this is so nostalgic. seeing nascar in this tv quality again is so satisfying.
I don’t see the race in speedway

Are you saying I'm old?

@@IGNITION82 nostalgic for some but doesn't seem that long ago for me. It was a joke...
The most underrated season in NASCAR history.
It’s up there with 2004 and 2006 for being the most underrated
Yea i remember this season by far goated
04 rocked as well
Thank you NASCAR for uploading this. I remember watching this live back in 2002 as a little kid. Absolutely amazing to watch it once again 20 years later.
Same. I was 8 years old and was very happy with Junior winning.
Mike Joy, Larry Mac, and DW will always be my favorite booth of all time!
This was the best Non Earnhardt Sr Talladega race ever!! Great racing and commentary by FOX!!
20:05 Now that's an awesome angle!
Prime time memories here. I was 16... Started watching in the early 90s and remember seeing Richard Petty racing still. So glad I got to grew up with this era. Thanks!
Need to go back to this points system. It worked great for so many years and now it's so bad, sponsors are dropping like flies. Thanks, Brian France.
The world is a different place. Sponsers no longer want to put there name on cars. NASCAR needs to change the system, so teams no longer have to have a sponser to survive.
This point system was ok, but so many years it was a blow out. NASCAR is entertainment. Therefore, let’s make it the most entertaining we can.
I am an old NASCAR fan but I have to say the new points system and playoffs is much more exciting than the old way. Alot of years the last two or three races we already new who was going to win the championship. Now the final race has a championship game feel. Love it
Man these cars sounded so good!
They sounded beautiful. Also the cars of 2003 and 2004.
Sucks where NASCAR has gone it's not exciting anymore.
Watched it till the very end of the video. Savored every moment. Thank you, NASCAR.
That might be one of the most badass intro segments FOX has ever made. 🔥🔥🔥
Nascar's golden era was 1990-2005. It was great. Earnhardht Sr, Labonte, Jarett, Gordon, Wallace, Stewart, Dale Jr, Elliott, Martin. Hendricks, Gibbs, Rousch, Childress. Since then it has gone off a cliff.
The golden era is considered to be 1989- 2012 and includes Jimmie Johnson era!! Per Nascar museums.
Omg yessss I was hoping they would continue to upload classic races during the off season!! Thank you!!😎
This is the era I miss the most. A lot has changed in 20 years. The drivers, cars, and the fans. Grandstands used to be packed at 'Dega.
No stages just racing, I miss this style
This was real racing !! Nascar is straight garbage now!!
Damn the Van Halen intro was Epic!!
It’s been a minute since a classic race replay has popped up. (NOTE: the thumbnail of this video is from the 2002 EA Sports 500, notice the red colored number on the roof of Dale Jr’s car).
The glory days of nascar. Epic!
I was there for the Busch race on Saturday that year and watched practice for the Winston Cup guys. I remember hearing him on the scanner that day. Dale Jr was not real happy with that car and complained a lot about the temperature of the engine and the amount of tape that was on it. He said the car didn’t suck up good to other cars and was dragging the frame on the turns. I always wondered what adjustments they made because it was so strong he led a good bit of the race
I wish we had these gen 4 cars there was something about that sound and I hate the stage racing
An underated Talladega race
Excited to see The Big One in Good HD Quality
720p ain’t too shabby! 😉👌🏻. May not be in Full HD (1080p), 4K, nor 8K, regardless, it’ll look very beautiful!
Finally I don't have to watch the one with 3 pixels anymore
The big one at 2:21:58
Nascar please post the 2002 Fall Talladega race please
Stay tuned :)
@@NASCAR people have posted that race before but this is no post race interview with junior it just cuts off if you post it please make sure that there’s the post race interviews please
I miss those cars and that sound.

My second nascar race i attended
My first was daytona500 2002
I was at this race, still to this day it's the only race I ever attended in person. I was 9 years old at the time & I was with my parents in the 6th row from the start/finish line.
2:31:30 After 20 years i still don’t get why Elliott Sadler door slammed Kevin Harvick. The wreck was behind him, if he kept it straight on the exit he’d’ve been fine. Yeah Kyle Petty wiggled but there was plenty of space for everyone to fit.
Sadler didn't door slam Harvick? Are you blind? Unless you meant Robby Gordon, Harvick was the one who door slammed him.
Almost heartbreaking seeing the atmosphere of the sport in this vs now I mean even the broadcasting was way better sucks to see how bad it’s fallen now
I agree....they need to ditch the playoff crap. Just have the regular points system And they need to have a podium finish.
The broadcasting does suck, but the air around the sport is positive. The racing is the best it's been in a while and people are optimistic. Ratings are up and people are going to races again.
@@sonnydog830 yeah but I remember going to races in the late 90’s early 2000’s and it was just an awesome feel I will say this new car had far exceeded my expectations it’s definitely closed the gap between teams up a lot so it’s way more competitive but my favorite times we’re back then still
@@sonnydog830 the racing has been better but now they need to change everything else
The scripted and badly acted "arguments" the drivers have these days, the play off rubbish makes no sense, the cars sound crap.
The broadcast is just unwatchable with annoying commentators.. whole thing bombards you 1,000s of adverts!

Congratulations Everyone Have a Safe 2022.
Can we all agree that 2002-2006 was peak classic NASCAR?

Man I miss dale jr
The tailend of the golden age of Nascar!! 1990-2010 great memories!!
miss these old cars, the DEI dominance at plate tracks
I love use of Van Halen in intro.
Crazy to think we almost had another caution free race but you had to have a caution and the Big One. For a long time I thought the Big One was the first caution.
Van Halen:I CAN'T DRIVE, 55!!!!!!!!!!! Perfectly suits Nascar.
More from 2001-3 please!
Remember when NASCAR drivers just raced?
It’s bittersweet watching this era. It will never even come close again.
Can you guys upload the 04 EA Sports 500? Been rewatching the Chase that year and the upload up currently isn’t really good, would appreciate it y’all! Keep it up!
That and the 2008 Spring Michigan Race Bc I have a playlist of The Earnhardt’s Wins and they don’t have a good one of that race as well
A lot of race fans ( past & present ) may not know this, but a NASCAR Cup engine making less horsepower as a restrictor plate engine, has FAR MORE work and money put into it, vs the more powerful non-restricted cup engines. They don't just take an engine and build it for the most power, then simply slap a restrictor plate on it, because such an engine would suffer too much power loss with the restrictor plate, and be less responsive. So they put a lot of research, development, and hard work into an engine specially designed to run it's best WITH a restrictor plate. I would love to know more details on what is so different about a special restrictor plate engine, but the above information is all I know at this time.
Remember when jr went back to back to back to back ?
boogity boogity boogity LETS GO RACIN!
The best Talladega non Dale Earnhardt Sr race ever!! FOX knocked this broadcast out of the park!! That #29 paint job looks hard!! Harvick is the damn man!!
Thanks for posting this!
This is awesome. Good ole day's!
Not a fan of nascar after 2005 but if nascar had a streaming service of all its racing going back to the 70s. I would pay for that all day
Look at the grandstands the height of nascar popularity
DEI owned superspeedways that era. But ive always thought how?. Is it simply engine settings or is there something happening in the chassis / suspension to get them round the turns better?
Respect from Fife, Scotland! :D
If it was the engines you’d think RCR would have been better from 2001 to 2005 but they couldn’t hold a candle to a DEI car on the Super Speedways.
Aero and engine
Good engines, good aero package, and they figured out a way to minimize parasitic drag through the transmission compared to other teams. All adds up to really fast superspeedway cars. Watch close and you’ll see the 8 car much faster sailing off into and through the corners. They knew how to keep the cars from bogging down.
Anyone know the songs at 23:35, 32:37, and 38:24?
After at least the 90s to the 2000s NASCAR would never be the same again
2:21:56-2:21:57 for those who only watch for the crashes, here it is
Thank you for the sharing of the Good, race, and big wrecks, The Drivers was okay, And in Talladega Aaron's 499 2002 video

Thank you again to watching the video/2002 Aaron's 499 Dale, Jr. won the race /back to back at Talladega/ NASCAR Classics Full Race Replay video!
I was 12 when this happened and remembered it pretty clearly, so clearly that I was shocked that it was so long ago lol I turned 33 fast
Great
Which M&M won the vote?
Purple I think
🤔This is NASCAR as it should be.
NASCAR should have 1 stage at the half way mark, then I would consider watching NASCAR again.😎
The engines of this car sound like Metal Beast
I miss the way these cars sound on super speedways
Carrol Smith told a class of Jim Russell MTP students in winter of '02 that the DEI cars were so fast because they ran a transmission that had 8-12% less rotational drag than the other teams, which translated to something like another 25-35 horsepower. That's a good chunk of reason as to why they were so dang fast in that era on plate tracks. Cool details and it's always the small things like that that add up and win races
I miss this era of NASCAR
The good ole days of NASCAR when racing was racing
good times...
2:21:55 The Big One
And Oh, A Big One wrecks, I am glad the Drivers are okay! Elliott Sadler was hit hard the wall and Johnny Benson' car caught fire, But He was okay and go to Hospital for check up!
Go Jr. go!!!!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Damn that 8 car had some serious unmatched power. When Jr. took the green flag on that last restart he put at least a 8 - 10 car gap all the way to turn 3 before anyone got close to him. DEI had some serious power back in these days.
Darrell's blazer looks a little big on him
Well deserved win for Jeb and the rest whom survived the demolition derby
Love watching this #8 bud car doing work back in the day
Goat Nascar. But on the big 1 how’d they not clearly see the 29 & 33 hooked together pushing the 33 into the 20 and upset the 29 into a spin after he corrected thinking he was about to be hooked into the fence. That was obvious imo.
I miss the days when DEI meant Dale Earnhardt Inc.
Yeah, I think Sterling pushed Kenny below the line. Good race. One of the few times Rusty made it through the “big one”.
But skinner kodak chevy that's gonna be THE BIG ONE !
Nudge. Wall. Mayhem.
