I compleatly agree! I was Stunned by the excessive amount of progress, in such a small video, and also not making a big deal of it. Damn you are either super talented and have realy progressed extreamly fast, or just just not letting us know that this progress was made over the course of several months.

I'm working on a game right now and only giving myself two weeks. The point is to make somthing simple and cool and learn a bunch along the way. I've been procrastinating on making games but the 2 week time limit is really helping and I plan on making a dev log about it
I definitely love the main character being a frog You should take tons of inspiration from amphibia , really excited for this project

Suggestion:
Give the frog some clothes depending on the class. The original skin matches the bow and arrow, for the mage give it a witch hat and for the barbarian give it some armour. I think it'll look cool.

I was definitly thinking about doing that, played around with a cape for the mage and everything but I haven't gotten that far yet, I first want to make it playable. And this is only after a week and a half of development
I like your sort of casual attitude, and even though it's a talking head, you keep enough footage of your game up enough for it not to turn boring. Good Job!

This is such a good devlog. I love the graphics of your games. idk why but many games graphics these days look too dead or generic but yours are looking so alive. i think it might be due to the theme and vibrant colors but it looks so great. All the best for your game, i am sure it will turn out awesome. I have some suggestions you could try (i am sorry if the comment turns out too long)
1) You could give each individual class a different clothes setup (like robes for wizards) also if you have some time, maybe change a little bit details on frog like some scratch injury on swordsman and some fire burns or something on wizard.
2)You can maybe try to make the enemies from the food web of frogs like flies, snakes, etc. things that frogs eat could be small monsters and predators as boss monsters, you could also mess with their design to make them more fantasy-like.
3)You can also scatter some leaves below the trees as fallen leaves. Like those old leaves that fall off.

I will join you on this journey! I love the excitement of a first devlog. Keep in mind that feeling you had of browsing through steam and not finding anything... that is the same way everyone feels. What is gonna make those casual browsers stop and desire YOUR game?
Since it's a frog, maybe hopping is a main mechanic? Mostly aerial-based combat as you come down from a really high jump? That could be fun. You already know this, but you should really "find the fun" and nail whatever unique mechanic it's gonna be before going too far on nice-looking asset creation...
Nice looking assets, tho, lol. And v impressive picking up Blender and Unreal so quick.
I am still looking for that one mechanic that will make it special, as for the assets creation, I don't think I've made anything that impressive yet but thank you so much

Yo, fellow Unreal Engine dev! With such main character it would be funny if you posted devlogs on wednesdays, my dude. I really like the idea of the game! If you don't know about distance fields feature, I recommend to check it. You could try to use distance fields for your slimes to make them like metaballs.

@@RandomIndieDev Yeah yeah, distance fields in shaders. UE has DistanceToNearestSurface node in material graph that could be useful for you.
@@VoidHeat and for what would I use it? I just learned about it when I was using it for a water shader but I'm not that used to shaders yet so yeah

Your game looks great, i think you should go for a breath of the wild like game for gameplay. Like the combat, progression, bosses and items would be like in botw, with different human like animals as enemys.
I also really love how the slime looks.
