No. It was mostly because the big wigs at channel 5 decided to stop airing Neighbours altogether, that caused the Neighbours producers, etc, to decide the show was going to end. They couldn't find any other network in the UK to take it on. And since the popularity of the show in the UK was the main reason that Neighbours had still been continuing for pretty much the last 20 odd years. There was no reason to keep it going. But now it's on Amazon Freevee in the UK and other countries.
