Man, this song makes me remember when I was younger during the summer out in the countryside. All I had was an MP3 player with some of the songs from the game on it, and i'd just sit outside listening to this. Our family was almost flat-broke too. It's a bit bittersweet, but, I was eating ice-cream at the time, so, I guess that makes it better.
This area particularly stuck to me when I came upon it. The little star-like things in the foreground/background motion in such a way that resembles a heart beating (you hear it even) and those switches resemble cells. And, of course, you find the Arm effect which suggests anixety towards extreme injury/bodily harm. All of this encompassed in an easy tone of white while this beautiful but haunting track is playing. That's art, plain and simple.
Intro to a soft piano overture with a muted trumpet and upright bass introducing a violin/viola section to a slow start as a random cornet harmonizes with the trumpet riding an arpeggio to the upright bass's wandering melody guiding the piano to counter-act the flute garnishing the duet. This takes on a few more minutes of a picked up to the flute picking up the slack with the bass following the pianos chords, the cornet and trumpet backed with a saxophone trio writing out the columns connecting the piano's steady beat with the string section's echo further shadier painting, the flute's bright notes topping the falling decline of the brass's melody. The outer dips of the cornet and trumpet's duel input furthering the descent feeling, as the bass sets the final few seconds with the strings and piano reprising the melody. The flute, trumpet, and cornet softly fixing the coda before exiting; the strings continuous stream of notes adding on to the piano's final notes. This is what happens to me at 2 am.
This music is very fitting, with Sabitsuki in the snow. I actually listened to this while I was standing outside when it was snowing, and I felt like I was Sabitsuki xD
It sounds like Masada playing a requiem of some sort... possibly for Monoko? I mean, you DO find the Arm effect here, and it makes Sabitsuki look like 5-armed Monoko...
given the interpretations, ones active personally is the viewpoint they live as oppsed to talk about, she may hav been strong on the outside, but this would be the actual mindset and situation of the person internally..... sometimes the silent ones only show positivity can be the most .... well unfortunate,
@MachoNight I don't think that's the word I'm looking for. What I'm thinking of is when you fear something because you are afraid to become like that which you fear. Like when you see an injured person. You're not scared of them, but you are still afraid. I don't know if there is a word for that. :\
@Silverinet You mean you lurk? You can go to /t/ ( theories board ) and write your theories down, waiting for opinions. The stoplight thing is based on Shitai as well as on the theory that the dreamworld represents events that Madotsuki has had in her life, causing her to shut herself in. Probably because she feels guilty for a death of an acquaintance.
@Silverinet Probably a car crash that happened at a stoplight. I don't need to elaborate that thought, it's one that most people agree on. Take your time and visit uboachan.

cool
icecream makes everything better.
Wait, you played .flow as a child?
@@UoirLocer I think most did, me too
papper
Updating from way too long in the future to say- Yeah. While i’m an adult now (20), I think I played a lot of games I shouldn’t have back then.

Microscopic World is an awesome world to explore, the atmosphere in this place is so great, and the music only makes it better
i will never get this song out of my head.
I find myself coming back every so often as well
What they don't tell you is that the Arms effect freaking teleports you out of the place..
And it isn't exactly EASY to get here..
I was so peeved when I found that out. I felt like I was a goodway into the rabbit hole, and then got ruthlessly forced out.
Taurmega, SAME! I was so frustrated! >.>
VonSmore lol same. It sucks cause it's the most calming and beautiful part of the game. I only got to explore it on my second playtrough
I love this. It's so peaceful, but almost in a tragic sort of a way.
All these comments are from so, so long ago I just wonder how those people that commented 9 years ago are doing now.
This is my favorite world in the game, honestly. Found myself in here a lot just to listen to the music.
Man, this music is excellent to listen to when you're dead tired and can barely keep your eyes open. In short, it's great sleep music~
i wonder how this would sound like if it was rearranged as a soft, slightly dark jazz tune?

I love this idea!!
I don’t know why but listening to this feels suffocating
The atmosphere reminds me of the movie memento mori. It has that cold, lonely feelin to it

this was the most calming area for me and i loved everything about it..
This is absolutely incredible!
@Silverinet Monoko might be a universal fear. A fear of dis-figuration or injury. Although fear might not be the right word.
i love this
I didn't knew you were the one that created one shot. Amazing work BTW.
And you have great taste in video games. Yume nikki fangames, omori... Yees
damn, this is so good
It's because of places and musics like this one why i want to live in dream world
for some reason, reminds me of the song of healing from Majora's Mask
then again Majora's Mask was pretty horrific in its own way so...
I'm seeing things in my peripheral vision

@houndoom1234 It's all in the game files!
@Silverinet This is just a cameo. Monoko was probably the maker's favourite character.
@MachoNight That's okay and thanks :)
Where can you get the entire sountrack for .flow?
@Silverinet Probably a car crash that happened at a stoplight. I don't need to elaborate that thought, it's one that most people agree on. Take your time and visit uboachan.
@qwertyqeys archetype?
@MachoNight nvm, I found one with names and loops on uboachan~
can't unhear ferric coat
Niether can I
same
@Espeo9023 OH SHOOT I MISSED IT ;; Happy birthday though!
when you pitch this up by 1, it sounds like the one with clear gas
@MachoNight you should upload one on the 16th of July if you can :3
if you want the ost, PM me, i'll send a link that has every song in the game tagged
@Espeo9023 Ok...why though?
@TheDeg5555
Not really.
All you need to do is rely on your instinct...a LOT.
this song reminds me of silent hill
@MachoNight I think that might be it. :|
@qwertyqeys I don't think there is a word for it, really. It's just a fear of suffering a similar fate.
@Iemanonymous1 Yeah
@Iemanonymous1 Couldn't have said it better myself.
@qwertyqeys uhh...empathy?
What area is this played?
Microscope World.
@MachoNight btw i subed :)
@MachoNight cuz that's mah birthday
I get Radiohead vibes from this....weird.
If .flow had a band as a soundtrack, Absolutely Radiohead would be present
is Sabitsuki Thom Yorke's alter ego?
welp
I've heard this in 2kki/lcd dem. I'm sure
There's an area in yume 2kki called ash field and it sounds really similar
