  • In this episode, we examine one of the most notoriously deadly serial killers in history...the infamous Green River Killer.
Gary Ridgway, also known as the Green River Killer, was responsible for the deaths of at least 49 women in the Seattle area between 1982 and 1998. Ridgway would pick up s*x workers and other vulnerable women, then strangle and dump their bodies in remote areas. He was caught in 2001 and is currently serving life imprisonment without parole.

Years ago I was a camp counselor away from home and we had a week break but I living so far away from home going back was not an option. They needed camp counselors for a affiliated camp that was hosting foster kids. There was a girl that wet the bed every night and had to have someone hold her hand throughout the night or she would wake up screaming. Pretty ten year old girl too, spent lots of nights without sleep smelling her urine soaked bed while holding her hand. Was told she was sexually abused which was why she was in foster care so LaddiNite I hear you.

I think *maybe* if it's coupled with other actual signs (i.e. torturing/killing animals) it might be considered a sign, but by itself it is not indicative. Late bedwetting by itself is generally a sign of a high-stress situation.

I actually grew up in one of the towns that the Green River killer would often kill and dump bodies in.
Thankfully he was in prison by the time I lived there, but he does get brought up from time to time, like one of my teachers who grew up here once said that his sisters we're allowed to walk alone outside after dark, and one of my friends claims that one of her relatives was killed by the Green River killer even though the murder wasn't officially recognized, and how rumor has it he got caught with a dead body in the trunk of his car and that's how he got caught.
It's really surreal to be hearing about this again, but this time not through the word of mouth. Great video, Rob!

The thing that always gets me is how people talk about how serial killers are normally sociopaths, no emotions, their relationships are guises to hide in plain site to do their things. But this case always struck me. It seems this man really loved his wife Judith and it shows when the killing calmed down, but it didn't last, but it does get to me as different from other serial killer's relationships.

That killer is so creepy, appearly I have two ties to him. One is from my father in law. Who believes his friends wife was killed by him. And then my second cousin mother who lived a few blocks away from him. She even talked to him a few times in person, lesson here dont always trust people you come into contact with.

I remember being scared of the killer before he got caught. I remember thinking he was Ted Bundy even tho Bundy was in jail. (I lived near Seattle)

We had to do a PowerPoint on a crime case as a crime and punishment class final. A lot of people in my class started asking me for ideas because I knew interesting true crime cases. I recommended a lot of them to this channel and I think by the end of the project I got about 1/3 of the class to become fans of the show. Thanks for the great videos!
