- CP Gnanasundaram - Vocal
Radakrishnan Naidu - Clarinet
T Viswanathan - Flute
00:00 - Alapana
05:50 - Mohamana - Rupakam - Tanjore Quartet
Each artist is adding to the alapana through their own exploration of the raga. This might cause confusion showing a lack of coordination between the artist - as this exploration is purely guided by sound it is creating a completely eerie and magical sound to the listener. It is easy to lose track of the adhara sruthi and thats when you hear traces of punnagavarali adding to the eeriness.
on a completely different note - Gnani was a student of Naina pillai and listening to this you can hear how well Jayammal has trained Gnani.
Pictures used for this video are from Bala's performance at UCLA from 1962. You can see how happy she is with herself during the performance.
Don’t forget to drop the HD Mohamana 😂❤
Yesss this ^^
And bout the pictures with anyone from her bani including Amma herself, whenever snap a pic of their dance, u could literally see a sculpture. That’s the perfection of her bani!
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG SCREAMINGGGGHGHGGGGGHGGGGGGG❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ BLESS U ANNA MANY HUGS OMFGGGGG THE CLARINETTTTTTTT
Awwww so cute, such enthusiasm for the aesthetic I stan
@@ophioglossalesfernhead3686 u a balamma fan too?
@@TheBenevolent Yepp, her style feels so regal, weighted, and elegant, she’s so queenly. Her brothers and sisters are ✨✨✨ as well. Mohamana is something that can be listened to for hourss I love her Bhairavi. Brindamma’s and Mukthamma’s shankarabharanam and todi are like my other go-tos, Vishwa Sir’s Kambhoji, and atana by any of them- the phase I’m at rn 💗
Why clarinet? I know its used in modern carnatic music, but seems an odd choice here in terms of timbre and sonority? that too, w/such traditional music....
Clarinet suited Jayammal's voice very well - here is an example: czcams.com/video/ZCmkFNtZtq4/video.html
