The bi-generation was because of the toymaker's rules in play - myths are not just myths they're ALSO true :) The rules of his game. So unless regeneration happens in the Toymakers presence it can't happen again. That's my story and i'm sticking to it LOL
That’s exactly how I saw it when I first watched
It also harkens back to Tom Baker's role as the Curator in the 50th anniversary
@@cerberus01I seriously hope (and seeing as RTD is involved) that this will become canon 14 becoming the curator
@@ajandrianjafymusiceh to be honest I prefer the expanded media explanation for the curator. That he’s a future doctor who can shift between forms at will, whenever he wishes and with no limit. He chooses to shift between older versions of all his previous forms. In one story he was old 6 and in another old 11.
I also much prefer the idea 14 will eventually turn back into 15 and then disappear from his current Time and place to be sent back to this episode as 15, thus completely a bootstrap paradox. 15’s own dialogue that “he’s fine” because 14 helped himself by taking the time off adds evidence to this idea
this david tennant could be the doctor that becomes the curator
So what I have seen in forums is RTD saying there is still only 1 doctor. 14 will eventually regenerate into 15 but it will take time. While 14 recuperates and takes stress leave 15 is there to continue so the universe is never without a doctor then when 14 is ready he will disappear
But what about the second TARDIS?
@@kuroiphox989I assume it’s the same tardis split in two. RTD says in an upcoming episode there is something that proves Ncuti has the original tardis and as the tardis exists across all of its time line anyway (had control room desk top settings that the doctor hadn’t used yet but will) when 14 goes to 15 would just recombine
@@edwardguest1404 Hm, I guess that would make sense. Seems odd but yeah, 15 did say they're doing rehab out of order so, it's interesting.
The Fifth Doctor (Peter Davidson - DT's Father in Law) - also said "it feels different this time" when he regenerated! ETA The Goblin Song, an original composition by Murray Gold and Russell T Davies, is released tomorrow - some sort of Christmas song.
The 12th doctor was imprisoned in the dial for 4.5 billion years... so, the doctor is billions of years old now as a result.
spoilers BTW
The Doctor was recreated at the start of each loop therefore he only aged 1 cycle's worth of time in the dial so only that counts towards his age, assuming you don't reset his age to 0 because he was technically a new person at the start of the final loop. That said you could probably apply this to many situations the doctors been in. So he only aged I think a few weeks during the dial situation. But its possible the writers didn't think too hard about this and said a billion years to reference it incorrectly.

It's heavily implied that the doctor retained the memories of each life he "burned through" during Heaven Sent. Moffat himself weighed in on it in issue 495 of Doctor Who Magazine. While "physically impossible" for the Doctor to physically retain the memories after being destroyed; the confession dial itself is a construction of his own mind, his worst nightmares. Everything within it is a product of his mind. So Moffat "supposes" that the Doctor must have those memories.
So while his body physically/chronologically isn't billions of years old, his mind still experienced all of that time. And time is inherently wibbly wobbly in this franchise. Look at this episode; the 15th Doctor has benefited from therapy and TLC that the 14th Doctor hasn't even experienced yet.
The Toymaker uses accents maybe because the first Doctor beat them mimicking their voice.😊.
... think of this - 15 got the underpants and shoes .... 14 spent the last 1/3rd of the show commando 😏
at the end instead of Destination Christmas it should have been Destination PANTS ;)
A lovely reaction to a stunningly good episode 👏
he's wearing 10/14's underwear which means 10/14 is in commando mode
Basically people became what they already are online 😫
You’re not wrong. It’s a good way to show people themselves, and what the world has become.
I cant decide walked, so Rasputin could run, so Spice up your life could FLY! :D
I agree that #10 was and still is the best. To me, #14 is the same character but older, more tired & a bit burned out. He needs to learn to love himself again (which he does) and to take a little "time out." Long live David Tennant's Doctor, and I'm glad that he's still around, just chillin' at Donna's house!
THANKS! I think the UNIT spinoff should have a rotating companion cast!!!
8:46 😂💯 weren't we just
David is my 2nd Doctor, my #1 is Tom
Youre thinking of giggle water from fantastic beasts 😂
to me 10 evolved as a character from someone who doesnt want to go but to someone who know ready and know he needs to go i would love to have said that but this new regeneration was weird dont know how to feel about it this could be good or just as bad as the timeless child
Why does the toymaker act and look so differently than he does than from Hartnell's episode? They had a real missed opportunity to give him a line saying something like "But then I won a game against The Master, stole away and absorbed his essence, thus sealing him away for all eternity in my gold tooth". The toymaker really gave off a madman Master feel, but one that cared more about being a spectacle and show boating then of conquering and being master of all.
