- Emo Nite has always been about creating special and unique moments. When we asked Craig Owens to be involved with Emo Nite Day, he came up with the idea to do a piano version of the Chiodos song 'Baby You Wouldn't Last A Minute On The Creek' with a string quartet. This once in a lifetime moment took place on December 3rd, 2017 at Emo Nite Day at Shrine Expo Hall.

Life highlight: seeing chiodos when I still had a flip phone.
I remember meeting him at warped tour and trying to get someone to take a picture of us on my flip phone and he was like let's just do it ourselves and flipped the phone around and took a selfie before selfie was a word.

I've met Craig a few times and he was nothing less then amazing. I heard otherwise but I haven't experienced it. He has always been great in my experience, up close and on stage.
I'm meeting him this Sunday. All the recent reports are that he's the most grateful dude. Hoping that's the case

Craig never ever sings his own songs all the way through. I can’t stand when artists make great records but can’t replicate them live.
Im convinced he cant hit any of the highs. in every single live version of this song he never hits it and pulls the mic away or points to the crowd.
Craig just has insanely good crowd control. Its just that when the crowd does all of the work then he doesn't really need to hit the highs at that point. He's been doing that for years though and there's been a few times where he messed up but I think that's just more of his preference. Everytime I've seen him live with Chiodos or D.R.U.G.S. he's always killed it live🤷♂️
Seems like a combo of both. He probably can't hit the highs as well as he used to so it makes it easier and draws in crowd participation if he gets the crowd to sing certain parts

I liked all of this except I’m not a huge fan of how like, abrupt the piano was I guess? I feel like it shoulda be a little more melodic. I feel like it takes away from the singing a little bit cause it just feels so like clangy? If that makes sense

He’s definitely taken vocal lessons. Look back at old performances. He was terribly off pitch most of the time. He sounds much more in control and on pitch here.

Singing aside piano and violins is totally different and more easy than singing on a high volume stage with all the amps and drums noise ringing in your ears, were you can barely hear your voice 😅 even if you are using a monitor system
