    Level: 2.5

Take-Out: Lower Yough River Takeout (goo.gl/maps/xhqxQv6sdVCB3akM6)
This is a video of my personal first descent of the Lower Yough river, at 2.5 feet. This is one of the most popular and most highly praised whitewater runs on the east coast. There are a few tricky moves, some great wave trains, and tons of places to practice. The run has one must-make move at Dimple- boaters need to avoid an undercut rock, which has claimed lives in the past. This rapid is walkable for those who don’t feel like risking it!
I took the traditional lines aside from Cucumber and Railroad. This is an extremely well documented run, and I recommend consulting one of the many maps available online and in-person for some reliable beta.
I was paddling my Rewind (Lg) for the first time in a while- I’d been in my playboat for the last month. I was glad to have the length to punch through holes, and because one of the best things about this run is the “go-fast” moments like in River’s End.
Massive thank you to our friend Adam, who graciously led us down and looked out for us. It’s always great to paddle with this crew!

Thanks for the nice intro/info and long, narrative review of the Lower. Love what you’re doing with the channel. Well done!

7:48 Insider info, I'm a river shore hiker, the "bent tree" to the right of screen, in that area are the "Ear Boulder", the "G Pothole Boulder" and the "Cave Boulder" all in that right hand shore boulder area near that "bent tree" at Dartmouth Rapids, Ohiopyle.
For river shore hikers looking for the most beautiful "eroded river shore boulders" the Dartmouth Rapids river shore, near that bent large pine tree, has some of the most striking erosion river shore boulders in the whole park. (I've got videos how to hike there, but kayakers who stop there could conceivably stop and see them.)

5:00 That's "Mike the photographer" (16 years vet at Cucumber Rapids boulder field). He works for "Ohiopyle Photography". Shout "Hi Mike" to troll him.

On double hydraulic I went straight through the hole and I was on a duckie and my brother managed to somehow tail squirt his duckie in it
