FILM DESCRIPTION:
Having rescued robot Johnny Five (Tim Blaney) from being destroyed by the military in "Short Circuit," Indian scientist Ben Jahrvi (Fisher Stevens) moves to New York City to become an American citizen. After struggling to sell a few toy replicas of Johnny, Ben must scramble to make more when Sandy Banatoni (Cynthia Gibb) orders 1,000 for her department store. With Johnny's help, Ben begins making the gadgets, but his plans are endangered when thief Oscar Baldwin (Jack Weston) steals Johnny.

@@chemicalspore Yeah. They pretended to like J5 so he could help them commit crimes, like Oscar pretended to like him to help him steal the diamonds. J5 couldn't see through insincerity, he just recognized direct hostility such as the goons coming in to swing their axe and crowbar at him.
Johnny 5 could only recognize direct hostility such as the goons swinging an axe at him, but he had trouble seeing through insincerity like people using him and showing him insincere politeness just to get him to do what they wanted.
Johnny 5 is so precious! I want to adopt him!

When he was writing the letter to Stephanie and Newton back in Montana I started to laugh when he said 'by the way inclosed is something called a chilli dog' it was real funny that he was gonna mail them a chilli dog.
Somehow I'm only now realizing that he intended on sending them a chilli dog.
This whole time I thought he meant "inclosed" like, the word, was a chilli dog.
Like he thought: inclosed=chilli dog.
@@Random_Geek_J Yeah, lol, it's like J5 didn't recognize that a chili dog wouldn't be too edible anymore by the time it arrived to them across the country. It's like with in the first movie J5 cooking hashbrowns on the stove but while they were still in the box, lol. J5 was brilliant in learning practical information, but still didn't understand all common sense details, the things that you didn't always learn in books. It's like with J5 and the street gang boosting car stereos, he was very booksmart but still didn't understand streetsmarts.

@@jailcatjones3250 He is like a child, who yet to fully experience the world and has a lot to learn, but he is learning, slowly and steadly, which is why he has a guardian in the form of Ben, the original film helps establish J5 moral values, he refuses to take a life and its shown he may hurt someone who bad but never seriously, that is the type of person he is!

I was just talking to some acquaintances recently about how now with AI if they decide to bring back Johnny 5 it would make it soooo realistic! Most of them thought it would be REALLY cool! I hope they do something like this! This movie and this robot bring a smile to most everyone's faces!!!
Funny I found this comment because AI is what brought me to Johnny 5 but looking back at 5 I see the major difference. No internet to contain information and Johnny was hit with a natural element giving him life.

This is a VERY unique film because it doesn't demonize technology, but shows that humans only think in terms of investment & rapacity under capitalism. A very smart film, over-shadowed by condescending humour.
