HOW DID YOU GET INTO MTB? | Skypark Bike Park

- Well we made it back again to Skypark Bike Park. Definitely my favorite year round place to ride!! We had a great time shredding the trails and meeting lots of RAD people. I've always loved hearing about how and why different people have gotten into riding mountain bikes. I grew up riding motorcycles and they were my life's passion for many years......until I broke MY BACK!! A few years ago, I had a disc fragment shift in my spine which left my right leg paralyzed for almost 6 months. I was able to have surgery to return the function to my leg but I still have very little feeling in my right foot due to the damage that was done to the nerves. I realized quickly that I could no longer sit on my motorcycles for more than about 30 min before an extreme pain would swell up in my leg and it would make me sit out the rest of the day. Thank goodness I don't hardly ever sit down at all on my MTB (except for uphill's ha ha). This has allowed me to continue to ride bike without the excessive pain I had been used to on the motorcycles. I am grateful that I found MTB and that it has been a perfect replacement for riding MX. I get to haul down trails, send jump after jump, but the best part is always when you get to SHARE A RIDE WITH FRIENDS!!

I do ride bmx..
I grew up riding BMX as a kid. It's been a long time since I've ridden a BMX but I do have a dirt jumper I love to take out to ride. Thanks for the sub 🤙
Is that place free? You should also check out Mt Pinos one day. I always see people camping at campgrounds there and going dowhill.
I got into mountain biking by living 5 minutes from skypark and coming from bmx I’ve always loved bikes
Man, I'm jealous you're that close to Skypark. I'd be there all the time. Do you feel that BMX helped you be better prepared to hop on a MTB?
@@MTBMixster it defiantly helped being comfortable on the bike but it’s still a lot of learning
I feel the same about my MX background. There is so much fun to be had riding MTB!

Thanks, I'm having a blast learning how to ride as well as learning how to edit each week. I've had great examples like yourself, Tony, Alan, Adam Mock and many others to help me hone my ideas into edits.
