Flygon, as you play more violet, you might want to open the menu ASAP and in the settings turn off cutscenes. It doesn’t cut out ALL of them, but it gets a solid half.
Up
I’m surprised you didn’t allow yourself an Iron Bundle encounter in Area Zero, or any other Ice types there, since Area Zero is a separate area
I assume he probably banned paradox pokemon because they're too OP
I believe paradox mons are considered to be in the same tier as ultra beasts, legendaries and mythicals.
And, y'know, they're post game?
@@Ashen_Siren Some of them aren't, idk about violet's paradox Mons but you can get a couple of the weaker paradox Mons before the credits roll. I got paradox Misdreavus and Jigglypuff, and I bet they weren't the only ones.
@@MasterOphSky dont forget great tusk and iron treads
Finally, the Monotype Nuzlockes have come full circle! Also, I'm really surprised with how you handled the pacing of this video. Despite being over half an hour, it certainly didn't feel like it. It was a blast!
17:09 This is what I thought as well, but it turns out those stat boosts go BOTH WAYS! I was trying out a nuzlocke myself, and when Ryme takes out your pokemon, the crowd can cheer her instead, which I'm pretty sure can randomly boost any stats except evasion.
YUP that can make that fight a run ender-and the trickiest part is that it swings HARD
I only barely edged out a victory with one Poke standing on my Nuzlocke thanks to her getting some killer stat boosts.
I thought that was obvious? Don't know how it's unfair, except for the past where the player is way better than the AI (generally) and can better exploit them. But that's true of literally every Pokémon game and it's therefore moot
She'll also get buffs if she gets supereffective hits or idk exists? If you don't do anything remarkable, she appears to get a buff as well. Unfortunately for her, my casual run with some overlevelling (cyclizar + stored power wigglytuff) didn't care
man, that double psyduck was insane!
During my fire and water challenges I found shiny grimsnarl I tried to name him creamy milk because that’s what he reminds me of and apparently I can’t do that because apparently that could be considered a sexual term and I was like really
@@mechajason I like to call grimmsnarl baal weevil cause he looks like a little devil and a weevil
I actually laughed out loud at "Frobo", rest in piece big man, Filbert really was one of the teammates of all time
3:58 Fun thing I realized in my most recent SV nuzlocke: if you lock on to a wild pokemon, it shows their level above their head, letting you scout for an encounter of the right level if there's a problematic range
I'm reasonably sure that nuzlocke rules dictate you have to catch the first one you see, though i'm not 100% on how that applies for this game
@@timob1681they spin a wheel or close their eyes and see what pokemon they run into first
Finally! The long awaited Ice Type Nuzlocke!!! I’m getting chills preparing to watch this
C h i l l s
Mr. TapMan used Chilly Reception!
@@cryolitegem It's super effective!
The opposing pokemon fainted!
@@Mango_on_a_fork switch your pokemon?
Keep current pokemon
Ice types are a lot of fun this gen! Can’t wait to see how it turns out
I'd love to see a flying run, SV introduced so many birds.
Or, stepping outside the typing, a bird run. That would allow some fun things like Quaquaval, Espathra, Golduck, and another chance to use frobo or whatever her name was. It also has the side effect of cuttinf out Gyarados, who is good but boring to use.
Honestly I'd like to see the other paths too in these runs, specially when you do them in order to acces area zero... Team Star battles are much more interesting than Gym Leaders imo
29:35 "I didn't really feel like leveling them up"
If you listen closely while this line is said, you can ever so faintly hear Jan die inside just a bit more.
Congratz on getting one type nuzlock of every type!!! Its awesome you were able to squeeze the last one in before end of the year. Can't wait to see more in the future!!
Hey flygon! Your nuzlockes are my fave and I love that you’ve already managed a monotype scarlet/violet one 🤩
A tip for the future: Haxours isn’t a pseudo legendary
It’s base stat is 540 not 600
Hydreigon is the pseudo of Unova :)
It’s a semi-demi-mini-legendary
23:47 haxorus is not a pseudo legendary it has base stat total of 540 as opposed to pseudo legendaries, who have 600. *uses inhaler to assert dominance*
Pseudo ² legendary
@@Kerosiin Pseudo Pseudo Legendary?
@@Kerosiin they are called semi pseudo legendaries
@@finnedreaper7069 well that’s just boring
@@Kerosiin yeah, the classification kinda sucks
The glee I felt when I saw your starter :)
"One way or another, heads are gonna role" was way more hype than it had any right to be.
honestly this was a perfect way to finish the monolocke's, S/V having such cool ice types definitely helped. That said I'm glad to hear you'll be doing more, these are always fun to watch. great video as always!
Amazing video as usual! Any FlygonHG upload always makes my day! Gen 9 really adds a twist to hardcore nuzlocking thanks to its pseudo open world set up. I'm not sure if this has been addressed before but would you consider adding Starfall Street and Path of Legends in your nuzlocke progression? Honestly, I feel like Starfall Street and its Starmobiles are the most challenging fights in gen 9 and I would love to see how you'll tackle those! Would also love to see a mono bug or fairy run!
The Starmobiles are arbitrarily immune to various status moves, they're definitely challenging on a first/blind playthrough.
But I don't know if they *remain* difficult once you know what they're capable of, and aren't wasting turns selecting ineffective moves.
@@wereoctopus I feel like just by being immune to status moves (and their torque attacks seems to have infinite PP) makes them more difficult than other boss fights, who you should also know the capabilities of.
@@wereoctopus I mean, knowledge trivializes every fight in any nuzlocke depending how deep you intend to research.
I have been looking forward to this challenge for so long now! Thank you so much DR.HG!
Personally, I would LOVE to see a normal type monolocke of SV. I feel like SV has its fair share of new and interesting normal types that I would love to see a monolocke of!
Yes Maushold hype!
Oh this is gonna be GREAT! Added to my watch later for after I finish the game, as with all your Gen9 runs. I’m gonna have so much new flygon content WOOHOO
Fantastic run! I'm glad you got to end on Pokemon Violet: as you've noted, it's a fantastic game for challenges, and has a legit good story. Thank you for making these awesome videos, they've been very entertaining and inspiring!
Amazing journey :) didn't even realize this was the last missing piece of the puzzle! Loved the video but I think it would be really cool to see the fights against the Team Leaders and their sentient cars
As the proud owner of 5 full-odds shiny Golducks, I'm starting to think something fishy--er, ducky--is afoot.
Edit: I LITERALLY CAUGHT A 6TH ONE WHILE WATCHING THIS VIDEO WTF
I also got a shiny psyduck while doing a magikarp outbreak. It was hilariously stuck in the cliff wall, like lots of other psyduck had been, which I had been mercy killing as well. Weird. But of all things, why would they make psyduck a more likely shiny?
@@pugglezhugglez1171 I think it’s just that psyduck is a super common Pokémon, and the shiny is super obvious so it’s difficult to miss.
@@insertname252 you're probably right
Now you can block the path to Solacea town in Diamond/Pearl with an unreasonable number of Psyducks!
That edit made me laugh so hard
I've been waiting for an ice run for a while now, my third favourite type in the game!! Always a good feeling to see a new run, especially one as fun and varied as this :)
Just exactly what I needed when I needed it. Thanks bro :)
Congrats on finishing all the types for your monotype lockes! They've all been a blast to watch. If you plan to do more for scarlet and violet, I would recommend dark type, considering all the new ones they've added so I think that would be fun to watch
This is honestly your best work of combining gameplay and… music. What a masterpiece!
The memories you made with all the vids 😊 hope you can still make more nuzlocks and become very super popular maybe even 1 mill
3:25 GREGGREAHAHHHHHHB TAYLOR SWIFT
I scrolled through the comments just to see if anyone else caught that 🕺🕺🕺
you must be new here… he makes references like that pretty much every video.
@@purgatoryproductions310HE LOVE TAYLOR SWIFT 😍😍😍
Tbf the assault vest on Frozone wouldn’t have mattered against Glimmora since Rock Blast is physical so yeah be glad for Dazzling Gleam
I've been watching since that Grass monolocke, and it's great to see how you've grown.
this is pretty cool to see you finally complete every type, bit of a shame you didnt cover the other storyline for this video tho, especially the Eri fight. nonetheless, really enjoyed it!
Congrats on finishing all the type runs! It's been a lot of fun to see all your challenges, and it's also enjoyable to see how the new games play, so I'm v much looking forward to what else you come out with for these games.
Maybe you could try a run where you have to double nuzlocke with the co-op mode and use that for some sort of soul link style run? Not sure how all the logistics would would but since co-oping with the opposite version lets you encounter exclusives to the other game, there might be some potential with encounters perhaps? Regardless, looking forward to what you come out with next, and happy holidays in advance!
When Flygon posts on any of his channels, I know I'm going to have a good night. I wish I could catch your livestreams more often, but I'm just glad I had your videos, old and new, to rely upon throughout this entire messed up, but beautiful year. Thanks, Matti. Happy Holidays!
Another amazing video. Thank you for always producing such fantastic content!!!
love you FlygonHG your video format and voice is on point for me
I'm a huge fan of Ice types and have been since Swinub, so I'm very happy to see this run!
Great videos as always. I don’t like to do my own nuzlocks but this inspired me to do some mono type regular runs
Ironically he is doing a nuzlocke with his pal flygon's 4 times arch nemesis
What a delightful birthday surprise, I love your videos ❤❤ time to see how you do bc I almost wiped on my nuzlocke even w items personally lmao
Congrats on completing your monotype runs!!! You're awesome!!!
Like after watching every video you have ever released, this video has yet again made my day! Amazing year of content, and you have become my favourite CZcamsr, as well as re igniting my love for Pokémon! Have a great Christmas OneBallHG🙂
Always loved your videos!
I'd like to see you play a Poison only nuzlocke of this game. !
Love the Video!
I was personally missing the explanation of the type itself what your are normally doing in the beginning of these videos.
congrats on completing all the monolocks! thats super impressive :)
loving the the new editing and the content in the past few videos! keep up the good work
You can do a mono-ghost locke using only Paldean pokemon since there are 6 of them (Skeledirge, Brambleghast, Houndstone, Ceruledge, Gholdengo, Annihilape). Also haven't seen anyone put in the effort to evolve Gimmighoul yet
Great video, love your editing
i get so many of his references i love this channel
I love this shiny storyline because I got a Psyduck during the tutorial on my first Scarlet run and got a second just randomly later on while prepping for the poison camp
For future runs you should consider completing the math class at the school. From completing it you get 50 rock Tera shards and can get a rock Tera type for resistances
I do like to see some of the other challenges taken with nuzlock rules. The titans snd team star can really be tough for mono type runs.
Hint: Backup a save that has already passed throught all the cutscenes in the case you wipe
So, I’ve very recently started giving a go at a shiny-Locke in scarlet. And not long after I started I saw this video. Welp, sure enough, while running around leveling up my crew of 2, I just stumbled across a shiny psyduck who was very helpful with the cliff titan!
1:09 - 1:24 I will never get over how witty the writing is on this channel. Truly amazing
Poor frogger definitely deserved better
@@andreescalona8902 you're so right, Frodo was a true MVP
Like the video but I feel this was sorely missing the Starfall street bosses and the titans
Loving it Flygon!
Pleasure watching as always Flygon!
2:32 I did my first hardcore nuzlocke (and my first nuzlocke) recently, while also playing Black 2/White 2 for the first time and lost my Mienshao to Ghetsis'Hydreigon because he missed 95% accurate Jump Kick, thus falling in a situation of wiping to Ghetsis. So I can relate.
Love your work so much, Dr HG! I'd love to see a dog themed team in celebration of Poppy 🧡
You should try doing a run of Pokémon Scarlet or Violet using only Pokémon with Paradox variants, but no Paradox Pokémon themselves. How you handle Cyclizar (since its Paradox variants are the legendaries) and Gardevoir and Gallade (since Iron Valiant fuses them into one) is up to you, and you could personally decide whether or not you’d allow Misdreavus and Jigglypuff to evolve, but it’d be cool to see Pokémon like Donphan, Amoonguss, and Hariyama be stars of the show.
Thats a fun set of pokemon to use, a good mix of some weaker mons and some strong ones.
I love reading everyone's suggestions lol
It's cool seeing Cloyster still be a good pve 'mon after all these years.
1:22 there is something really messed up with the one Smoliv running away while everybode else is standing there ground.
And rhe most disturbing part is. It probably didn't even save him.....oh it Snowsalot out here..
I just finished a Bug-type Nuzlocke of Scarlet, though not hardcore, so I definitely would love to see you do a hardcore Nuzlocke of it!
You’ve been making a bunch of (2) Three Houses references lately, which I am 100% here for!! Have you considered streaming or posting a run of that game??
Would love to see the next S/V nuzlocke be Pokémon that are used as food from the many recipes and items in game. Not sure how many there truly are but it would at least be fun variety of encounters
Me yesterday: maybe I should do an ice type nuzlocke for Christmas break!
Me today: oh look! A guide on how to do it 🤭
Great video! I love your nuzlockes! ❤️
I love terra types! So many amazing ways to make having multiple of the same Pokemon even cooler.
Effectively creating dual types and three types that have no ability to exist in any other game. I can't freaking wait to get a switch as soon as I can!
oh I love that this run starts with a Snom :D they're my no.1 favorite
Ah FlygonHG, *ice* of you to drop by… ha…ha….
I’ll see myself out.
Excellent video! It's really nice to see how the nuzlocke community is adapting to the new game format. And an ice type nuzlocke is really fitting -- obviously it's winter, but also Paldea has a great selection of ice types, and I'm glad we got to see the new snow in action.
It's not winter for the whole world...
I almost finished playing the game myself and just watched your first nuzlocke of it, because i also didnt want to be spoilered too much. And i gotta say it was so cool to see you go blind into this and make the same mistakes that happened to myself. This is cool to see, because usually, your nuzlockes are fully planned and very well structured with mechanics you already used a 1000 times. Going blind into this with new mechanics and no knowledge, makes it seem a lot more "human", which is nice to see that side as well. And to the game itself, i loved playing this game so much. No matter how much bugs and glitches are spread and how shit the overworld looks in a lot of parts of the map, it is so fun to grind something new, because in my whole pokemon career, i either played older games with no way to connect anymore or played romhacks and such stuff. Getting the real pokemon experience with trading and battling online is so much fun and there are so many new cool mons, mechanics and areas to explore and also tons of cool old mons available, despite all the hate these games get i think they are awesome. Thanks for your videos.
Thank you for the videos FlygonHG! 😇🥰😁
I’m happy you made at least a single caitlin snow/killer frost reference
1:43 Absolutely amazing X-Men reference, Ice Man is my favorite superhero!!!
great challenge! "flush the little turd" in regards to killing clodsire was both insulting to me as a clodsire enjoyer and also very funny
so nice to see you catch a shiny instead of killing it even though i understand why you killed shinies in older videos
What would be interesting in monolockes of this game would be if you could allow yourself 1 encounter per run that isn't the type but has the tera type of the locke to mirror the gym leaders
I wanna add a Terastalization rule for next nuzlockes.
You are allowed yourself just ONE pokemon in the entire run that you want to use without the typing restriction, but only if the Terastalization you use is the same of the challenge you're doing.
Franklin the Icecue was certainly one of the pokemon of the run
been here since the grass type nuzlocke can't believe you did every type now
I would love to see a bug monotoype run. Lokix is my favorite mon this generation and seems pretty strong.
Maybe a rom hack of emerald with grass types to really come full circle.
Glaceon is my absolute favourite so glad to have seen it
Finally a nozelocke with my favorite type
after more then a year, you've done it
you have done a hardcore nuzlocked all current types
im so glad i've been there for almost the whole ride
3:25 i love the taylor reference!!
While I'm more of a Antler Boy kinda of guy you also make great vids! I'll be sure to tune in from now.
Great vid. love the content. have a wonderful day.
Your narration is great
I loved the Weavile sweep!
Dang your quick with it
He is on fire, 3 videos a week, thanks
Next time you use Baxcalibur, give him the item “Never-Melt-Ice”. Overpowered with his ability
One of the only games for an Ice nuzlocke
A salute to the mighty Froggo for clutching out the victory. Without your noble ice cube head we wouldn't be here today 🖖
It was obvious that the commercial Segway would happen at Ionos Gymbattle :D I am sure Larry has a Website as well!
I have an interesting idea for a nuzlocke, where you are limited to only Pokémon with a four times weakness (Torterra, Gyarados, Parasect, Toxicroak, Obstagoon, etc)
