- The Monster Beetle from Tamiya was re-released in 2015. I've upgraded the motor to Tamyia's Sport Tuned 540. The original Monster Beetle was released back in 1986. Enjoy!

Monster Beetles one of my favorites.
I got this last year for Christmas. And have yet built it been doing other kits first but can't wait to get to this one
The original was my first hobby grade kit. Wish i still had it for my collection. I had to settle for a re release blackfoot also. Great nostalgic machine. Always thought it was the coolest thing to get them oil filled shocks, compared to other tamiya models. And save for the original stop sign shaped drive hexs on tbe dog bones. Blew them out a couple of times.

The monster beetle always has been and always will be my favorite tamiya rc. It came out when I was 6 and I used to ask my parents to take me to the hobby shop every week on allowance day, mostly just to ogle it and dream. I knew I wasn't going to afford it but I always kept up hope. I wound up scoring a used one at a garage sale when I was 11 for 25 bucks. Sadly my dumber teenager self sold it for teenager reasons but I had my 2015 rere pre ordered and I grabbed a black edition and for fun a tr I'll never sell any of them!
