in the postcredit scene he's daydreaming in class one day and turns into a car in the middle of the lesson
I think one of my favourite thing about Rick's character is that whenever he's in genuine life threatening danger he completely abandons all atheist ideas. Like, despite being this super smart meta jumping character, when push comes to shove, he's still a human that seeks comfort in some kind of higher deity. He's normally in control of everything, and when that control is taken away, he does what humanity has always done. The only thing it can do in situations like this. It looks for something. Even in a universe where literally nothing matters, he looks for something that does.
And I just think that's a really clever piece of writing and I think it's odd I've never seen it brought up before, especially considering how much this fandom loves to overanalyse every damn thing.
Also it's funny as fuck how quickly he shifts back.

Rick was not seeking comfort in a deity. Gods -or more specifically, beings with phenomenal cosmic power that think they are gods- exist, and Rick has met and killed some of them. His plea was a bid to trick one of them into helping him.
