Wow - It looks like a fantastic place and atmosphere to spend time. The National Geographic's brought back fond memories of my grandmother - she collected them starting with the first edition and I traveled the wonders of the world in her library as a child.
And I can tell you, anyone who carries their own precious water, learns how to shower as described in no time. I also learned that If you have enough power to run a small dehumidifier, you can pull three or four gallons of clean water a day right out of the air if you are in a humid place.
Your mate, Qiang, has such a soothing voice. If she narrated books I could listen to her all day.
I am spending the coming month of August in the Philippines and I am already feeling it thanks to this wonderful video of yours.

Really so beautiful. It seems to me that people would be better off working closely in harmony with nature. Throughout history many European conquerers would land in some 'new' (to them) land and look upon native inhabitants as some type of 'savages' and proceed to wipe them out and just take the resources. But who, really were the savages? Those that lived peacefully off the land without destroying it, with much less stress, disease, etc.? Those "Toa Boys" and their island(s) may not be 'wealthy' by 'civilized' standards, but they look healthy and happy and surrounded by beauty...So who lives a better life?

Enjoy the Philippines, Dan. I left there 2/22/22.. yes I like numbers. I'm in the US taking care of stuff and preparing for my next overseas living experience. I have my eyes set on Phnom Penh as it will provide me with a lot more opportunities than the Philippines, as while I have been living like I'm retired, I'm not, so opportunities to make additional money are important to me. I also love the ability to live luxuriously in Phnom Penh on what it cost me to live in poverty in the US. LOL. So I won't be living in the countryside like I did in the Philippines. My plan is to work here in the US saving money for a bit, maybe till early next year, then break free.
