid to sometimes even go to the store anymore, however we all can take a negative but change it into something alternate. I figured although I do like to have my own personal space, I am aware that there are safety in numbers. While I do prefer to go out and do things such as going to the store, I at times feel vulnerable, a negative thought so instead I ask if they could come with me. With negative thoughts such as trauma. Like for example, nowadays we have negative people; too many to be exact. Who will say anything to anyone to get them riled up or second guess who they are as a person. But the best thing to possibly fix Negative thoughts in general is to know your self worth and value. Trust me; practicing this eases the mind.😊

Accept that you’re not perfect no matter how you think, and feel they are your thoughts, and feelings and no one else’s. Your feelings and thoughts are valid no matter what.
If you want to permanently refrain negative thoughts try to reduce them with positive affirmations, heroic poses before a quiz or test. There’s many ways to neutralize negativity than completely getting rid of them.
Do things you truly love and enjoy it’s not a chore, and you’re not being told to do the chores. It can be making art, listening to music, writing, anything.

    • @josephforjoseph
      @josephforjoseph Před 4 lety +5

Not sure if you're still going through this but if you are I can relate. This may not sound good but try to take each one of those actions at a time. I started with the hitting as I hit myself on the head a lot I focused on the logic of it, really work to detach the emotion. "If I keep hitting my head i will bruise my brain and then i wont be able to think properly and my mistakes will only become worse. I would kill myself from permanently ruining myself to be even worse at my mistakes. So i need to stop this so I can be conscious enough to ensure i can at least not make mistakes." Viewing it logicially really made me see that and brought it down. So i started hitting my thigh. That eventually became stupid to me so i stopped that.
The rage was still there when i'd mess up so then i went to insulting myself, screaming or yelling at myself to the point i would make myself cry. I think having learned to stop the hitting, the verbal abuse was seen with more clarity and strength. If i could stop hitting then i could stop the words. So every time i cried I'd tell myself how sad i was, speak it out loud. Hear my voice speak how i didnt want to be worthless and youre being so mean to me, I'm not shit or pathetic. I attuned to the child in me, the core innocense that was being bullied. I would speak to the bully the very basic feelings they would make me feel when they hurt me. Since it was myself there was no one around to laugh or mock when i said "youre hurting me and I dont like you being mean to me." I heard myself, and I was able to listen to myself where people you cant know their thoughts wouldnt. I knew my own hurt and eventually I stopped screaming at myself also. Now I just lash out at objects briefly or if i am angry at how i messed up i just tell myself "do better. I know you are better than this. You are greater than this. I dont want you to fail." Or other statements like that. I acknowledge my anger but I try to lift myself up in it if that makes sense.
Sorry for the long post but if this can help you I hope it will.

I deal with self harm all of the time, not only cutting but scratching, picking, biting pieces of my lip, when I'm really stressed out I will smash my head off of a wall or floor etc. It's like I will have flashes of sadness and thoughts of taking my own life. I have I diary that I write in and the first time I wrote in it was April 2015 but it feel like these dark thoughts almost like voices have been following me for the last few years. I always chicken out when I plan to take my own life, I'm scared of death but at the same time it would make my mind at peace. Nobody I know in real life has to deal with this, so I feel alone in this situation. Also people in my life that people would consider "friends" I don't, I just see them as people that I talk to, not people I will even talk to a year from now. It doesn't help that I have intense spurts of anger, sometimes I would hurt my animals because of that, then I feel horrible about it and hate myself more, this is actually something I have had since I was young. I cant even go up to get something without someone with me because I have a fear of what people think of me. @Rayunna Think of it like this. I'm a person too. I need all same things as other people. Bullying myself is same as bullying someone else. It can't do any good. So tell yourself what you would to someone else. Be objective. It's ok to be a little self critical. But don't get sad or dissmotivated. Here'y best part. You control what you do and think. You have mind of your own. So when you objectivly tell yourself what you're doing wrong, use that information to change what you don't like! I had problem where I said to myself:,,Great, another thing that's wrong about me..." No! Worst thing I could do! Instead, say:,,Ok, I'm doing this wrong, but I'm awqre of it, which means I can do better! I can fix it!" And remember, you were born. That means you were ready for life. Never give up, as long as you're alive, there us hope.

I like this channel. But i don't think we should attempt to ignore negative thoughts or force positivity. I think its better to embrace negativity and use it to inspire productivity. Take your negativity and turn it into positivity. The most beautiful art and music comes from negative thoughts yet produces positive outcomes. If you think of your self as "worthless" or anything similar, embrace that and let it inspire you to change that, to better yourself and make you stronger. Kill your self doubts, by pushing yourself to achieve, thus building your self esteem. Everything has a balance, we have negative thoughts for a reason. If humans were constantly positive and content, what would we have achieved? What would we stand for? What would we fight for? Good luck to anyone stuck in a negative spiral, fight your way out of it! Find a balance.

I’m not depressed, but I’ve been thinking about things that scare me. When I here the word suicide I cant stop thinking about it and I go to far with it. I’m a scientist so sometimes things like logic and the human race scares me in the way we think act or even see the world. If you are thinking about ending your life anytime death is going to happen anyway so stay healthy and puts yourself to the max. People need to understand being non negative is easy when you actually try. And yes it could be hard for you. I have bad anxiety about science and that’s why I love it. Everyone and everything is going in the same direction like water. Water comes from different places. From the sky, evaporation, and still water. But it all leads the the same place. If the planet is about 70% water, where does the water go. Well that’s easy...together. So us as humans have to stay together. Even if we don’t know each other and speak differently (language grammar Etc.) we are all the same genetically . So if you have dark or anxious thoughts just talk about it us as people must help one another. Even if you have a bully. Just remember there weakness is society. So try to talk to them. Try to push yourself out there and just try. Because we, us are all “technical and physical” the same. Not mentally tho. Many people complain about there life and that’s ok. But there’s people out there for you and you may not even know it. Also the easiest way to get negative thoughts out of your head is just try. Yes try. The more you try and push yourself to do something the more happy you get. Trust me it works. When I was about 11 I was semi-depressed. I couldn’t eat. Sleep. Talk. Socialize. And even do what I love without crying. Then I went to school and was 10 times happier. Now I have more than 5000 plus friends (no joke) I stream with my friends and don’t care about my social media I care about the world around me and try to make it a happier place. If you read all of this congrats and hope your life it 10 times happier just like mine is.

Nokori If you can't replace the negative thoughts with positive then try using a neutral. Like for me, I'm scared of being in social situations because I think it makes me feel horrible after and is extremely stressful. Now I firmly believed this (I am getting slowly better though) but my therapist, told me instead of telling myself "I won't feel bad after", tell myself " spending time with friends is more in line with my goals". See neutral. and I am motivated to spend time with others though i'm scared.

I love this video. It really helps someone in their tragic moments. Even your way of talking are giving me a good vibes with a peaceful mind.
I want to share my experience because I’m always lonely, I don’t know if it is some of my love ones died or something have changed or someone hurt me or maybe something really disturbed me.
But one day i just woke up crying and telling myself That I’m tired. Not tired of my life but for what is happening to my life. I told myself that I WANT TO CHANGE. I’M TIRED BEING SAD AND DEPRESSED SO I WANT A NEW BEGINNING STARTING TO MYSELF. IF I CAN’T HAVE A NEW LIFE THEN AT LEAST I CAN HAVE A NEW ME. A BETTER ME.. And I really said it out loud to myself. It helps me i think coz’ I’m been feeling more happy than before but i still experiencing loneliness but i think some positive things or maybe some things that can change my emotion and maybe sometimes, I’m giving advice to myself to tell myself that EVERYTHING HAS A REASON. I’m a perfectionist but drew it away because being a perfectionist are really making me down than lifting me up. So then I learned that ALL THINGS MUST BE SIMPLE. Because THERE IS NO SUCH THING CALLED PERFECT- just BETTER.
ALSO, a thing that can really change someone’s perspective.. is that; THERE’s ALWAYS MISTAKES BEFORE ACHIEVING SOMETHING RIGHT and THERE’s ALWAYS FAILURES BEFORE A SUCCESS.
BE NICE TO YOURSELF. Take care of yourself. Love yourself.
    Learned to appreciate little things.
Don’t take to hard to yourself.
And don’t expect too much for something. JUST DREAM ON.
REACH A GOAL. RUN FOR YOUR SUCCESS. AND ACHIEVE FOR YOURSELF.
Hey, you are better. Keep on it. 😊

I have been stuck in negative thoughts for quite a while now. I was able to beat my old negative mindset years and years ago with forced positive thinking (whenever a negative or hateful thought entered my brain I replaced it with a positive one which felt stupid but eventually it worked on its own) and by writing lists of things to be thankful for and literally my whole life changed. It was insane. Years later I somehow stumbled back into this negative mindset again and it's terrible I can only see the negative things in my life, other peoples negative qualities even if they're great people my brain chooses to not focus on that and this makes me very hateful and cold towards everyone I meet because my brain is nonstop searching for reasons to hate people. When I was in therapy my therapist said that I have a good life and was surprised I honestly couldn't see that but I just can't see what's so good about it? And I recently lost a friend I had considered my best friend and honestly I should be like "good riddance" because it was mostly a very toxic friendship full of fighting, disagreements and belittling each other and others and I have other friends who are amazing and care about me a lot but I have a very hard time focusing on that instead I only feel anger and bitterness and disappointment about this one lost friendship. That is my whole life now - the negative things and people are in focus and anything good is like background noise I struggle to pay attention to at all. It sucks. But I am going to start by writing lists of things to be thankful for - like my actually GOOD friends - taking up new hobbies which will probably be hard as I struggle to find joy in anything, and plan my days better. I suggest everyone in the same position as myself tries the same thing. After all our brains can be re-programmed but it's a process just like training your muscles. Sorry for the vent.

"Don't apply your perspective to another person." I'll work on that.
Also, something that I do is I named the 'person' in my head that combats my negative thoughts and I've been working on a drawing of him. Having something as concrete as a drawing of the character in question helps me remember that even if he's not real, he's real in my head and he's good for me. I'm an optimist but I get too concerned about how people feel about me so that's what I'm trying to combat here.

I found a way of dealing with it was to imagine the negative thoughts as some personified horrible visual form(I went with a big black raven person with claws and teeth) and then imagaine myself with some sort of massive sword attacking it. Its a good a way of distracting yourself from the thoughts and gives you the feeling, in a wierd sort of way that your fighting it and your winning.

Its been a lot easier being positive lately. Eversince I've started on my medication, getting help for my mental illnesses and focusing on my spiritual mental and physical health a lot more everything just seems a bit brighter and i find myself looking on the positive side more than the negative. Its a rough process but i can guarantee that these kind of practices really are worth the time and effort.
