    Naturally everything that could go wrong, will go wrong. A fuse popped, turning off my internet halfway through my first stream 😂 It's okay though, we picked it back up and continued like nothing happened.
    Thanks to everyone how tuned in. Make sure to check out the course here toanimate.teachable.com/p/animation-course

    I hate to be that 3rd world peasant asking for stuff but is it possible to get a 30 sec preview of one of your vdo to get an idea of how you teach? I bought another blender animation course couple years ago and it was kinda disappointing.
    Anyway, I'm still saving and by the end of the year I'll be joining the course fo sure. 🙂

    The trailer shows some ball animations, sword animations, and mostly character animations. Will this be worth it if I want to animate robots and mecha-style characters like ones from Transformers?

    • @BrianKouhi
      @BrianKouhi  Před rokem +1

      While the majority of the Animation Course focuses on character animation, the principles and techniques taught in the course are applicable to a wide range of animation styles, including animating robots and mecha-style characters like those in Transformers.
      When learning animation, you don't learn how to animate one particular character in one particular way, you have to learn the principles of animation and you can apply that principle to ANY character.
      Take some time to go through our curriculum at the bottom of this page (we have two or more dozen lessons planned to be added in the coming weeks) and see if the course is the right choice for you: toanimate.teachable.com/p/animation-course

      @BrianKouhi  Před rokem +1

      Hey, we do have a Mentorship package (which is currently full and not available), in that package you get the option to send in 12 clips to be critiqued, and so we provide a video critiques of your shot with Syncsketch notes included.
      Our Animation Course has the same curriculum, but there is no video feedback option. We do however have a private Circle community where students share their work and receive feedback from instructors and other students.

    • @BrianKouhi
      @BrianKouhi  Před rokem +2

      Hey Chris, I know I replied to your email, but I'll leave an answer here for the public as well.
      "I don't think the course will ever be "fully done" because we're planning on continuously adding new lessons and assets. The current curriculum is nearly double the size of what we originally planned, but in regards to the Advanced lessons, we're wrapping up the last core video for the Intermediate section of the course, and will begin uploading Advanced lessons in the coming week. There are about 20 videos planned for the Advanced section of the course, and we'll be adding them weekly (sometimes multiple a week), so by July/August we should have all core lessons done as well as tons of new assets.
      I should mention as we grow the course and its content, we'll be adjusting the price of the course as well to reflect the value inside. Naturally if the price increases, it won't have any effect on current students, only future ones."

    How many big US companies use Blender over Maya

    • @BrianKouhi
      @BrianKouhi  Před 11 měsíci

      There's no number you can find online, but majority of BIG companies currently use Maya. From what I know, majority of smaller companies and indie studios choose Blender over Maya, especially more recently. Since Blender 2.8, they popularity of the software has been on an S-curve increase with companies like Ubisoft and Epic starting to implement Blender in parts of their workflow.
      Animation is a skill and Blender/Maya are software. You can learn animation in Blender and transfer your skills to Maya and vice versa very easily. I actually helped switch the software in my previous company from Maya to Blender and some of the Maya animators who had never touched Blender before, were producing work in Blender within a day of taking our Blender Basics course.
      Best course of action is to learn both software once you have a good grasp of the animation principles.
      Hope this helps!

      @BrianKouhi  Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@wildanimasi The price you're referring to was for the Blender Basics course during our limited time Kickstater 2 years ago, not the Animation Course.
      During our Kickstarter, students had the option to pre-purchase the course before there were any lessons added. Those students had a significant discount because they had to wait for a long time before being able to access the lessons and helped fund the huge course we have today.
