I honestly can't tell how much of this is actually dry humour or how much is meant to be documentary

How do you explain to someone about Jonathan Meades? I tried today, and failed badly...
This is Meades at his finest - wonderfully bonkers, in a serious kind of way.

A wit so dry it could soak up oceans.

@MeadesShrine Just thought I'd let you know there appear to be some glitches in the video - this may well be youtubes fault

In a previous life, Jonathan Meades was a cat.

It's the conformity and banality of caravanning I despise more than anything else.
The couple have steady office jobs, live in a nice, bland, boxy house on a nice, bland, boxy housing estate..have 2 or 3 nice, slightly spoilt kids, a Labrabour, wear sensible clothes that smell of fabric conditioner, sensible Clark's shoes and perfectly symmetrical haircuts and copulate with ever decreasing monotonous regularity with a tediously predictable and ultimately unrewarding repertoire.
